I think the facility is there to study the effects of the implants on people. It seems like everyone has lost their memory, so perhaps they are studying basic personality effects from implanting.

The AI is designed to keep them moving around and looking for a way out, so that group dynamics and adaption can be studied.

At least, that seems possible.

I'm not entirely sure the ai *is* an ai - it has the male/female split personality, sometimes sounds more or less machine-like. It could be someone just pretending to be an ai, or maybe it's an evangelion-ish thing that actually did used to be our mom/dad.

The inclusion of the masks has just completely thrown me for a loop - thusfar everything we've seen has had at least a vaguely explainable/'realistic' mechanism. But those masks, if they don't work via some sort of weird interface with brain implants, are CONFUSING AS FUCK.

Something went wrong when I tried it out. I just see four purple dots starting at the top (two on each side) make their way down and in before fading, and one purple dot on the outside of the box. Not to mention that only the central box is black and the rest is white. Screenshot included.
