[Wiki: http://quest.lv/wiki/CheeQuest ]

Hello, everyone! It's been a few days since we last talked, but things have been pretty calm. There's no word on my possible banishment, but it's been on our minds. Kradis has been teaching me the basics of surviving outdoors, and I've been at Chop's dojo a lot, either practicing majic with the other healers or fighting a bit too. Fraga taught me how to throw a fireball, too! I can't make a very strong one yet, but it is nice to be able to get warmed up, also to put out fires. After all, the cardinal rule of pyromancy is to never summon a fire you can't put out!

Fraga says that I should work on my concentration in order to use some advanced spells, so I've been hard at work for it.

It's a new day, and Fraga says he can teach me an advanced supportive spells. Which one should I take?

- Imbue an inanimate object with healing energy so that it heals instead of damages people. This takes a moment, so I can't just negate on offensive blade swinging on me.

- Gain strength. This is self explanatory, but apparently it occupies all your magic, and so I can't cast any spells while my (or other's) strength is high!

- Invisibility. This has even more drawback than the strength. Apparently it takes so much concentration, it's near impossible to cast other spells or do anything complex. I guess if it was second nature though, I could do it while invisible.

take imbue, would let you imbue a throwing knife and throw it at a undead thing.
>>

I say go with imbue. We were already on the path of healing and helping people, so let's continue that plan.

Fraga's such a good person, although I suppose it's all for the sake of everyone being the best that they can be. With everything you guys have to put up with, I can understand why that rule is in place.

Imbue. We will be the holy scourge against undead! And also make other people holy scourges against undead! How long does imbue last by the way?

Imbue, then Invisibility.
If you combine those two then you'll be able to imbue a bunch of blow-darts, hide somewhere above a battlefield invisibly, and heal your allies at a distance.

Does imbuing allow you to enchant items and to make them into healing accessories? Ask him to teach you imbuing regardless; once you master it, you'll be even more valuable for the camp, which will cement your position here and discourage any further thoughts of your banishment.
>>

I don't see much value to imbuing, almost any situation where we could use an imbued item to heal, we could just do it manually.

I say invisibility.

I say go with strength so you can throw things and swing stuff really hard. And beat the shit out of Chop hopefully. Imbue is good too, how long does it last? Do enchantments stay forever?

These are some good questions! Let me ask...

>>325373
>>325380
>"For you dude, I'd say an imbue would last a few good minutes after you cast it. It's a real quick spell too, so so long as you got a warning you'll have some ammo. Preferably soft ammo. Normally this is a pretty useless spell, because it has to heal the damage caused, by, ya know, stabbing someone as well. After that, all surplus power goes to where they were hurtin before. But man, your heals are so good, that's no prob."

>>325377
>"Certainly dude, this is kind of the fundamental spell for that. Later on we can get you magicing up an item with more permanent heal charges."

>>325376
>"Uh, no offense there, but even with your magic you may have trouble with 'im. Now, if you casted some strength in Chop... well, I'd rather not think 'bout that."

"Well, I'll keep all of that in mind, but I'd really like the imbue!"

>"Nice choice, specially what with the necromancers. That would cause damage both from the ammo and the heal.

Ask about using healing magic at a distance. Even if it's harder to do and weaker, sometimes you'll want to heal something you can't hit or get into a fight without warning.
Actually, aside from challenging Chop all your fights have been without warning. That could be an issue.
>>
No. 325384 ID: c2c011

Well lets get this show on the road then. Ask him if the imbuing also works for other spells, like if you can imbue a fireball into something now and what effects that would have.

It takes a few hours, but I'm really getting the hang of it!"

>"Yeah man. Geez. We're not supposed to feed your ego too much, but geez. Just a couple days of practice at that and you'll be able to put in the full power of your heal into whatever."

"Is it possible to heal at a distance?"

>"Oh absolutely. I couldn't teach you though, I can barely do it past arms reach, so you'll need to find someone else."

"How about imbueing stuff with fireballs?"

