Nothing

Nothing but a vague awareness of self...
One moment you didn't exist, now you do...

Knowledge begins to flow, pouring in, it hurts you.

Murmuring... a voice?

"C~~ ~o~ ~~~r ~~"

The nothingness gives way to conspicuous something, definitely something, pity you haven't a clue what that something is.

A brown being stands before you in a oblong space, other objects you can't make out are present, everything is fuzzy. Bubbles rise periodically in your vision, every thing is tinted blue. Nothing makes sense, anchor-less knowledge floats in your consciousness.

Nothing makes sense...

Nothing...

The brown thing is still murmuring, you could concentrate on the voice, or try to make sense of what is going on, you don't even know what "you" are.

You consider your existence, the very act of thinking makes something clear to you, know now you think in voices.

-The voice was trying to say "Corgi". We are a corgi. The brown thing is another corgi.-
(voice +1) -This is correct-
You are on the verge of deciding that you are a corgi, however, considering the brown thing is too large to be a corgi, you dismiss those voices as receptionists + Z (voice +1).
[Your voices are slightly more chaotic]

You try to make sense of what is going on.

...

Everything is clearer now, you can see better, a Nighom[human] is before you, she is a Erim, one of the main Nighom breeds of the land of Erimael, You appear to be in a vat of liquid... or maybe it isn't liquid, something with bubbles anyway.

The Erim is standing before us, arms crossed, she has violet eyes and jet black hair, it is long. She is small and dark skinned, she wears a orange robe and skull cap, many things are on the belt at her waist. You are in an alchemy lab. There are many strange and wonderful things, though considering you are new that is to be expected.

"Are you awake?" She asks, her voice coarse.

You still do not know what you are, or what in Relhs is happening.

-We hear, We are awake-

The Erim female smiles.
"Wonderful, I heard you, now... lets see..."
she fiddles at the bottom of your vat, you cannot see, as you try to you see that you are quite luminous. You feel you could change the colour of your luminessence

"That should do it"
MORE knowledge floods into your mind, it burns and sears and bubbles flood rapidly upwards.

"Couldn't complete your basic conditioning until you were awake, now, let us see, where to begin..."

"Of course! Introductions I am Defiu Unnad, you may think of me as your mother, I don't have a name for you only a number, thought you'd like to pick your own, I'm sure you're a bit confused by all this, feel free to ask me things while I work on you..."

You think upon your knowledge of alchemy, it's fairly basic. Alchemy is the mysterious art of changing the state of things, generally by mixing them together with other things. making a fire from two pieces of wood can be said to be alchemy as can mixing the tears of a fire elemental with wood. It is the hidden art of action and recation. Generally only the more impressive stuff is called alchemy.

Your thoughts drift to thinking about Relhs, the realm of torment, were Vikkael is king, all in all it doesn't make for nice thinking matter.

-What are we?-

"What? Oh, sorry, how thoughtless of me, you are a Chorus of Whispers, A Jinnuos. Basically you are a construct of thoughts, voices. A Spirit of Wills, a guide."

-What were we created for?-

Defiu, stands up and stares at you as you turn a soft blue.
[You now have more Identity]
"You were made to guide..."
Defiu turns and points.
"That!"
What she points at is a vat that looks for all intents and purposes to be empty.

"Nothing really there yet, but I'm going to make a homunculus and you shall be it's guide and protecter, a blank sheet which you shall write on!"

Defiu explains she wanted you to to choose what kind of homunculus
She asks you to choose;
Gender
Male or Female?

Race (appearance)
Nighom;
(Erim, most common Nighom of Erimael)
(Driu, large, stong, black skin, sandy hair, gem like eyes, work slave race, common)
(Kiosa, average, black or sandy red haired, tanned-looking, blue eyes most are considered outlaws very common)
(Urtoan, red eyes, purple hair, petie, pigmentless skin, earth dwellers less common above ground)

Sioalf(elves)
Loirks(red elves, dragon blooded, red skin, black hair Very common)
Untai (dark-elves, dark-skinned, brown to black or white hair tall common)

Dwarves (Abharn)
Suface, Kelabin( Dark skinned, curly black haired, cone headed, not common)
Rock (Rocky skin)

Lizardpeople (Seehi)

Filias (cat people)

Those are all the races she has parts for. Though you can mix races, any more than two however will mean the homunculus will be viewed, detested and feared as a Tainted a cross breed of the races.

(joined voice, vote on gender tied, race consensus) -A male Seehi- (voice +1)

You turn green (new power 1/??)

"Huh, seehi eh?" Defiu responds.

She begins to dump things into a compartment in the bottom of the empty vat.

