Skipping ahead in the setting a bit. The wog family has successfully ejected an evil spirit from their son. Plipper and Deave head over to Urtz space station to retrieve their equipment where they have just been engaged in questioning by the GPD.

[Officer] We were tipped off by maintenance about the body. Now tell me, what sort of equipment were you ordering from the victim?

[Deave] The usual stuff- armor, rations, a ship and some other stuff.

[Officer] 'Other stuff?'

[Deave] A piloting droid, nothing illegal! What is this all about?

[Officer] We scanned her DNA and found out that the victim is a miss Susan Horvia. She has been a missing person since 3455. We recently realized that she has been under the alias of 'Regina Mutsol' this whole time, along with being the known terrorist and crime lord Viper Queen. She is wanted for conspiring with a Doctor Aron Mutsol and terrorism against the Grey Mage Organization.

[Deave] oh...

[Officer] I need you to be completely honest with me, What relationship did you have with the victim? If we find out you are lying you could be locked away or executed for being an accomplice so be very honest with me.

>What relationship did you have with the victim?
[sarcasm]I was the love of her life and her secret fiancee.[/sarcasm]

What do you think? I'd never even met her before we ordered the stuff. Heck, that was my first trip offworld! We didn't have a relationship, except for the one business transaction.

This has the advantage of being completely true- even the sarcasm. (I think? If you'd somehow met Reggie before or been offworld as Deave don't lie).

She sponsored an old bounty hunter friend of ours and we introduced our little brother to her when he showed interest in that line of work.

"I was planning on having her sponsor me as a bounty hunter. Figured it would be some fun irony since my mission in life is to kill her god because he's a jerk. Oh, and deicide's legal where he lives - no crime there."

[Officer] Alright, I see no further reason to keep questioning you. Do whatever business you had here and hurry on out. It's still a crime scene so only touch the items that are yours and nothing else. Me and officer Tibbles are going to step away for a second but we will be back, so keep this in mind. Okay? Then I'm off.

Both officers walk away towards the docking area leaving just Deave and Plipper by themselves int he service tunnel.

[Plipper] I think it's all over here. Oh hey, I found the ship registration.

[Deave] Did we really order all this stuff, there seems to be a lot here.

[Plipper] Well regi seems to have put an attachment here. "Here's some extra crap I don't need. Don't try pawning it back off on me because you think it's too much, just take it."

[Deave] huh...

[Plipper] yeah...

[Deave] What's the ship called?

[Plipper] Says here it's called the bullet.

[Deave] Welp let's go find it, I have everything on the grav-cart.

[Deave] There's a door here. I think we can get everything through this door.

[Plipper] Hello there, are you here for maintenance or something?

[Human] No no, just admiring your ship... You guys must be part of the government to have this thing.

[Deave] Hm? no, not really.

[Human] so your apart of Greymage?

[Plipper] Well no... we really don't like evil corporations. Is this ship really a big deal?

[Human] a-big-deal? This is an old generation battle standard military transport ship! The guns were removed, but this thing used to be a space marine ship! It usually takes a crew of 5 to fly this thing, where is your crew?

[Plipper] Looks like we don't need one, says here it has an A.I. pilot.

The dark skinned human starts rubbing his face against the side of the ship.

[Human] Do you know how lucky you are?

[Plipper] um... lucky?

[Human] It's as if somebody just gave you a trillion credits and told you to do whatever with them. This ship, without the A.I., is a beautiful piece of machinery and engineering. A trillion dollar piece of machinery and engineering, the upkeep to have it maintained is roughly 30,000 credits by itself.

[Deave] Wow, that is a lot of money. I'm sure we can make that.

[Human] A-are you guys leaving right away?

[Plipper] well we haven't really planned on much yet, we just stopped by to grab our stuff.

[Human] Do... do you want a mechanic? I have experience with space engineering and i've been apprenticed by the station mechanic!

Well, he sure is enthusiastic, but we're gonna need to see a resume and some credentials.

Also, if he's competent enough, let's hire him for dirt cheap, since I think we'll be able to get away with that, given his excitement about the job itself.
>>

Ask for a name and some credentials. If we're getting a mechanic and this ship IS as vintage as he claims. We want someone that won't irreparably damage it.

Have the robot run it's self-maintenance routines. Gods know how out of date it's software is.
