The quest archive changes the post numbers to the order in which they were archived, rather than the order in which they were originally posted. This breaks the links between posts, making it harder to follow conversations in the threads.

Can the archive be set up to retain the original post numbers?

I'm talking about posts which reference other posts by number, like this. The post numbers change, but the link numbers stay the same.

I hadn't noticed that other problem until you mentioned it.