Incoherent Voice -Why does the homunculus need our guidance?-

(voice +1)-What is their task or list of tasks to be?-

+Deadbeard (voice +1) -Why do you do this-

She continues to work as she talks.

"Right to the big questions eh? The homunculus will be a blank state, you'll guide it... him as so as something can't just take charge of his body. This homunculus has a special task, which is why I need you to guide it, I'll tell you more once the homonculus is done..."

She turns a lever at the base of your vat, everything begins to go dark...
"For now, I need you dormant, you aren't quite finished."

You feel unsatisfied with her answers, she seemed unwilling to give much information. Further thought eludes you as you slip into unthinking oblivion.

"Why am I doing this?... I haven't any other choice..."

* * * * *

You wake to fire and destruction. The Lab is a swirling inferno, nearly unrecognisable.
The Lizardman is fully formed, Defiu smashes the vat open with a length of metal, she drags the body over to a strange circular device on a pedestal.
She turns to your vat and smashes that open too. Then she hobbles over to the pedestal. One of her legs is wounded, she is also missing an arm.

"I won't let it end here" She turns on the power, looking sadly at you.
"I can't come with you, need to stay behind... make sure HE can't follow you two, I'm sorry I couldn't finish you both"

Far behind her, you see a red robed figure, arms cloaked in flame, his shining white hot eyes pierce you to your soul.

His voice sounds in your mind, flame rippling behind the words "I see you... I will find you..."

The lab fades Defiu's sad smile, tears down her face, are the last thing that you see.

Your vision returns. You are in a small cave, there is an entrance close by, some light shines through it. The Lizardman homunculus is lying prone on the ground. He doesn't move. It appears he has not awoken.

You are mildly distressed and very confused. The Red robed figure was terrifying.

You recall that you were meant to guide the homunculus.
You could haunt him, (This binds you strongly, you can whisper to the host and
possess him (The body becomes yours, this is not nice and will in the end leave the body an uninhanbitable husk), or
connect with him (You will be able to whisper nothing more).
Or you could do nothing. There might be more ways of interacting... You are completely freewilled.

(Voice +3) (Voice unison!) (Will up!)
You decide to remain unbound for the moment, you figure you'll think of what to do with the homunculus when he has woken up...

You decide to explore the cave...

It isn't very big...
It is very damp and mossy...
The floor is soft earth, a number of rocks are littered about the place.
There are some glowy mushrooms. They glow a faint orange.
A small purple crystal formation juts out, the light from the cave entrance is refracting off it in an attractive manner.
There is a exit, a pile of rubble makes a ramp to it, you cannot see outside the light shines through too brightly.

!

The Seehi homunculus begins to stir! He slowly unfolds, staying sitting on the ground and looking with wonder around him, the glowy mushrooms, the purple light caused by the gems and the light from the exit.

You almost feel as if you are watching a little kitten.

That is if kittens were large, brownish-yellowish scaled had the eyes of a lizard, had dangerous claws and were buck naked.

Well... the buck naked and dangerous claws parts fit... sorta...
Still for a Lizardman, he is kinda adorable. What with the green eyes with with childish wonder.
You also feel a sense of familiarity towards the homunculus.

Do you wish to disturb him?
Perhaps you want to scout the surrounding area?
Or maybe there is something else in the cave you wish to do?

You get him to dig away some of the earth, seeing as how, there might be a pad, as it turns out, instead the Seehi's claws hit against something.

A chest. It is unlocked and the Seehi opens it before you can react.

Inside is;
A steel short sword in scabbard, with a belt to go with it. A large cloak, a rucksack with dried meat in it. There is also a note, it reads thusly.

Do not trust Parumrir.
Erimael is in danger...

Well, that was spectacularly unenlightening, clearly Defiu was not expecting she wouldn't have time to insert directives, but she was expecting to be disturbed...

All the random colour changing you've been doing makes you come to a realization! You can use your body to emulate a prism, allowing you to create illusions by changing the colors and brightness of light.

At the same time you realize you can make a blast of quickly shifting and flashing colour!

The making of a Homunculus is both a mark of alchemical mastery and a utterly forbidden act, mainly forbidden for how easily it can go horribly wrong. Only the creation of a new race is more forbidden and a greater alchemical act.

[Unlocked: Homunculus' Vow of Vengeance. Requirement, hear the artificial seehi vow vengeance against the Red Robed Mage]
Reward: Hint
There are advantages to staying separate and advantages to haunting, neither will harm the host. Keep in mind a character's mindset when influencing them.

Perhaps we should have the Seehi collect some crystal before leaving.

We should test how our light reacts to phisical objects. If it disapears on contact, or bounces of with no effect, or phases through.this could be important, for instance, if it bounces of, we can percieve invisible things in the real world by bouncing waves of our ethereal light off of them.
Also, how sensitive are we to our aura, and that of the seehi?

