I tried to run a quest like six months ago called Future Club but I gave up on it pretty quick. The art was all pixely. Here's some unused/unfinished sprites.

He's all colored now. I'm probably gonna do a lot more of these. I have five characters all planned out and will probably make more.

I'm kinda torn on whether I should run more quests with a quick artstyle like that or if I should keep updating Hammer Imp. I feel like more people participated in Lonely Ranch because I could update quickly, with multiple updates per session.

I don't know, it looks like you're getting a decent amount of suggestions from Hammer Imp. Unless you mean they come in slow or whatever.

But I guess I would say, depending on how much you want to actually finish Hammer Imp, you could stop at anytime, it'll just end up in the Graveyard. Personally I would prefer if you gave it some type of ending first. Like it doesn't have to have multiple threads and an epic ending, but something that would at least conclude the thread and the story to some extent, before you go for faster updating quests.

Unless you meant work on 2 quests at the same time, but I'm assuming no since Hammer Imp didn't update for a while while you did the other quest. But if you meant 2 at once with Hammer Imp, I guess if you feel like you can pull it off, then that would be fine.

Well I was more thinking the Hammer Imp updates would slow way down while I worked on something else. But at that point it's like, hardly a guarantee it'll ever get done.

But you're right. The little gremlin deserves an archived thread. Thanks

Hey wait a minute, thats us! You should totally post that in the disc thread, that's awesome!

As for the questions you posted like 20 years ago about what kinda art to use, should you finish hammer imp, does anyone remember lonely ranch, etc etc, I really love Hammer Imp and am always excited when it updates, but also you're the author! You gotta like doin this stuff too! So make sure you're askin yourself how you feel about it all, not just us. I personally loved the lonely ranch art, and would love to see more quests done in that two color, silhouette-esque like lonely ranch and the pic linked to in here. I was actually surprised that it was the quicker artstyle, but I'm guessing the animation in most of hammer imp's updates take a l o t of work. The mix of 3d item/gif things you had in lonely ranch were really cool though, I hadn't seen somthing like that in a quest before. I love your portrayal of our characters though, that Maru is bad-fuckin-ass. Luv it

Thanks Santova. Hammer Imp has unfortunately become a real slog to update and I can't exactly articulate why. Might need to do another intermission quest like Lonely Ranch. Also, more Pdn[T]tO character sketches are probably incoming.

Threw this together real quick. Buildings are surprisingly difficult with this style. Was going to try a few more creative angles but that'll have to wait. Thoughts??

Thanks Jiggy!

I've been making art for my next quest and excited about how it's turning out! The speckles won't be in the final images, they're a result of the software settings I'm using.

Yes and no. Once the assets are done, I can quickly throw them together however I want.

Especially with a short quest in a limited setting. Ideally I won't do any modeling at all while the quest is running.

Unless you mean the actual rendering process. It doesn't take too long with the settings I'm using.

This may be a weird place to ask this question, but is Pom from that last panel of hammer imp based on a Valenzuela poodle moth? It seems to be a moth of some kind, but those fellows are my current favorite among the fuzzy fellows

Close! Pom is based on the bombyx mori, a most fluffy of moths.

I need to go back an finish hammer imp.

I just checked in on it last night, and it's still up so it's not too late. If you're not feelin it though don't push yourself- running a quest should be a fun hobby, not an obligation

I particularly like your angel wheel, and I'm curious if those goat fellows have any significance hidden in their poses?

A handsome, beautiful boy. Truly the heart and levity of our rather wild campaign. I wonder whatever happened to the caps sword? That could be worth good money.

Might be some sort of somatic spell component, hehe

You get eel kisses!

Trying to keep up with this inktober thing. Probably will do more Pdn[T]tO characters (though I know I've promised this in the past)

It's probably out seeing the world, wandering from place to place on those legs it grew.
