so here i was thinkin, qwern is trapped under a female tentacle beast that likes him for setting him free and was bought by elves...

so, a couple years later, in a gladiator arena very far away from goldplatedfortress, a gladiator will be very confused when that cage opens up to a few babies, qwern and a tentacle demon...

positive and negative are still variables. You see... They should appear in the later JamesQuest but only with a little luck. How ever if they do they will probably play a strong role. Weather there friend or foe may vary on the faction and other choices you make through out the quest and other quests for that mater.

basically the "Deepkin" which is a temporary name until I find a better one (name suggestions would be nice)

>>336778

are a race of amphibian humanoids. they appear in Blakequest and may exist in Jamesquest.

the females eat mostly fruit. they do chew there food (although not illustrated here) how ever more often than usual they swallow things whole an stash it in there second stomach. which contains a slimy slime. than conserves food and other things... like pickle jus only slimyer and with out the prickly taste. they can regurgitate the food for eating purposes or as a gift.

>>336777

yes they do. they have sex with males through there vagina and then lay eggs with there tail. needless to say (seeing how I'm a pervert) the tail is a strong sexual point for the deepkin. to stoke it is very arousing. similar to cutebolds and there noses.

they need air to breath and water to remain hydrated otherwise they dry out and die. they breath through the holes in there chest to avoid chocking while swallowing.

they have two fully functional arms inside there body's that can squirm all the way out there mouth (up to the shoulder). both arms lead to the second stomach. the arms can be very useful for a number of things: (four armed sword fighting, grabbing stuff, driving, eating, giving a handjob and a blowjob simultaneously...)

there Intel is a little higher than savages. how ever the males are a little smarter than wolfs. and larger.(males can grow to be up to 18 feet hight and hardly resemble the females). there is only one male to a pack and many females (like lions).

sorry for the wall of text. if there are any other questions please feel free to ask.

well, now you need to show us a male one, and i assume their super elastic nature extends to all parts of their body.
>>

also, think the mouth arms need to be skinnier, just not enough ROOM to fit two of those things in there and leave enough space for organs.
>>

Huh. So what's the extent to which the various orifices (And the stomachs and bodies) could be stretched?

That, and could they preserve other things aside from food in their second stomachs such as living creatures?

is based on the fact that the males are supposedly HUGE so ether they have tiny dicks or the females are super elastic.
>>
No. 27006 ID: 51d4c6

>>336793
well yes a more loose female could in theorie swallow a living creature like a human, and even store someone in her stomach.(thought it would be a tight fit) the human how ever would not last long in there. unless he/she can breath slime that is. but the body would be perfectly preserved and edible months later.
>>
No. 27017 ID: 51d4c6

>>336788
ok I'm gonna level with you. I have an idea of what the males look like. but I'm no good a drawing it. my last five efforts have been horrible failures. so instead I'll give you a mental rendition.

the male stand extremely tall but generally hunch them self's to level with the rest of the world. there faces are similar to that of a wolf. they posses four ears on the side of there heads. and there eyes are quite strange. (they have two eye sockets, but have ten eyes(five in each socket)) the eyes are long and stretched down the side of the head. the mouth posses three rows of teeth, (two on top one on bottom) they are covered in dark purple fur. they have a humanoid body. nothing to out of the ordinary. there hands are strong and webbed. there back feet are long and stand on there toes like a rabbit. thought claws make the feet a lethal weapon. the tail is very long and menaces with webbed spikes that serve as a swimmer (like a shark tail)

its common to see algae and sea life such as seaweeds and other plants growing on the male deepkin. this is because contrarily to the female who breath air, the male needs to be in water to breath through its gills. how ever it hunts as well on land as in the water. that being that it posses two large sacks on its neck that hold water. once full the male deepkin can walk freely on land for up to 2hours.