Ask,"do you wish for yourself a name, created one?"

As for the Seehi, I don't know - something associated with determination, returning to home, etc.?
After all, what's in a name?

(Voice unison!) (Will up!) (Your voices feel more harmonious)

"I will make a name for myssself! The Red Robed Mage will PAY!"

-You wish for yourself a name created one?-

"Yesss, I will earn a name! until then I am Nirdhar!!"

-Nirdhar?(Means; One who is driven) a fitting cloak-

"What of yourself Ss-spirit, what mantle will you take?"

What indeed?, you think of how Nirdhar does indeed seem driven now... What of yourself? A luminous being, emitting light that none but the magical can see...

Spectrum... a good a title as any...

-For now, I shall go be Spectrum-

Silence comes over you and Nirdhar, as you both reflect upon your new identities...

[Both you and Nirdar have gained more {Identity}]
[Various beings will no longer be able to control you simply]
[You feel more {whole}]

[Goodwill Bonus!] Thanks for sticking with me thus far!
You direct Nirdar to gather some of the shattered crystal, as he does so one of the pieces he picks brushes off of you. There is a pulling sensation, as you feel as if the crystal is trying to draw you in...

It stops abruptly... the crystal , being... saturated? The crystal is still purple but there is a shifting red-blue inside, you feel a bit of power from it and a connection... Nirdhar turns it over in his hands as if sensing something, but he sees nothing and puts it in the rucksack

Odd.

You put this from your voices, and decide to test your light on a few objects... The light seems to go through objects both rocks and Nirdar providing no resistance the light fades after a distance, loosing magical consistency. The remains of crystals however... consume the light... you find this a bit unsettling, but then crystals are known for their abilities of holding magics.

Speaking of magic...

You look at what little of your own aura you can see...
Blue-red light shifts and turns, weak, but a sense of... stability?

Nirdhar's is quite different
blank, empty, but flecks of gold in twisting emerald... The twists of emerald are all that exist in it and they seem very thin and brittle.

[Your magic sight is empowered!]
[You can analyse auras now!]

Nirdhar finishes putting the crystal shards in his rucksack, he seemed drawn to the ones you effected with your light.

You and Nirdhar leave the caves heading for the ruins, feeling unready to deal with the natives of this land.

[Death Missed: The Purple Prison]
[Path Missed: We are Monsters who need no Names]

[Unlocked: The Driven One: Requirement; the seehi homunculus gives himself a name before leaving the cave, Unlocking I, Homunculus]
Reward/Punishment: World Lore
Magic in Kigan is strange... in one sense it can be described as force of anticipation, make every thing look like fire will come from your fingers and it likely will... or not. Magic is animation, movement, when magic is drained from a thing it doesn't die it just... stops. Magic comes in three forms.

Heartflame: Wild raw magic from the centre of Kigan core, using this causes cancer of the spirit and one can easily get drunk on this power of creation.

Pollen: This constantly falls from the world tree Yaibggael (Yab-g-gale) who's leaves cover all but the lost ocean of Yuikna and whose root go deep into the Heartflames. The more pollen, the easier it is to do magic stuff.

Motes: These are what most spells turn into, a magic equivalent of ash. Though Motes are by far the safest and easiest to use.

Small Update coming after this, incidentally should I make a discussion for info dumping some world lore/answering question not pertaining to plot etc...?

You stand before the ruins, you have no idea what kind they are. You have a little knowledge of Leoni and Crikigan, and this looks older than the Great Paladin King Darleon... Which means there wasn't a chance Defiu would have put any knowledge of these places in your head. She clearly wasn't expecting you to be in Cri'Kigan...

So why did the teleporter send you there?

It is now dark and the light moon, Nanlach glows above, as do the lesser fruits of the great anchor tree Yaibggael. The Ruins stand before you, they are quite impressive for being so old, crumbled and overgrown. A shining sphere hovers between runed pillars, energy crackling between them and it...

There must be a reason this hasn't been disturbed.

Your Voices swirl as you consider what to do.

Rolling for encounter.

@author, can you clarify the 3 levels of "possession"? you made some corrections to previous posts and overall I am confused on which is which; and can we switch from being connected to haunting and then switch back without harming the host? if we know it to not be harmful to haunt, and we could go back from haunt to connected, then we could suggest to him that we perform short practice sessions where we try to haunt and he tries to push us out of his mind, to prepare against mental battle against a hostile unwanted entity.

@Nirdhar, you expressed concern before about being a humonculus, but do not worry. You are a person like any other. Humonculi are often feared, because they are born very vulnerable to possession by evil spirits. This is something I am here to help prevent, as you gain in identity you will lose that vulnerability, so when visiting towns you should try to make friends, learn things, find hobbies, motivations and desires.

