Yep, pretty dead.

We were dungeon diving, in case you're curious. Me, Miss Fesser the cleric, and that's Aerick down there, may his soul rest in peace. The one who brought the roof down on us was the trap monkey, Ice-Flower. I don't know much about her.

Right here is the hallway leading out of Usinah Cemetery, the expedition's goal. Pretty standard affair, all in all. Ancient burial ground with its ancient spirit cage and its ancient guardians, and sweet, timeless treasure.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the loot is still on Aerick. Want me to dig it out?

>Dig it out.
I spend some time rock turning, careful not to collapse the rest of the tunnel in the process. Sorry, Aedrick, but you won't be needing any of this anymore.

On the warrior I find his crushed armor, his sword, and his backpack. The backpack, soiled by a few broken potion bottles, contains some clothes, rations, two fiction book, a regular traveling kit and the treasure. The sword is magical, but heavy.

>Resurrection
>What kind of magic do you do?
I'm an elementalist by speciality. Water, wind, heart. The works. I don't know any other wizards, let alone necromancers.

>Are any of your companions still alive?
Well, not Aedrick. I'd suspect Ice-Flower in pulling a fast one over us, being a thief and all, but the loot is right here alone with me on this side of the debris.

>Is there anything hostile nearby?
We were the only ones here, and the spirit cage is now in shambles, so...

Speaking of which, this tunnel was the only way out, as far as I know. Back there is the cemetery. Any ideas?

>Did they give you any names or addresses to give their share of the loot to?
Only their names.

>heart?
The secret fifth element in the sacred elemental pentacircle, allowing you, in theory, access to virtually any astral plane. In practice, I can purify some water.

>secret exit that can only be found from the inside.
That's what I'm hoping for!

I place everything in the backpack and proceed forth. Or backth. Whichever.

>What's a spirit cage?
The thing on the left there was a spirit cage. It was a really well preserved Finter design. Their sole function is to cage spirits to a certain radius. Spirits hate it when you mess with their former bodies, so it only makes sense to put one in your graveyard. Shame we had to smash it up.

Here's the place how we left it, just a few minutes ago. We searched pretty thoroughly, but these places rarely have only one exit. Where do I begin?

>Is that door looking thing in front of you not a door?
It was a door. I made it no longer a door. It leads into the mausoleum, where we got most of our treasure. If there's an exit there, it's behind more than a simple hidden door.

>We go outside
I can't go outside! Therein lies the pickle!

>Tombstones
>Earth magic
I search around the whole perimeter. The walls are indeed very solid underground-cave walls. While I'm able to summon a hefty amount of any element and manipulate that perfectly, already existing material is much tougher to work with. I can dislodge about this much from the wall in one go. Let's call digging our way out plan B.

>Throw some dust into the air, use wind to create a vacuum or slight overpressure and see where the air is going to/from?
That's pretty clever. I didn't go to wizard school for nothing after all, it seems.

I pick and throw some of the cavern's sand to the air. After some fine manipulate and plenty of trial and error I confirm the ceiling is indeed hollow! I suppose those roots dangling there should've given me enough clue.

Put the loot and stuff to the side where they are safe, maybe strap some of Aericks broken armor on one arm as a makeshift shield against falling stones. Then start exploiting those cracks made by the roots. See if you can make a hole.

Rock doesn't float and the other side is rather far away. Platform takes two elements to manipulate and advances in a pace that is slower than walking.
While I'll never run out juice, so to speak, I would eventually get tired from mystically flailing my arms around. To summarize, magic's effectiveness on a situation boils down to the amount of hand-waving I have to make.