the male deepkin does not posses the females stretchy attributes. the water sacks on its neck resemble a large muscly neck once full. the penis of a male deepkin is somewhat large. but not to much that a female would need to use her stretchy power to take it. (8-12 inches) and posses a unusual curve to it (pointing upwards it bends downwards and lifts again ( ~ )) although for the record a female could take abnormal large sizes. (probably for pornographically reasons)

the male breeds constantly with its mates. that being that it lives in packs. the pack consists of one male and many females. the male hunts for its own food seing that it eats meat and the female harvest fruits since they eat just that. but the females tend to share with each other. the male regularly marks his territory a little everywhere, including his females. this is done by spreading urine. the male can some times save a mate by urinating on them. keeping them hydrated (since they die if dried out) doing this claims the female as part of his pack. but the males are territorial and will fight for a remarked female. the males intelligence is no greater than a wild animal but can some times speak simple words that may threaten other creatures. a dog responds to barking. snakes take to hissing and humans don't like the word KILL! thought amphibians and can live on land they prefer water, and are excellent swimmers.

well there... sorry no pic and to much text. any other questions?

You need to put in differentiation between people when they are talking so we can tell what line belongs to who. Several ways to do this. Always be consistent and have the main character use the same style.

Sergals are more mainstream, yeah, but I think Trancy Mick has pretty much given anyone permission to use them how ever they want, so long as it remains non profit or something (not including commissioned art). The best way to avoid a bad rep when borrowing species like this is to try and not get carried away with them, or get as much information on the species as possible to keep them still somewhat like the source material. For Lohrkes, feel free to PM me or something for information, or check the Journey Quest Wiki

I have nothing against sergals. I just have a lot for them. No offense, but you won't do them right. Which isn't exactly a sin, sure, but I also don't like people taking them out of the setting to gratuitously throw them into their own, just because they "need more races".
>>
No. 27515 ID: 12cc58

>>337311
you right about that one I would rather develop my own ideas then just use other peoples. but sergals like cutebolds are just normal here on tg like elfs and goblins...

but for reference sake I only created a few sergal characters.(3) and It would be a bother to redesign there entire ego, but I put a twist seeing that there bioenhanced mutants.

yah I know real original right. but you could look away from there origins this way.

as for the Lohrkes I never really planned on using them, they were actually just an example. but since I got permission I may as well use it right? still I'm considering if I should even put them in it.

I'm not lecturing you. even thought it might seem so, I just really need to talk to some body and due to the nature of this site, conversations tend to be really one sided.

oh one more thing... due to my ambition to make a series of quests I designed the world they all happen in to be small like that you can have pointers and renditions from and for other quests. that being said since not all quest are the same (A: Qwernquest - Blakequest) and since I wanted there to be a wide multitude of race and thus characters. I based my world on a series of other worlds that already exist (A:animal crossing, dwarf fortress, dnd, monsterhunter,tg and much much more...) but I didn't just take stuff from everywhere and copy the rest, I created a lot too. I created about 17 different races for my various quests.

well I'm done ranting. I hope this put us on common grounds, my goal is to make quests that every one can enjoy and that means listening to what peoples want to see. so for you I'll emphasize my own races.

oh and for the synxes there in 3rdPenny because there outlandishly creepy and I just cant beat it. but there not even that important, like the other bad guy that you don't see a lot.

However I wanted to post in this thread to say that you've got a lot of potential, Flynn. You've got a somewhat interesting premise, higher than average artistic talent, and enough controversy to run a small controversy-factory. HOWEVER, I think all this can be infinitely improved were you to put a little more effort into the editing process. Take a minute or two to read over your posts for spelling and/or grammatical errors, and take the time to actually write out the characters' names in dialogue as Rover:, Blake:, etc, rather than saving time and doing R:, B:, etc. It makes it much more professional and respectable, improving overall quality greatly, at least in my opinion.

But DAT ART, DAT CHARACTERS, man. You're doing well.

:D

Don't get mad/upset/displeased with Flynn doing what /quest/ asked for. If /quest/ really wants it we can explicitly tell Blake that he's solo on this one. (Not being interested in or participating in the quest and only dropping by to tilt the vote in that one situation, for or against, is highly unethical and should be discouraged or disallowed.)
>>

That's like the "vote with your wallet" argument: fucking retarded, because it never works. There's always someone with no apparent lower bound on what they'll burn a bored five minutes on. See Pink Dragon, Alceris (it got 'real' suggestions right up to near its end), or Golem Quest.
>>
No. 27714 ID: 9b8e57

Just going to come out and say it, 'nothing' is creepier than sub-par writing or artwork trying to be erotic. This is one of the many reasons I've tried to avoid it in my quests, becasue feel I cannot write or draw to standards at this time.