[explain three levels of possession to Nirdhar]

-Nirdhar, you expressed concern before about being a homunculus, but do not worry. You are a person like any other. Humonculi are often feared, because they are born very vulnerable to possession by evil spirits. This is something I am here to help prevent, as you gain in identity you will lose that vulnerability, so when visiting towns you should try to make friends, learn things, find hobbies, motivations and desires.-

Nirdhar is quiet for a while, then speaks;
"You give good council, I thank you Spectrum"

[Nirdhar is now more sure of himself]
[Nirdhar trusts you more!]

You decide to tell Nirdhar about the different levels of interaction you can have with him.

You tell him about;

Connections: These come in two forms
Indirect: Suggestion, emotion manipulation and imitation of thought.
Direct: Thought sharing, telepathy

You can only have one direct link at any given time, to form a new one you must close the current one, the target must know you exist. You can gave many indirect ones simultaneously. Currently you are linked to Nirdhar. Any communication is done via {whispering}.

Haunting:
You draw close to a person, cloaking yourself over them, in effect, you become a part of their aura, you can only do this to a calm mind.
You can only stop haunting when the one you are haunting is calm.
You cannot whisper to anyone other than the one you are haunting.
When haunting, you only appear as an anomaly in their aura, only powerful beings or beings of a similar nature to you can see you when haunting.
The person you haunt can be empowered by you and you can use them as a conduit for your power.
The haunted remains in control of their body, and can only receive from you, they cannot take.
You make be able to draw an innate ability from the host, which you can carry with you outside of haunting.
Constantly switching in and out of haunting is likely to strain your spirit and that of the host. A day after haunting is safest to unhaunt.
If the person you are haunting dies, your spirit will suffer great harm.

Possession
This is fatal to the possessed, you can forcibly take a body, but doing this will mean you will destroy the body's spirit eventually. The benefit of this is it gives you a body allowing you to channel your power directly. The body however suffers rot from a foreign spirit residing in it and will break down after a time.

You assure Nirdhar that you will not possess him, as that would be in contradiction to guiding him.

Exposition end, sorry for that

You suggest to Nirdhar, that you perform short practice sessions where you try to haunt and he tries to push you out of his mind, to prepare against mental battle against a hostile unwanted entity.

Nirdhar decides that this is a good idea, and wishes to start right away.
Nirdhar's feeble walls offer little resistance and you find yourself in his mind, haunting him.

[Nirdhar has been temporarily empowered!]
[Nirdhar's abilities and traits and generally improved a bit]
[Nirdhar has gained a slight magic resistance, and weak magic sight]

[Bonus for author being insufferably mystic: Hint]
Hint: You were able to manipulate your own body somewhat while not haunting.

[Not great, but pretty bad roll activate: position: 1 or 6 Outside!]
You feel fear tear through Nirdhar's mind, thankfully you are strong enough not to get infected by it. Nirdhar runs heedlessly, terrified by what is now behind him.

Being as you are you can look at what is behind Nirdhar, in spite of being
anchored to his body.

You look, and wish that you hadn't.
[You have got to be kidding me roll activate: encounter: 2, Implacable Gelatinous Ooze]

An Implacable Gelatinous Ooze, this is bad, they are... well Implacable! To make matters worse, Nirdhar in his blind running has gone down an entrance to the ruins. An entrance which is now filled by the slimy nightmare. Nirdhar is still running, he has passed several forks in the paths. How the Relhs did that thing sneak up on you, it's massive!

[Encounter roll: 3 :disposition disgruntled]
Nirdhar stops abruptly as a skeleton in reddish leathers points a metal lance at him.
And speaks in a dry, bone clacking ancient kind of voice.
-Halt!! Who dares to enter this place, if ye are bandits, ye'll find no base to make here, and if ye be treasure seekers, take what ye want from all but the bodies, then leave if ye can survive-

Pink lights in the skull's eye sockets flash menacingly.
-If ye be magi in search of secrets then I shall end yer life here and now-

The skeleton still pointing the lance at Nirhar looks.

Before you can direct Nirdhar or he can do anything the skeleton grabs Nirdhar's arm and starts running.

{skeleton}: -It'll be after me aswell now! Come on!-

At your direction Nirdhar speaks.
"We- I am not a magi or an outlaw, I'm really much more interested in escaping from that Ooze"

{Skeleton}-Well big boy, I'm not so keen on the idea of slowly dissolving inside of that thing either-

"Wait so where are you taking us, me?"

