Meh, I figured I should make myself a discussion thread in case anyone wishes to discuss Strata. I'll also dump some of my bigger pixelart projects in here, sometimes.

I'll start with the three protagonists' full portraits, so you guys can see what you missed in the first character select screen.

He could certainly do that- but once you capture the port you basically go back to RTS mode, with the capability to construct more mooks to serve you. Of course, one port might not be enough on its own- the other ports might make a siege force and crush it, so you might have to start carving out an empire by capturing more and more enemy bases.

Have I mentioned that the templates in the Stratum are built directly into Ports? No? Or that there are hidden achievements?

Yeah, I'm stealing a lot of concepts from Golem Quest, one of my faves. Heck, the Templates were inspired by the Deepspawn Cores.

Oh, also. The images are 200% pixel size now. Should make them a bit easier to read.

I got bored and tried making some pixelart of my own drawing.

I did more than a few changes to the chest armor, and removed the chest guns (too much detail, not enough space). Hey, it's my own concept art :P

This version's in a standing position- I'm not really sure if I'm going to put Keddic's head poking out above Bang's head or just give him the huge red blood wings period.

There's a chance it might end up becoming something completely unrelated to Golem Quest, as it stands right now, though. I'm thinking about scrapping the extra arms and changing the huge blades to primary hand-held blade things.

Actually, on further consideration, there's several possibilities for the non-multiarmed version in terms of weaponry.

Dual hugeass swords, single hugeass sword, hugeass scythe, etc.

Let’s see how this works. You are an 18 year old girl who just graduated High school and is trying to get into college when you’re accosted by a strange figure. You live with your parents in St Lucian Canada a City of 300,000.

Inventory: Cell phone with the number for ‘Calvin de bois’

Resources : One Blood point. (May be spent to temporally increase physical Strength for a limited time or to heal damage taken)

It is notable that this character is basically a cripple with 1 strength, has no ability to lie whatsoever, has negligible perceptive ability, and doesn't know how to actually do anything useful at all.

>>

basically this sheet for some reason has attributes at (2/2/2) and abilities at (3/2/0) I won't go into the rest of it, but a mortal would usually have attributes starting at (6/5/3) and abilities at (11/7/4) if I remmember.

oh and if this character is a ghoul, spending that ONLY BLOOD POINT would have pretty nasty consequences, though the dominor could just be a hardass about it.

You all bring up good points. The original intent behind the low stats was to create a new base to allow more comparative difference between people. In ‘vampire the masquerade’ the statistical average for a human stat was 2.5. Humans in that setting were only allowed to reach 5. So someone that’s fairly or perhaps extremely intelligent say a 4 and the smartest person in the world 5 have a 1 point difference. The max 5 rule also held true for vampires in the setting for anyone who wasn’t better than 8th generation if memory serves (though this did have the occasional exception.) I really should have said something since the character sheet itself conveys the conventions of the setting and even if everyone viewed it with a blank slate the numbers would only be relevant to themselves since I didn’t even bother to mention a 2 in one state equals 2 in another stat.
Thus my bad, revamped character sheet.
Will power may be spent to add one automatic success to any action.
Blood may be spent to heal or increase a physical attribute for a scene.
Merit: Rabbit and Wolves- Your character phases between two states.
In Wolf state your character does not suffer Virtue or Humanity rolls for their actions, the character no longer reads as human to perceptions and is instead perceived as a vampire. While in wolf state your character takes bashing damage from sunlight. Auspex and other supernatural perceptions must make a contested roll equal to the point cost of this merit to try and piece the illusion.
In Rabbit state all health penalties are reversed instead granting a bonus, any attacks you make are considered aggravated damage, while in this state you are subject to frenzy rolls for any physical want need or desire you fail to sate.
The characters phase will naturally shift based upon events around them and time spent in the other phase. Spending a point of willpower may allow a forced phase shift. This incurs a self con

Well I'm used to running quests on here so that's not as big of a problem. If it's somthing like a cut that'll be easy enough to resolve but I can see the problem for bigger panels.

At least get some basic ones done. Standing, walking, running, crouching and also different angles besides left and right.

The quest takes place in a world similar to an Early-Middle-Age Earth (while I detest comparing the setting to an existing world, I think this better illustrates the atmosphere of the setting). This is a time when the need for permanent residence is prevalent, as many races begin to settle in their respective places. As everyone start their switch from hunting nomads to cultivators of their lands, their cultures develop continually. However, most of the races are oblivious to the existence of the other, and as such there is little interaction between races.

The quest focuses on a particular continent named Meritica. Meritica is "a coninent that stretches out from the mountaineous regions of Shri Manda to the hundred islands of Menue".

The history of the world is more focused on the development of races. From the race of goblins, for example, came out different groups who underwent a series of conquest around the continent simply to create more settlements for their own race, though they were cut off from each other after other races emerged from nomadicity. This resulted in a great abundance of goblins living in different habitats, as well as some pioneers of technology being of goblinoid origin.

Technology is very limited. In an ordinary village, one only needs enough to survive, and little improvements are done over the years. An exceptional leap from this is the invention of currency, which originated from a simple hypothesis that "the value of anything can be resembled to a certain amount of a unit" (who or where the hypothesis originated from is unknown; a popular rumor is that it came from a fisherman). Because settlements are usually far away from each other, the spread of technology and knowledge is slow. The tribes that enjoy the same a

Resilm
Race: Artiods
Habitat: Desert

The spiritualistic Resilms are well-known for their strong faith in "the planes of existence", and so prepare themselves for the ascension to their next lives. These bipedal Artiods stand proud over their beliefs and adhere strictly to the wisdom of their elderly and wise. They are usually seen as a tightly-knit community with little interracial interaction, as they see other races as highly improbable to understand their behavoir and thus have the ability to taint their faith with their presence. Spiritualistic as they can be, they can be very hostile and unforgiving to trespassers and violators, being able to harbour a strong hatred for those who intentionally cause harm to their ascension.