There is also another thing to consider, when some posters know you will simply draw 'anything' suggested, your suggestions are going to start getting really, really damn weird. In that case all the 'normal' (ie: just wanted a story) posters are just going to hide the thread and move on (as well as possibly mocking you on elsewhere.) As you should see by the latest suggestions, you have now stepped deep into the "over 50% of all suggestions below this line will be explicit trolling" zone.

Bottom line here, sex in quests; safest to avoid until you know you are 'very' good at portraying it.

Well I for one am not going to berate a new author/artist for trying something new. Constructive criticism here, people.

Anyway, as for my take on this, I think it's best if you figure out what you're aiming for and go with that. I mean you've made a quest for a reason, right? If it's to tell a story, then tell a story, and leave the parts YOU consider unimportant out. If you want to please your audience, then you gotta do your best to gauge the way your audience will see things and react as appropriately. Based on what I've seen on /quest/ so far and what people seem to like, sexual scenes tend to be best received if they're played off in a semi-comedic-yet-romantic manner with a HEAVY utilization of the "fade to black" or "off-screen scene." Description doesn't seem to be important, especially erotic description, and going with what the other people have said, unless you feel that you can really NAIL something, it's best not to approach it in any serious manner.

Don't have a nervous breakdown because people didn't like a few updates. People want you to have a quality quest, and aren't going to be truly upset with you unless you start acting like a jerk. So relax, go with the flow, use more fade to black in the quest itself.

I think you did a very good job with the kiss with Rover scene, and not just saying that because I like him more than straight-jacket girl. >.> However, you definitely shout note that this board IS technically a -chan, and as a result you're going to have a whole slew of different types of people, some of whom will enjoy nothing more than making you hate life. Some of us, however, are along for a more feel-good ride. You can't go back and change the past but you can always strive to learn from it and grow in a positive way. While I definitely do not promote the idea that one should refrain from any type of criticism, I do believe criticism should be constructive and helpful, and those who wish to limit their comments to simple mockery or degradation ought to just direct their attentions toward more positive things.

Anyway, Flynn, just keep on truckin' and go with what your gut tells you. You're not obligated to do anything here, but if you like doing it then go ahead and do it. If you're looking for a bit more social interaction with this site, maybe more interpersonal criticism, head on to the IRC where enough of us hang out and maybe you'll have a good time, maybe not, but who knows?

redroot is a common illness amongst terrakin (animalkin) it is caused by prolonged exposure to dirty rags, cloths and leathers. the illness starts in the skin. in this stage it is undetectable. within a few days it spreads into the small red spots. redroot can be removed trough the application of medicine to the contaminated spot. how ever due to fur. it can sometimes be difficult to locate redroot at the first few stages. the third stage is marked by the spreading of the spots into a large rash on the general contaminated area. the main difference between a normal rash and redroot is that a rash mostly affects the skin were redroot affects the flesh as well. the third stage is also marked by searing pain. similar to most rashes only far worst due to the nature of the illness. redroot is named as such due to the main ingredient in the medicine. (bell tree root) the roots of bell trees are a vibrant red beneath the bark. if left untreated. (this is rare since redroot medicine is cheap) redroot can attain its latter stages. also known as greyroot. greyroot is... far worst. where redroot is a mere painful rash. greyroot is a full out flesh eating disease. the contaminated areas slowly melt away revealing bone and cartilage. greyroot is known as such not due to the medicine. but the color of the infected areas. medicine for greyroot is very expensive. generally if you cant afford redroot medicine. you cant afford greyroot medicine. thus the most common cure for greyroot is bullets. professor Maggoty Salem discovered in 1765 that greyroot eats away at the flesh by corrupting the white blood cells and causing them to attack the infected flesh. destroying the body slowly.