{Skeleton}:-out of here... ah problem, That thing is gonna keep chasing us, and if I let ye out and I go to protect this place again, I'm gonna get eaten-

Those crystals exist in the real world, yet absorb energy from us. Considering the fact that our light bypasses other physical objects, perhaps we could attempt placing crystal shards around the ruins, and using our LASER to overcharge them and cause an explosion.

Also suggesting we appoligise profusely for ruining this skelleton's protectorate, he seems like a nice guy, and after these ruins are destroyed (assuming he does not go unto eternal rest) perhaps we could convince him to travel by our side.

Interesting idea, take the explosion idea and just retool it such that the explosion is inside the slime rather then causing structural damage... that might hurt it...

You are in a PEAKSTONE passage way, it is very dark, you are likely to be eaten by a Implacable Gelatinous Ooze.

Nirdhar being as confused as his is, accepts your will without question.
"I apologissse for ruining your protectorate"

-I'm just curious as to how one of those monsters ended up here, it isn't a local-

At the speed of thought you relay to Nirdhar your incident with the crystals and your plan.
"I have a plan to take out that ss-slime, or a leassst ss-slow it down"

>>303518
>>303496

Nirdhar takes one of the crystals out of his rucksack. You try to focus your luminescence shortly before realizing you can't, your stuck in Nirdhar...

Since you are in his body though... you focus your light through Nirdhar's body. It works! Light flows from Nirdhar's hand and into the shard.
The light seems stronger somehow...
[New power 1/??]

You get Nirdhar to quickly tell the Skeleton the plan.
The Ooze continues to approach.

Cracks begin to form in the now blindingly shineing crystal shard.
"Now!" Nirdhar shouts as you continue to pour light into it.

*Twack!*
For having no eyes the skeleton has splendid aim.

*Sluuuuuurrrrooooppppp!*

Well, that was a disgusting sound... also the Ooze continues a for a bit...
Then there is explosion of crackling energy!

[Rolled: 83, very successful]

The Ooze is lining the walls, it appears to be on fire, and moving much slower, it is slowly reforming itself. It doesn't appear to have lost mass.
Yes it is still going forward, just slower... while on fire. Doing that trick again will likely slow it down again, but it seems it won't kill it.

-good solution short term, long term not so much- The skeleton remarks dryly, not the the skeleton could sound anything other than dry.

>>303496
"About that, Could you tell me anything about the sphere of power outside? what it is likely to happen to it when it comes crashing when this place is down?"

-I don't know much about the sphere, In life I protected the place and in death, well exist long enough and memory begins to get a bit fuzzy, we should be able to get away in time though... and I'm sure the sphere won't fall, whatever it does, it'll do it where it is-

The Skeleton shrugs, a horrible clakiting noise.

>>303442
You get Nirdhar to explain your plan of laying the overcharged crystals at strategic locations inside the ruins, thus bringing the whole place down.

-I've got something that might be a better idea, ye know those glowy pillars? well blowing them up should mess up the sphere, course I can just guide ye to the supports in this place, but I think that would make things a wee bit dicey getting out-

Your voices swirl as you consider what to do. Also, you feel a bit weaker, perhaps there is a better way to use your power through Nirdhar...

*The person you haunt can be empowered by you and you can use them as a conduit for your power.
*The haunted remains in control of their body, and can only receive from you, they cannot take.

Try to grant nirdir your powers rather then just using it through him, when he does use it, try to support him (further empowerment) to assist in the effort of using said powers and make it easier for him to do.

Could the sphere of energy zap the slime? it is a bit slower now, could you run around and be on the other side of the sphere? or how about just outrunning it?

Or maybe we should just go with the skeleton's plan, he knows the place well enough and if he says that is more likely to bring the place down... Also its not like we can do too many such blasts, we have a limited number of crystals and it was tiring to blow just one up.

Much later, lets try to make the crystal that trapped a portion of us in it into a psi crystal, an independent magic familiar... now time for it right now though.

"What..."

You feel the connection between you and him... how to do this?
It needs to be more than simply using him as a conduit, he needs to hold the power, to be a bringer of light...

Hold the power...

You feel it fade as it washes trough, you try to support it, you sense remnants of the power lurking in his hand, you try to grant power to them, expand their strength, anchor them.

Hold it.

*Vrrrtsccchhhh!!!*

Light bursts from Nirdhar's right hand, searing your magical senses...

"I HAVE THE POWER!!"
[Nirdhar has gained new power: Gyrluz/Claw of Light!]
[New power 8/??]

Nirdhar's eyes glow green. You hope he has enough power of his own to do what must be done, your exertions have left you weak, and distinctly tattered feeling.

The Skeleton steps back, wary, glowy eyes are trouble.
Skeleton: -Nice freaking lightshow, ye were so lying about not being a mage, well whatever, so we going to bring this place down or are ye just going to continue yer fun?-

You have an idea, you get Nirdhar to relay it.
"What if the Ooze was zapped by the ss-sphere?"