>"Sure, sure. That's a little advanced for your fire skills though, so let's wait on that. Doesn't do anything unexpected though, just acts like the item is on fire. Pretty awesome."

"Okay! Um.. is it just me, or does it sound like footsteps are coming up t-"

Demand instructions from Fraga. He must know what to do.

Also: You can imbue things with healing now, right? With your accuracy, that+thrown objects could be a very powerful combination, getting around the fact that you don't have distance healing yet. You can sit at the back of battles and pop your allies with little bursts of healing whenever they get hurt.

Yell "DWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARVES!" at the top of your lungs. This is important, because it appears your alarm system is based on shouting. Then, make sure you have your ranged weapons. If you don't have any now, pick some up. Then get to where the dwarves are at.

If they're still outside then go out there, have somebody point out their leader and his officers, take a bow, and go from highest to lowest rank putting as many arrows into their dwarf eyes as it takes to make them fall over. Eventually one of them will realize that they're now the ranking officer and order a retreat.

If they're inside then take a bow and start killing dwarves and healing kobolds as you find them.
Keep count of how many you kill, and when the battle is over have somebody tell BeardWizard how many kills you racked up. They'll have a hard time banishing you if you were the most valuable kobold in that fight.

Oh, it seems Kradis knows what's going on and is telling Chop and... is that the chief?

>"Alright, tis not a normal attack. They bring with them the standard fare of two to three dozen, but such are different. Armed and armored to the beard, and discipline to boot. Worse yet, it is my belief a good four of them were full fledged paladins. Nary the paladins that fool around with kobolds and goblins either!"

>"No. These are the Silver Cross. They've taken on rampaging orcish hordes that crushed standard armies, and slain legions of demons and undead beside. We may not be doing battle with the full Cross and instead are looking at four, but what they are doing with us, I am truly afraid to know. They are typical to only be deployed to fry the big fish."

>"Be truthful with me, Kradis. What losses are we looking at?"

>"... with the normal dwarven force, we could expect to lose a few dozen in equal trade, and with excellent deployments of traps and terrain advantage. But the paladins are fearsome. I expect our traps to hardly be a bother, and many kobolds would be needed to give but a chance. We may not afford the luxury, this time, to hide our number as always."

This.. this sounds serious!

These dwarves are going to be armored up. Aim for anywhere there's a chink or gap in the armor, likely around the face or joints. If you think you can manage, throw fire at them.

But, honestly, I think fire is a bad idea. Dont throw fire unless you really think you need to, otherwise you could do more damage than good.

Blargh. Then we'll have to meet him when he gets past all the traps. Meanwhile go back out and snipe some more. Keep the numbers down just in case.

Never mind, switching my plan to this.
It is awesome and practical.

I'd definitely like to keep the plan of putting on the hat at the back.

"Okay, I'm going to go back to sniping! Um, tell me honestly.. how good of a job will our traps do holding them back...?"

>"Honestly? If it is the same paladin, lad..."

FFFFFFFFFFFF, okay charge forward. when in range put that love potion in sling and launch it at his face. just a few drops in his system should mess with him long enough that you can get an opening.

Initiate PLAN OMEGA. The longer you wait, the more of your friends will die.

Everyone who can't take on the paladin (i.e. everyone) and isn't willing to spend their life buying time for the others to escape needs to run. Now. The kobolds can re-occupy these caverns once the dwarven strike force has moved on.

its not chees place to dictate the tribes strategy. we could probably slow him a bit. we can heal very well and are fairly hard to hit. we could harry him and slow him down for a bit. maybe let other kobolds escape, and i'm, fairly certain that the paladin code of conduct means they have to spare an enemy who surrenders.

We can't win this fight. The most you can do is heal someone who is about to die, and accept whatever fate the paladin has in store for you.

You should try to talk to him though. Ask what he wants. Tell him nobody knows what you are, and you don't even know!

Remember, before we initiate Plan Omega, we need to try using the hat on the uber-paladin. If we are lucky, it will deal with that problem once and for all.

Tell it how sad it would be for you to be unmade before you ever experience love-in his current state he might give two shits about that.