Geoffrey is an Ixizoi. (i-xi-zo-i) the ixisoi are a intelligent race on par with humans. they don not posses necks. there head merely float above there shoulders. they float due to mystical force. the head can be removed and reattached with out immediate consequences. the "neck" (mystical force) does how ever have a force of about twenty pounds. (it would take the strength to lift twenty pounds to detach an ixisoi's head.) once detached the head is still conscious and fully capable. the body how ever is lifeless. if the body is not feed it will die of hunger. a head can not reattach to a dead body. nor can it attach to a body that is not its own.

males do not posses eyes. they do how ever see life. to them it appears as a glow about things that are alive. they can also see things that were alive. the glow how ever is faint. (a wooden table for example would still be visible) females have eyes but can not see life. all ixizoi are color blind.

ixizoi have tails that help balance. they are much taller than most humanoid species. (males range from 6-8 feet where females range in the 5 feet) females have very large hands.(generally 1foot long and proportional to human hands)

ixizoi do not eat food. they eat life. this is seen a blue, green, red or orange mist (depending on the nature (animal blue, plant green, fungus red, other generally orange.)) flowing from there food into there mouths. ixizoi only get hungry about once a week. small animals like cats or rabbits (not Blake or Rover. actual rabbits... feral things) are enough to satisfy most ixizoi. some more rich ixizoi may consume human food and not swallow only to savor the taste of meat or other foods. (they don't have necks or throats. how COULD they swallow?)

ixizoi are quite different than most in there sexes. the males you see carry the children and the females inseminate the males. (simply put... there all a bunch of dickgirls and cuntboys) the males naturally grow large beards. like a dwarf. they how ever, unlike dwarfs, cut there beards incessantly. the beards you see. grow at alarming rates. a bald face will grow to a dorf caliber beard in only a week. so a small tame beard for ixizoi is a sign of culture, discipline and respect. it also attracts females. quite like how large breasts attracts human males. small beards are sexy. none how ever is somewhat disgusting. like breasts that are too large.

females with large breasts often enjoy flaunting them off. it is not uncommon to see a female ixizoi walk around topless. males how ever tend to react negatively to seeing there chests. its considered disgraceful for any ixizoi to have a flat chest. male or female. women tend to wear the pants in that society.

they are strongly encrusted in human society. this is due to there technological advancements around the year 370. they seem to have some cultural similarities to the haruny (also known as temporal dust bunnies) and the timezelus (no spoilers will be offered as for these last two races. it would ruin Jamesquest)

Bronx is the ixizoi capital. its large and very industrial. there is a brown smog at ground level in almost all sectors of Bronx that blocks out a lot of color and causes most thing to be seen as brown or sepia... the ixizoi don't seem to notice however. especially not the males.

I think it's mainly your punctuation and capitalization. Many of your sentences lack capital letters at the beginning. Also, you tend to post run-on sentences without punctuation marks to separate them.

Example:

>I'm not very familiar with this board can anyone explain it?
Should have been:
>I'm not very familiar with this board. Can anyone explain it?

Also, you don't use commas.

Some common typos I've seen include:
there =/= their ("there" indicates a location; "their" is a plural possessive)
however =/= how ever ("however" is one word)

since I HATE rendering my pictures, I'm gonna start just posting my hand drawn versions. (seriously I'm doing this with a mouse you know) when I get a tablet I'll go back to digital. Or if you all find it to be an eye sore I'll have no choice but to please. Until then please enjoy my artwork.

Furthermore. After doing a few sketches I fell in love with a few new characters in Blakequest. How ever I'm sad to say that it would be illogical for blake or Eden to get the chance to really get to know these characters very well, and they start being important really late in the story. So since I like them so much I'm considering doing a one shot involving them that parallels Blakequest.

If anyone wants to see the sketches just ask. And if your interested in learning more about this other quest I don't mind giving some previews.

Personally I enjoy conversation and description. The more there is, the more content there is to the story, and it's rather necessary if you're using your quest in a large-scope setting. If it's a very close-to-reality setting or one that's deliberately vague (such as in many "You Awaken In A Facility" quests) shorter posts are more appropriate, but if you want to color a big picture, you need a lot of ink.

I am raging. Two seconds in google would tell you that spiders have eight legs and a cephalothorax. (i.e. not a separate head). I mean, I knew that in elementary school - who the fuck doesn't know how many legs a spider has, at least? I find the three body segments more forgivable, but I still do not forgive you for it.

allow me to explain. They are not spiders but rather large bugs, known as lurkers. They live in dens dug at the bottom of lakes and other large water masses. they hunt their prey by striking them with their jelly fish like tentacles, paralyzing them then dragging them into the water drowning their victims. They do not spin webs, but do have venomous stingers in their abdomens.

