I remember only one thing - when the meteors came.

They fell upon the city, striking down buildings and causing explosions. I heard blood chilling screams and panic...

Tell her skirts are nice, but your going to need something practical and durable in case you run into trouble.

Coveralls. Tough, durable material-- denim or canvas, maybe some leather if you can find it. This is the end of the world, not a fashion show. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't make them to flatter your figure...

Make a bag or two, while you're at it. Messenger bag for Ves, backpack for yourself.

Seems like she lost her memories, but not her facts. Lets trust her for now. If nothing else, you really don't want to be alone after an apocalypse.

I think I'll leave the questions for the other day.

The sleep was rather nice, although I can't stay I've dreamt about anything. Either that or I just don't remember them.

When Ves and me wakes up, the morning greets us with sun outside and a complete silence. The sun looks lazily over the husks of the buildings, so I guess we need to head out quick if we want to fill most of the day with exploring.

After a whole lot of clothes, some of them frilly, some of them for pretty-looking, some... of questionable use, we settled for this. Some kind of a leather jacket, not really my size but I think it's the best thing I could find now... and well a pair of leather pants that seem to fit me almost perfectly. Ves even found a pair of boots I can wear, I guess that would be good - to protect my feet for once. The skirts we all find sans one are much too bright to use, and the black one we've found was snatched by Ves, since she needs some clothes as well.

As we idly chatted during all of it, I did manage to found out that she indeed found one of those crystals - a green one that send her in a state of shock after touching it. Aftewards she could send little sparks of electricity with her fingers and could remember a little bit about repairing vehicles. She seems also to be suffering from some kind of an amnesia and further questioning her about "before" yields nothing...

"So Frey, what's the plan?"

"I think we should hit that hospital we saw. If anything, there may be more survivors there..."

Should I prepare something for the exploration? Other than a backpack that I found rummaging the wardrobe.

Some tools and weapons would be good. Get some for Ves as well. You know walk softly and carry a big stick and all that.

Alright, so orange crystals give abilities, blue crystals give skills, and green crystals give both.

>>330640
Sure, let's form up a shield. Sword and board! Maybe ask if Ves wants a weapon or shield.

Yes, make some tools in preparation. Since Ves remembers some things about repair ask her what she'll need.

Also: This is a crowbar. It is the best weapon. It is the best tool. It is your very best friend.

Wait, why are we going to the hospital at all? It was creepy and didn't seem occupied. I vote we start scouring the city for upgrade crystals and evidence of what happened instead. Put enough points into Enigmas and we might just work it out, or at least make ourselves better equipped to deal with the inevitable conflicts with people who did immediately start focusing on upgrades.

Those crystals are found in craters, they give super powers, and they are probably NOT a renewable resource. There was most likely a magical apocalypse that randomly mutated people into otherwise impossible beings, killed off most, and left glowing crystals of power.
You should first hunt for as many of those as possible.

You should also turn your bio manipulation power inwards, along with your knowledge of medicine. Take stock of your body and learn as much as you can, see if you can enhance yourself, see if there are things about your anatomy that are biologically impossible (and suggest magic), for example your face seems to be a skull.

Long term I think the goal should be as:
>>/questdis/351268
Repopulate the world with a race of your creation via biomancy and medicine, first a village, then a city, then a planet spanning empire.

When dealing with other survivors expect them to have powers. Advertise your abilities as a healer. Everyone wants a healer. Your enemies will try to capture you instead of killing you, friends will be easier to come by. Powerful fighters can be on your side knowing that you can heal them.

>>/questdis/351280
Basically, we will need astral manipulation too if we want to create creatures. Astral 4 and Bio-manip 4 are required. As a bonus we would be a really nifty buffer / healer while working those stats, so we can form and lead a party comprised of skill monkeys, tanks, strikers, etc we will be golden. Healers always have bitches lining up begging for a suck on their cock of healing.

As for the hospital... we can get there eventually but right now we need to find more craters ASAP. And hopefully more party members before entering the hospital.

My thoughts exactly, wrt. the crystals. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a GOD, and we are NOT turning that down to pursue idle curiosity about a creepy hospital.

Maybe you're right about the hospital escapade for now. I dunno but I felt really odd when I was around that place. More odd than when meeting that jelly thing.

As I recall our way here yesterday. I think there was smoke... westward? I think westward. That's where the sun was setting at least. There were few interesting things I noted along the way.

A crowbar is simple enough to make and I think I can turn something like a metal platter into a shield easily. Material for the sword is easy to come by as well... While I work on this, I should rethink my moves then. If I'm not going to the hospital, where should I go to?

Well if we're heading towards smoke, let's check the fire department first. Maybe we can grab a fire truck to put out whatever's on fire.

we should check the basement first. Ves should be able to make enough light to see by. leaving your base of orations unsecured is a bad idea.

I agree with checking the basement, given others' arguments that we need to make sure we know our "home base" if you intend to use this as a base in the future. The smoke seems as good a place as any to check afterward, though.

...to find this skeleton locked in an odd pose. The green stuff seems to be some kind of jelly that froze him in this weird pose. Like he was in agony of some sort. The jelly is what smells like that... and glowing too.

I have no idea what might've happened here.

Checking the room yields nothing. Except for the skeleton, junk and some preservatives, there's nothing. Poking it with crowbar doesn't provoke anything either...

Laying the crowbar down and giving it a closer inspection, careful not to poke it no more, this... creature is horribly deformed. It looks as it underwent some horrific transformation that stopped mid-way. And there's that horribly sweet smell I can sense coming from that green jelly-like substance.

It smells just like that weird grocery store creature. I can see no organs, no nothing. I think any flesh or bodily fluids this creature had is now that green jelly and only the bones remained.

I don't even know what to make out of this... this is certainly disturbing in a way, but I'm morbidly curious what has happened here.

There's little there besides the dead... thing. The windows are too small to have anything bigger than a small creature slip in. Besides they're all closed.

You may be right about the transfomration thing, but I... don't really want to think about that. Maybe he, she... it tried to hide when the meteors came and then died? I really need to get more clues on this whole meteors thing before I start forming conclusions.

And speaking of which... I should really go exploring around before it gets dark. Where to then? Since I ruled out the hospital there's still Smoke westward. There's a Fire Department to the north. Or at least I think it is a fire department, I caught a glimpse of something that might have looked like a firefighting vehicle. And there's a domed building to the east. I think there was "IBRA" written on it, half of the sign was gone, though so I assume it was a Library. I could always return to the City Hall and Park ruins to the south.

And what should I tell Ves about this?

As far as Veas goes. Keep her up to date on any strange happenings including this. Be bros here. Would suck to be on your own in this mess. Sticking together should be encouraged! But if she insists to stay where she is at least suggest she avoid any danger if it rears its ugly head.

We don't want our bee girls ending up as green goo one bit.

I also say checking out the Fire Department would be a good idea. Assuming that's what it is

I introduce the situation to Ves as we venture to the fire station. She doesn't seem that scared about it but she looks curious if anything. We theorize for a while what might have happened there and we come to a conclusion that it might be some poor soul that didn't get transformed correctly... but it makes me wonder what people were transformed into.

When we get to the Fire Station we can finally take a better look. It looks pretty abandoned. I think there is one fire engine still left in there, no sound of motor running or anything but it looks like it was ready to head out. I think I see faint shapes of uniforms, helmets and similar items inside scattered on the floor but it's a little bit too dark to see inside.

We shouldn't go around turning our arms into swords. An arm can hold a sword and also do other useful things.