-Could work...-
"Great!"
-But, it's just as likely to make it magical, a Implacable Gelatinous Ooze is not something I want to come across, things are bad enough without it teleporting or spitting slime constructs!-

-So what is it gonna be? How are ye bringing this place down?-

[This is the last chance for coming up with different solutions to the Ooze problem, I'll be updating sometime tomorrow]
[Out running the Ooze is simple, but the skeleton doesn't wish to leave the ruins unguarded, fleeing from the Ooze would do that. You could try taking down the Skeleton and legging it, but that would be jerkish]

"Right, let's blow this place!"

Nirdhar runs after the Skeleton as it leads him to the surface. He seems to overflow with energy, even as you grimly hold your existence together.

The pale light of Nanlach, shines down upon you.

The Sphere hovers, energy leaping from it to the surroundings, crackling along the runed obelisks standing ominously beside it.

Nirhar pulls a crystal out with his left hand, it begins to charge as soon as it comes in contact with his light claw. Emerald shines within the sullen purple, cracks begin to form, then he throws at the first pillar.

the sphere, further charges the explosion, energy leaping into the crystal. There is a blinding vermillion flash, The obelisk at first appears unharmed, then the runes appear to lift off, the obelisk turns to dust and the glowing grass green runes begin to orbit the sphere.

One by one the obelisks fall, and the sphere... shakes, the green runes constricting it. The final obelisk falls...

The runes twist, then explode outwards the building underneath beginning to crumble, the sphere seems to crystallize, then cracks from all over it, and the pieces fall slowly downwards.

The Sky grows thick with storm clouds! Thunder booms!

"FREEDOM! AT LAST!!"

What appears to be a dragon made of wind, lightening and storms rises from the shattered crystal sphere.

"I ANTIMPAVAROAH, DAUGHTER OF THE ELEMENTAL OF WIND AND A ELDER DRAGON AM FREE!!!"

She beats her wings, causing a thunderous sound, lightning crashes down from her wings, more crystal is shed downwards. Eyes like twin orbs of ball lightning gaze at you( YOU it can see you), Nirdhar and the Skeleton.

"YOU ARE THE ONES WHO FREED ME! I AM GRATEFUL, I GIFT YOU ALL A SMALL PART OF THE SKIES IN YOUR WEAPONS! AND YOU SPIRIT, I STRIKE THE GLORY OF THE STORM INTO YOUR EXISTENCE! IF EVER YOU NEED MY AID, FIND ME IN ERIMAEL!"

Wings of coursing energy explode from what could be said to be your back!
Then with a Clap of thunder and a flash, she is gone!

Skeleton: -Woah, was not expecting that... Well that's the Ooze dealt with for now, need to cross salt water to really escape for good... I guess I done with this place... It's all your fault ye know!-

The Skeleton's hand tightens on the grip of the lance, it looks at Nirdar for a moment, as if checking for something, It untenses, did it find what it was looking for?, or was it that it didn't find something.

{Skeleton}-Bah, a summoner is still a kind of magi! Whatever, yer power was useful, and if ye were after the secrets in that place, ye won't be getting them now...-

"Hey, why don't you travel with me, good sir? I mean ss-since there'sss nothing left here for you... ss-sorry about that. You seem a strong fellow"

-I'm not adverse to the idea of a spot of travel, see how the world has changed, lets get one thing straight first, I am a Woman-

She puts her hand on her hip and... how the Relhs does a skeleton look like it's pouting?

[Nirdhar has not been prepared for this]

"Ah!... S-ssorry, I..." [Nirdhar yabbers senselessly]
[The Skeleton is amused]

-Don't worry your scaly head about it, ye couldn't have know... after all I'm only bones and spirit now-
Her voice grows low at the last bit, but she quickly continues,
-Ah how rude of us both, I am Kyarin Viotellez, what would you be called by my scaly companion?-
"Nirdhar, I am Nirdhar"

-Well, Nirdhar Brighthand, were will we go from here?-
"There is a village nearby..."
-I know of it, it is the reason I am not in rotten rags, I have visited it in disguise a few times, they have a few rumours about me-

"Well then, ss-shall we go?"
-Yes-

** You, Nirdhar and Kyarin head to the village **

As you go you test your powers...
-It appears you can manifest the wings or make them disappear
-The wings are made not of the luminous energy but a crackling one
-The wings have shrunk considerably since you were given them, they cannot be sustained as large wings for long.
-The wings do not bend light but instead split the light into more weaker rays, how curious [new power: Pure Rain]
-The wings can gather free floating power, this makes you feel more whole.
-The wings can shoot out crackling bolts [New power: Lightning Feathers]

[Kyarin Viotellez a female wight has joined your party!]
[Nirdhar has gained another name: Brighthand]
[UNLOCKED: Seen the Ruins, Trashed the Ruins]
Reward: Useful information.
People are uneasy around the undead, for the obvious reasons, however if a dead being's spirit is corrupted it will begin to turn into a wraith, the first sign of this is eyes changing a sickly yellow... The second is the forming of a vile hideous iron-like mask, and the final, the chest collapses inwards. If a wraith has no head while exposed in it's true form, it cannot be saved.