Blake didn't know what they where and assumed they were spiders since he didn't know how else to call them.

but yes, they are far from being arachnids.

I'm still trying things here. so combat scenes, Eden and other things in this quest may not be perfect.

I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this quest, I have yet to specifie a main quest. But through trial and error I've concluded what it wont be:.. Although it does contain Romance, It's not porn quest, this was confirmed immediately after during the sex scene, since I'm incompetent as an artist.

BlakeQuest is sorta like a beta. Really just building up Quest experience for my other quests.

But yah... I'm gonna log off for a few days. I'm not feeling my self, and I might start a new quest... A short one, probably Guss Quest. It'd be like a prequel to Qwern quest.
>>
No. 29812 ID: af0e5c

I'm sorry to tell you, but all quest experience is not good quest experience. Knowing how to make a quest half the board actively avoids is not very good preparation for a real quest, unless you do the exact opposite of what you did before.

my goal exactly. Creating a "bad" quest was an accident. An accident I will not reproduce. this is what is called trial and error.

More over to insure that my next Stories don't fail as much it would be nice to get constructive criticism, in order to help me learn. This is not an excuse to troll or rage, just help out a fellow artist.

I already know about the sex scene problem. But could you point out some other reasons why you don't like my quest?

I don't think people are generally overly harsh on this site. They hardly complain about any quest at all.

>>339621
Maybe it's partially your trial and error tactic that's responsible for the circumstance, that your quest is not working for me.
You mash too many genres that just don't work well together in an attempt to test, which one works best for you. While a reader generally will accept the most obscure plot point as long as it fits the genre, if you combine too many genres and stack too many different elements in a short amount of time it might put the reader off.
This means that if you keep combining ear sex, fire magic, memory shards, shonen style battle confrontations, slice of life drama, etc. the outcome doesn't work - at least not for me.

Also your trial and error tactic creates the problem, that you can't establish what kind of world your quest takes place in, because you are trying out different settings. When your character suddenly can use magic it should have been established from the beginning, that using magic in this world is a possibility (unless you're writing in a setting where that's assumed automatically - I wouldn't have any complains if it would be suddenly revealed, that some people can cast spells in a high fantasy setting for example).

Those were some of the reasons why I stopped reading this quest in the middle of the first chapter, but since you still have some players who seem to enjoy it, maybe those points raised by me are not universally loathed.

Thank you. I see my problems now, That being said aside from the combat style. (Because BlakeQuest was supposed to have action in it.) I'm pretty sure where I'm going now.

Basically, my plan from here on out is as followed... In BlakeQuest, You (Eden) attempt to uncover the dark and mysterious past of Blake Steelheart, as well as your own. As a side story, Blake eventually has to choose a faction from a small list, not only to find out more about him self but also to help save/destroy/neutralize the world/human race/all life on the planet. (this is a difficult choice. fortunately you only need to make a choice this big one or twice.)

Adorned with character development and the occasional fight scene. Blake quest also offers a sorta custom character system, since Blake has no real personality the choices you influence him to take alter who he is. as well as the occasional memory fragment. (the fact that you don't have to watch them changes how Blake develops.)
>>
No. 29832 ID: 412c0b

as a resume: fights and self discovery.

also, I'd want to develop on the world since most of my other plans for quest take place in the same world. I've tried hinting towards some of the facts of life in Terramore, but it woulds seem I'll have to be more direct. As you may have noticed I love writhing long walls of text that explain the various races and species of Terramore. But I understand if no one likes reading them.

Once again thank you for your criticism.

Personally I avoid your quests because you mashed sergals in ham-handedly, one of my worst pet peeves.

If you want to know how to mash sergals in with elegant grace, go read CBSF.

Of all the things to avoid Blake Quest for, getting mad at non-canon Sergals is hilarious given that Mick can't keep Vilous canon straight.
>>
No. 29843 ID: 412c0b

>>339636

Yes. I understand why I should not use sergals. In fact I have decided to avoid them in my stories completely. I simply do not understand them enough to think I may use them for but one instant. the idea that I could was a mistake of height magnitude. Blakequest does, how ever posses one particular red furred sergal faced individual that was unfortunately identified as sergal but will not be remembered as such. Your statement and prior statements were real eye openers and I thank you greatly.

also, unfortunately CBSF is an unfamiliar acronym to me. please explain or post a link to with I could read it. Thank you.

