I tried to run a quest like six months ago called Future Club but I gave up on it pretty quick. The art was all pixely. Here's some unused/unfinished sprites.

I'm kinda torn on whether I should run more quests with a quick artstyle like that or if I should keep updating Hammer Imp. I feel like more people participated in Lonely Ranch because I could update quickly, with multiple updates per session.

I don't know, it looks like you're getting a decent amount of suggestions from Hammer Imp. Unless you mean they come in slow or whatever.

But I guess I would say, depending on how much you want to actually finish Hammer Imp, you could stop at anytime, it'll just end up in the Graveyard. Personally I would prefer if you gave it some type of ending first. Like it doesn't have to have multiple threads and an epic ending, but something that would at least conclude the thread and the story to some extent, before you go for faster updating quests.

Unless you meant work on 2 quests at the same time, but I'm assuming no since Hammer Imp didn't update for a while while you did the other quest. But if you meant 2 at once with Hammer Imp, I guess if you feel like you can pull it off, then that would be fine.
>>

Well I was more thinking the Hammer Imp updates would slow way down while I worked on something else. But at that point it's like, hardly a guarantee it'll ever get done.

But you're right. The little gremlin deserves an archived thread. Thanks

Hey wait a minute, thats us! You should totally post that in the disc thread, that's awesome!

As for the questions you posted like 20 years ago about what kinda art to use, should you finish hammer imp, does anyone remember lonely ranch, etc etc, I really love Hammer Imp and am always excited when it updates, but also you're the author! You gotta like doin this stuff too! So make sure you're askin yourself how you feel about it all, not just us. I personally loved the lonely ranch art, and would love to see more quests done in that two color, silhouette-esque like lonely ranch and the pic linked to in here. I was actually surprised that it was the quicker artstyle, but I'm guessing the animation in most of hammer imp's updates take a l o t of work. The mix of 3d item/gif things you had in lonely ranch were really cool though, I hadn't seen somthing like that in a quest before. I love your portrayal of our characters though, that Maru is bad-fuckin-ass. Luv it

Thanks Santova. Hammer Imp has unfortunately become a real slog to update and I can't exactly articulate why. Might need to do another intermission quest like Lonely Ranch. Also, more Pdn[T]tO character sketches are probably incoming.

Yes and no. Once the assets are done, I can quickly throw them together however I want.

Especially with a short quest in a limited setting. Ideally I won't do any modeling at all while the quest is running.

Unless you mean the actual rendering process. It doesn't take too long with the settings I'm using.

This may be a weird place to ask this question, but is Pom from that last panel of hammer imp based on a Valenzuela poodle moth? It seems to be a moth of some kind, but those fellows are my current favorite among the fuzzy fellows

>Hammer Imp has unfortunately become a real slog to update and I can't exactly articulate why.

So, after a couple years of life experience (Wow time flies!) I think I can talk about this more candidly. Putting your art out on the internet for people to interact with is terrifying. It's a dumb rollercoaster of fear. Even though the praise makes you feel great, all those moments of self-doubt wear on you. That takes a lot of mental energy, which was in short supply for me at the time.

Anyway, I'll try to have a new quest update (>>/quest/942551) out today!

Hi Jiggy! I appreciate you reaching out. In a fit of stupid, I deleted my currently running quest thread entirely. One step forward, two steps back. Oh well...

I'd still like to run tglkols. Maybe I should remake the thread? I've abandoned so many quests though, it feels kinda pointless.

On the bright side, I think I am getting better with watercolors!
>>
No. 44366 ID: 0d5cb3
>>44365
Not Pointless. It's up to you to do what you want to do and work on/finish what you want, too. And plenty of people abandon quests when they lose interest or for other reasons. So if you work on something that you are not really clicking with, you can stop.

But if you run quests again, I'll be looking forward to see what will be up. hammer imp was pretty fun. =P

And it is nice watercolors! Cute character too! =D

Don’t know if you ever saw this but a while ago I did a bunch of drawings of my favorite quest authors as warhammer 40k characters, you were among them! I wasn’t sure what to use as your face so I went with hammer imp, this is you as Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters!