[UNLOCKED: There was a half-dragon in there?]
Hint: Everything has its cost

[UNLOCKED: Totally A Woman]
Reward: Information/hint
Kyarin would be able to see you if you weren't haunting Nirdhar, Also, how old is she? Wait, never ask a lady's age.

[Congratulations You have escaped the ruins!]
[Current objectives: Head to the village]
[Long term objective: Return to Erimael]

Kyarin freezes, and holds a hand out to halt Nirdhar.
-I sense something-

[Roll 1d20, feel free to roll more than once, whatever range had the most hits will be what I'll go with]

Next update I'm using an echo system, basically if you back an existing suggestion it will add an echo to it, making it more powerful, you can also create discordance if you think a suggestion is bad, however if you discord you cannot echo, but you can make a new suggestion, you cannot echo and make a new suggestion, you can however, resonate, basically add to a suggestion or change it a bit. You cannot echo and resonate.

So summary...
Echo: Add more force/voice to a voice(suggestion).
Discordance: Disrupt a voice.
Resonate: Add or partly change a voice.

We'ld better tell Nidhar to get his sword out, and if we can, warn them that you are preparing a "Pyscadellic blast" for use in case whatever it is is dangerous. If that doesn't work we could act as a second set of eyes for Nidhar by pointing out the direction of whatever it is via the IVA.

You see what Kyarin saw approaching swiftly...

[Rolls 4,13,10,15. 13+10 , range 7-13]

Leaugrs! Unpleasant beasts... You know instantly what they are, seems Defiu saw fit to put the contents of several monster compendiums in you.

Leaugr(s)
Behaviour: Predatory, scavenger.
Collective name: A band of Leaugrs
Family: Jaugrwaft
Magic order: Not magical
Sight: low magical
Type: Magifacted
Reproduction: Yes
Threat Rating: Low, keep eye on the flanks Leaugrs prefer to attack the sides or back, will always strike if a weakness is shown.
Strategy: feign an opening then strike.
Size: Smaller than most wolves

Appearance: Long hare like ears, short tufted tail, thin body, Hind quarters are large, forelegs have large finger, appear as multiple legs. Short fur. Has only one eye. Head is short, hooked, front teeth are rodentine and extremely sharp.

Origin:
Modified variant
Modifier: Liokh Balreah of Eyes/Liokh the Handless
Another modified Jaugrwaft, this particular one was unfinished, they were supposed to be able to fire magic from their eye, however with most their eyes exploded when they tried. There have been reports of Leuagrs with functioning eye-beams. It is irregular but pack leaders seem most likely to have functioning eye-beams.

Classification: Pest

You activate IVA.{No Echo}

"Woah"
-Be at ease, it will help you fight-

Pack leader identified, there appears to be at least twenty.
Your Voices swirl as you consider what to do.
The Leaugrs are heading forward and spreading out, the leader is advancing directly.

Kyarin is ready and waiting.

The Ollan the sun has yet to rise.

[IVA appearance can be changed, just say what you want]

Hmmm, they're coming from the front in a line...tell Kyarin to move to the right side, we'll move to the left, backs turned outwards, flanking them. As for the IVA, a circle on the possible leader's head will suffice.
>>
No. 306187 ID: f0e3ae
Leader is coming at you, leader might have the ability to blast with eye... suggested strategy is to feign an opening then strike but I would preemptively try to strike at the leader's eye in a way it does not expect, then if they don't break fight the rest defensively.

Do you think you can blast the leader's eye with magic light or lightening?

You were about to tell Kyarin to move to the right side, and Nirdhar to the left... but then another idea comes to you.

>>306187
(No echo, power low)

-Nirdhar, Point your hand at the leaders eye-
Nirdhar, immediately points at the eye circled on the IVA. For a moment your wings sprout from Nirdhar's back, then a arch of crackling energy leaps from his finger to the eye. It shines brightly and then...

[You have granted Nirdhar a New power!: Finger of Tarn]
[New power 14/??]

It explodes... A few of the Leaugrs are killed by the explosion, the rest flee in terror, there was a reason they were a low threat rating it seems.

