We don't ask for much in exchange for your participation. If you're one of the up-and-coming authors, please follow these few rules.

• Update at least once a day. You can update more than once a day, however.
• Don't kill off other quest authors or otherwise abuse them for no reason without permission from the author in question. Comedy counts as a reason, but only if it's actually funny, and not just 'oh look I'm stabbing Trout in his buttock oh what a lark'.
• Give up control of the quest when it is your turn to do so.
• Always try to be going towards or selecting the next quest author who will gain control of the quest.

Other than that, you have complete control over the quest!

I have only completed one, which was a comedy one-shot parody of HatchQuest called HootchKwust!

I update at least once daily, but occasionally miss days due to my busy schedule. I live in Seattle.

Since many people seem to be uncertain of meeting the update speed requirements, and certainly not because I am a lazy bastard, the required update speed has been changed to at least once every 48 hours!

I wasn't having much fun, and in all honestly I'm kind of really tired of making joke quests-- I want to do something with more substance.

But if trout (or octary?) doesn't do something soon I might try to continue the sorta kinda story arc I had going

I directly asked to be told when the update was intended to be made and a general idea because I was not sure what to do and I was told by Trout and Idiom that I would be talked to when it was time to go again, so I am mildly annoyed that it just started up anyway???

Trout and Idiom have taken way too long, so talk to me sometime I guess to figure out exactly what's going to happen... or opt out and I'll go to RML. Either way is fine with me at this point, so long as I don't take the blame for other peoples' failings.

i'm still here, is it mandatory that it has to be at my part of the quest in order to update? I don't have any issues for updating parts that i'm not involved in just to keep the quest going.

I am also prepared to commandeer it if you decide it to be so.

Why don't all the (potential and current) authors get a channel to plan things out? An IRC channel, or Skype, or some combination of things.

Yeah I have been waiting to do a couple of updates for months, and there was an opening and I had an idea and now it doesn't look like it is going to work. I want to participate some but people only seem to communicate with me to tell me they had been waiting for me despite requesting direct assistance from the main people running it. I don't particularly know what to do besides wait for another opportunity.