Okay so
I'm not very active, and I only read a few quests

But in my honest opinion, this quest is just so convoluted and full of just so much thrown-in stuff

I'm not some kind of quest-judge or whatever but it just seems like this quest doesn't have any idea where it wants to go, I guess.

>>

>>339711

yeah, I've been struggling to push the quest in some direction lately.

You see, as for Blake quest its self, the idea was that an array of possible outcomes would be possible and Eden would be able to choose WHERE the quest leads Blake. That's why I made a lot of characters for /Quest/ to socialize with and eventually chose and pick favorites. I had planned a possible 25 ending and am willing to end with neither one of them, the quest can go in five possible directions and if willed you can forge new ones.

I should have been more obvious about this, I just assumed that letting Eden choose the main quest in chapter one would do the trick, but I was mistaken. (although, for a moment the main quest was really to crush mountains and obtain boats.) Soon the real main quest should be easy to grasp and define.

also, here's a little tip. Blake is not the main character. Eden is.

Okay, that's another thing-

I know it's a discussion and all, but it seems like you're the only one discussing, really

Plus, you really shouldn't like, tell the readers what you have in store, or what's coming up next.
That'd be like if a webcomic author telling his viewers exactly what's going to happen in the next issue/page/strip/etc.

Hey now. Look BlakeQuest got a bad reception but the guy's trying his darnest to improve himself and create something people will enjoy. Can't y'all at least respect that? This is the correct place for announcements and to give/receive criticism, so I see no problem in anything going on in the thread. I still think people are trying way too hard to make a pariah out of this guy who is doing his best to be open to making a better story.

I have nothing against you as a person or an author.
The reason I dislike BlakeQuest (a dislike I haven't been vocal about) stems purely from the quest itself (f.eks, the infamous ear-sex scene).

That is to say, I won't ignore another quest you may decide to make, simply because of my dislike of BlakeQuest.

Well, it started off alright enough, I'll admit, but it just seemed to lose a lot of steam fast. It seems like the whole thing has ADHD and can't focus on a central plot, or even -why- we are doing anything. Too many things are being introduced after the other, but that's just me.

Also the random sex scene was a BIG NO NO. I mean if you want to throw in some minor fanservice here and there that's fine, but straight up sex was just a bad idea.

Another thing would be a switch in the artstyle; it just adds to the whole inconsistency of the whole thing.

In all, it seems BlakeQuest was made to cater to
the supposed likes of others rather than being
your own thing.

I doubt anyone would boycott you if you made another quest, though.

yeah I wasn't sure where I wanted to bring this quest either, but I think I know it now.
as for the sex scene... yeah I agree with you, crappy sex scenes belong on other sites, besides what's the average age group here anyways?
the art style can be explained quite simply. I did almost all of chapter 1 with a mouse, I don't own a pad. Eventually I just got pissed at it and started drawing everything by hand. But yeah it sorta clashes when you read it, I'm sorry. I'll avoid changing to drastically.

that being said thank you very much for your support. I feel very sad these days and I feel that the world hates me. But it makes me feel better to know that you don't all hate me for messing up once or twice. Thank you :)

I'm going to go ahead and reinforce what the previous posters have said. Sex in a quest isn't necessarily a bad thing, the trick is pulling it off TASTEFULLY. Like a simple fade to black. Keep it cleverly censored (like the most recent update to Oren), and don't get too freaky with it.

Also, here's a little tip that could help. Make yourself a list. On this list you will write down specific important plot points you want to have happen, in chronological order. Not every single thing you want to have happen in the quest, just the really important stuff, like going to Town X, or acquiring magic gubbin #4. What happens in between these different plot points is the suggestions that come from your readers.

And it's been iterated on this board time and time again, and it will continue to be re-iterated: Have a planned end goal for your quest. This way you have something to work towards instead of "well derp what do we do now?"

This may seem a bit random, but I kind of liked the original art style better. It was more distinctive, and the thicker lines made things seem a bit more solid. The current style is good too, I just prefer the old one a bit.