You recall from the compendiums you have that Leuagr have a kind of crystal in their eyes, which is valuable as a reagent. The sharp front teeth can be used too. The claws are also useful.

Kyarin: -Well that's one way of taking care of them at least.-

*Nirdhar throws up*

[You have routed the Leaugrs!]

[You have gained the spoils of victory!]
x5 Leaugr eye crystals
x1 High quality eye crystal
x36 Leaugr claws
x20 Leaugr incisors (the leader's ones were destroyed)

Kyarin pulls an obscuring hood over her skull and you proceed to the village.

[You are currently haunting Nirdhar]
[Nirdhar is trilled with victory]
[Nirdhar is feeling a little queasy]
[Nirdhar is glad of your guidance and power]
[Nirdhar is getting tired and Hungry, he will need to sleep soon]
[Kyarin is impressed by Nirdhar's prowess]

[UNLOCKED: Why fight 20 when you only need to fight one?]
Reward: Lore
Liokh Balreah of Eyes, never stopped his magical experiments, even after the Great Restriction was made over Alchemists and Magi. In reality the Great Restriction is only paid lip service, as long as you keep quiet, don't make a homunculus or a race, nobody usually cares. Altered are more accepted than Homunculi. The distinction is; Homunculi are made from scratch, whereas altered beings are just that, altered.

You are almost at the village, you look at the horizon and see...

Wow, that was unexpectedly awesome!
Well, you can see if there is anyone in town who would buy the trophies you got in the last battle. Use the money to get a room in the inn and some dinner. Then look at various shops and look for a hobby, such as playing a musical instrument, following a sport, socializing is good too. And you should see about becoming a proper mage, aka, see if you can find any magic shops with books about magic, or if there is a mage in town who is inclined to teach you.

As you come into the village it becomes clear that they are preparing for somesort of market day. More than that however from the sounds of gossip around you there is to be a wedding. There is also gossip of a hedgewizard who is peddling charms other magic bric-a-brac. The hedgewizard is by all accounts a rogue and has been telling tall tales. He also has a white crow with a foul mouth and a sharp tongue.

Abruptly Kyarin speaks.
-Nirdhar, ye look tired, I have been here before, by all accounts there's a good inn nearby, The Nervous Nymph I believe it is called-

She leads Nirdhar there. He gets a meaty stew and some kind of fruity mead. The price of the room is not large, seeing as Nirdhar has no Leons, She pays. She watches him eat intently. She also gives a tattered layout of the village to look at. You imprint it's image in your mind.

Nirdhar sleeps, and you find yourself released from his body. Evidently you can't haunt an unconscious body.

You consider what to do.
You have some time before Nirdhar's awakening, what do you wish to do?
You can experiment, test things, train yourself etc... now.
[psi crystal, an independent magic familiar idea, loaded, there must be consensus to do this, also a 1d20 must be rolled for how well or badly it goes, careful theory and planning can negate bad rolls]

You can plan what to do at tomorrow.
Points of interest are as follows;
Hedgewizard
Market
Wedding (Is Public, in the town diamond, in the morning)

If you wish to trade for things at the market or with the wizard, or other shops you must roll a d20, and state what it is, proposing how to bargain helps.

List of Inventory;
Rucksack
-x30 Dried meat
-x1 UnNamed Stormblessed short sword, with scabbard and belt
-x1 Crystal Saturated with your essence
-x20 small purple crystal shards (properties unknown/magic absorbent)

It would be a real shame to waste this opportunity by rushing into things. Lets wait until we are more adept at magic and have perform requisite experiments and knowledge gathering.

I am loathe to go too far away from Nirdhar as he might get possessed by an evil spirit, those should be attracted to him at his current state. So lets stay near him, even when outside him we should stay near. This limits what we can do.

First thing first, Kyarin Viotellez just saw us pop out of him. Introduce ourselves as his guardian. Answer what questions she probably has. It is possible that, if she is willing, we could examine that magics that animate her and learn something about necromantic magics. We want to study the magic that makes her “tick” so to speak. Her bones are floating by magic, something we want to learn how to duplicate. And learn what we can about the forces animating her. Also maybe we can add necromancy to our growing magical repertoire

In town, it would be worth it to observe the mage and see if he is legit or a charlatan. We might be able to trade power with him if he is (haunt and draw a skill from him in whatever magic he performs, empower in return). This is if he can even sense us. This should wait until Nirdhar is awake and can walk there with us...

We need to experiment we have a new type of magic (we gained lightening magic, had light magic before) and we should experiment some... preferably a bit out of town (so float out there). But this also has to wait until nirdhar is awake.

Rest of stuff goes in discussion thread. Experiments (with d20 rolls) can wait until we are done talking to her.