Oh also testPattern i feel like I should clarify the Sofiya/Aldo mindreading thing. They can't do it, it's just that I write their narration arguing instead of dialogue sometimes because it's fun and I feel like the two-narrator thing is Ballad's gimmick. It's nothing major in the actual adventure, it's just how I tell the story. They can't read each others' minds and if they're apart, then don't assume either one knows what the other does.

Some information about the setting.

The Skyway is a tangible place, high above the earth, where Sol makes her endless journey, guarded by the four commanders of air. There are only four air-aligned people of your status (including yourself), and you're the only one who's been to ground level.

Q: Do the ones of other status have blue hair?~
A:Water commanders have green hair, Earth has brown hair, and Fire has orange hair.

Q:What is the hair color of the other people of the skyway?
A:Sol's hair is radiant;the captain's hair varies by captain;and the Sylph's hair is the color of the wind.(Transparent unless they want to be seen. If they want to be seen, it's the color of whatever's nearest)

I started Tinker Quest without any plot whatsoever. The readers are free to choose between characters, and little plot or character information is needed for the readers to be able to suggest what to do. While I admit that I find it easier to run Tinker Quest than any other quests, I felt it wasn't helping me with characterization and plot.

And thus Bounty Quest was born.

As much as I appreciate your comments about Tinker Quest, I do want this to be realized: I aim to improve. You already mentioned that I haven't really worked on my writing much, and that same notion drove me to start Bounty Quest. This way, I get to hear what you think about the things I lack.

Bounty Quest went off to a rocky start, as I was not able to deliver a very good introduction. It jumps off to an immediate point with little explanation whatsoever (which I blame on my constant struggle to create an actual starting point), and the character seems to be violent than ever. It was my intention to portray the character as lacking in terms of morality, but I fail to deliver a backstory to support this stance. Nonetheless, I'm continuing with it, since I believe I owe the readers, including you, an explanation for all this before I consider my quest an epic failure.

Bounty Quest isn't a fanservice quest. It isn't an angst-only quest. It's simply me treading on unfamiliar grounds, and trying to keep my balance steady. I wish that you stick around for a little while longer while I manage myself to bring a half-decent plot and characters: something I cannot do in Tinker Quest.
>>
No. 25453 ID: e31d52
>something I cannot do in Tinker Quest.

But you are. It's weird that you recognize what you're doing wrong, but not what you're doing right! Tinker is full of likable, enjoyable characters, and it doesn't feel tied down to a 'plot', instead growing one organically that we feel much more influential in.

Again I'm going to point to my own success and try to drive you from there. In Hat Quest, I had no prewritten plot either. If you're looking for it, this becomes evident by the way the plot turns so rapidly (Coyote is the villain! No, Clown is! No, both are!) but it's important to note that plots can emerge from almost nothing. If you watch your suggesters, and take note of how they react to situations, you can more easily craft a story for them.

Quests are powerful in this sense that they give this feeling of power to people who normally, as observers, don't have it. They bring change and resolve issues present in the world, and this satisfies them.

My point here is that You don't need to write a plot ahead of time. Sometimes, it can even hurt you. Instead, it's better to start as vague as possible, perhaps with a small goal, and let it grow from there. Hatquest was originally going to go from Hattori destroying the Hat and taking over the world, instead, the suggesters made him a hero and saved the world. The less defined your story is, the easier it is to tailor it and refine it in a way that your audience enjoys.

You're doing this in Tinker already, perhaps without even realizing.

The point is, when players know there's a story already, they're more likely to simply give up, and follow it blindly, then blame you for terrible writing.

Less restriction in Quests is generally better. There are some examples where it's not, but for you, I t

If I've learned something here is that I'm not a good quest seller. I can't draw, I can't write -- I feel like a retard. And I don't care about it. All I want is tits.

I'm not putting anything in the quests page, reason: trash, before at least some readers accept it in the dis.

What I'd like to run is a quest taking advice from "Quest Advice: All in one place", but completely "losing" it. A degoratory name for the quest is mad quest - the name of the quest wants to be psi quest.

In fact I'd be interested to tap into an universal visual language with textual cues? Crazy. In practise it is:

I'm before a blank paper. Ideas come to me, but they're just ideas. If I turn on my 'draw' action, something starts to come out of my brush. What the heck! If I have sense at all then that expression has sense in it. Like if I open my mouth and speak, those words have sense in them right? Like these. So that's the visual language. Most of the drawing will be incomprehensible, maybe the amount of information will be minimal per update. The updates will look like made by someone who can't draw a stick figure or paint a ball. The things is that the must have life in them from my consciousness and subconsciousness just like I can't stop the chatter of my own thoughts I can't stop the artistic expression, or madness. Maybe this quest is mad. Maybe we just want working information, form and language for our thoughts.

If not, I'm after mindreading, seeing and psiing.

This quest would have a visual style. I use a couple of complementary colors which evolve into black together.

Then is time for You to show interest. If this doesn't catch wind I'm off this site.

Sometimes I think that maybe interpreters don't have much time to last, that by the next decade they're going to become a marginal hafl-dead profession, like saddlers or something.

And then I see one of these threads, and my faith is restored.

It's interesting though that different language groups produce substantially different kinds of gibberish when fed to Google Translator.

them slangs man. they are untranslatable.

and there are elements in the syntax that cant really be recognized by computers so easily. it gets worse when you consider figures of speechs, metaphors and the likes.
