War: one way or another, it always has to end.

Since the dawn of critter-kind, when the killing powers of rock and bone were first discovered, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.

In the year 2077, after millenia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of the critters could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of fire.

But it was not, as some had believed, the end of the world. Instead, the apocalypse was simply the prologue to another chapter of critter history--hopefully, one of peace. Critters had succeeded in destroying the world, because war: one way or another, it always has to end.

In the early days, thousands were spared the the horrors of the holocaust by taking refuge in enormous underground shelters, known as vaults. Who knows what lies outside to greet those who foolishly choose to emerge? On that fateful day, when fire rained from the sky, the steel doors of the vaults slid closed... never to reopen.. It is in one of these vaults that two friends were born. It is in that vault that they vowed that they would not die underground.

In the vaults, no one ever enters, and no one ever leaves.

Until now.

RITCHIE: Harlin? What do you see?

HARLIN: It's beautiful... It's just like I always dreamed it would be.

RITCHIE: Really? Let me see!

Ugh.... I spelled Richie's name wrong several times in that post, but Uplifted doesn't want to go back and change it now. So... I guess I'll just correct it here. There's no "T."

What do we have in terms of supplies and inventory? What kinds of skillsets and training do these critters have?
>>
No. 509835 ID: 9ddf68

well just because things look pretty doesn't mean it's safe, I say scout the area for somewhere to set up fort and see what supplies are in the area as well, meet back here in... 3 hours and everyone can tell/share what they have seen/found then decide where to call home for now. If you see any wildlife or even other people out here DON'T APPROACH THEM, we don't know who or what is and isn't dangerous out here and would rather go with the 'better safe then sorry' motto here all thing considered. so split into 6 groups of 2 or 4 groups of 3 (whatever you think would be better) and lets get things started.

okay uh... what's adult age at? if normal then that is a lot of kids.
in which case the cottontails hold down the fort and watch the kids while the hoppers and hopscotchs explore, and buddy system!

No. 509849 ID: 9ddf68

ok so this hill looks safe enough for now, so I say have the kids stay here and have the 2 elderly watching them as both Hopscotch go in group 1 to try and find more food, water, anything else that could be useful, and a more secure location to set up a home base at and have the Hopper duo do the same but somewhere else. Again AVOID other people and animals as we don't know what is and isn't safe yet, just find supplies and some shelter for now and we can worry about the rest later. meet back her before sun down and we can plan what to do next.

HARLIN: Why don't you and Lauren stay with the kids, Winston? Heidi and I will go... that way, and Richie, you and Sandy go the other way.

BELL: Stay with the kids? But Dad, why can't we go with you? There's a whole new world to explore out here! Please, Dad?

Bell's Persuasion check failed!

HARLIN: I'm sorry, Bell, but you can't come with us. Besides, you need to stay here with your little brothers and sister! They look up to you.

BELL: ...Alright, Dad.

WINSTON: Now, wait just a minute, here, Harlin! Are you suggesting that Lauren and I aren't capable of a little scouting?

LAUREN: Winston....

WINSTON: Lauren, you know how these young folks are! If you let them think you're weak, they think they can just walk all over you! Well, I'm not weak! I could take you in a fight any day, Harlin!

Winston's Intimidation check failed!

HARLIN: I'm not suggesting that you're weak, Winston. It's just that Heidi, Richie, Sandy, and I are younger. We can see better, for one thing. You can't deny that, Winston.

LAUREN: Look, I'll be more than happy to watch the children. I certainly don't need Winston's help!

WINSTON: Lauren...

LAUREN: It's nothing, really! Besides, Bell, Skip, and Isabella will be able to help me with the little ones. Right, children?

ISABELLA: Of course, Mrs. Cottontail!

SKIP: We'd be happy to help.

BELL: ....Sure.

LAUREN: Then it's settled. We'll take care of the tots, and Winston will go with you.

Lauren's Persuasion check succeeded!

HARLIN: You're right, Lauren. Winston, you wanna come with us?

WINSTON: Now you're talking!

ISABELLA: Mom? Dad?

SANDY: Yes, Dear?

ISABELLA: It's just... Would you keep an eye out for Susie Silk? Sammy said she's still out here. It's been two weeks. I hope she's okay.

BELL: Come on, Isabella! Susie's got more camping gear than the rest of us put together! You know she can handle herself out here!

ISABELLA: She's not an adult, Bell. She's just a kid, like us. I'm worried about her, and so's her family.

BELL: You worry too much!

SKIP: Bell, Isabella's right!

HEIDI: No fighting, you two!

LAUREN: Listen to your mother, children.

SKIP: Yes, Mrs. Cottontail.

BELL: Sorry, Mom.

LAUREN: But, please...

HEIDI: Yes, Lauren?

LAUREN: You will keep an eye out for Aaron and his family, too?

HARLIN: Of course we will, Lauren. They're part of the reason we're out here!

LAUREN: I can't believe it's been over two years since my son and his wife took the kids out of the vault...

WINSTON: They're fine, Dear. I'm sure Aaron's taking good care of them. We raised that boy right!

LAUREN: Of course. But it must be lonely. And I miss Gromwell and Willow so much...

RICHIE: Don't worry, Lauren! We'll find them!

LAUREN: Thank you! Thank you all!

Objective added: Find Susie Silk!

Objective added: Find the Cottontail family!

With that, the two parties left the children with Lauren Cottontail, and set off on their separate adventures.

Before long, Richie and Sandy came across an apple tree.

SANDY: Look, Richie! Fresh apples! They're so much more colorful than the ones that grew in the vault! Just think of the pies I could bake...

RICHIE: Don't worry, Sandy. Some day, when we start building the new town, I'm sure you'll be able to bake pies again.

SANDY: I hope you're right.

RICHIE: Now, don't you worry, Dear! I'll get those apples for you!

Richie's Reflexes, Strength, and Stamina check failed! Richie could not climb the tree.

RICHIE: I'm sorry, Sandy. It's no good.

SANDY: I want those apples, Richie.

RICHIE: Sandy? No, don't! You'll hurt yourself!

SANDY: We're on an adventure, right? Maybe... Maybe it's time I tried something new for once!

Sandy's Reflexes, Strength, and Stamina check succeeded! Sandy obtained 5 apples!

SANDY: I... I did it!

RICHIE: Wow, Sandy! I didn't know you could do that!

SANDY: Neither did I!

Sandy's Reflexes, Strength, Stamina, and Confidence increased by 3!

RICHIE: Did I ever tell you you're sexy when you're brave?

SANDY: Oh, stop it, you! Let's get back to camp with these apples!

Meanwhile, Harlin, Heidi, and Winston were walking in the opposite direction, when suddenly, they came upon a river.

HEIDI: Harlin, look!

HARLIN: Well, hey! It's a river! We could make a nice camp here. Fresh drinking water, somewhere to bathe!

WINSTON: Clean, flowing water.... I never thought I'd live to see the day...

HARLIN: Aww, Winston, are you crying?

WINSTON: No, I am not! My glasses are just a little foggy...

HEIDI: We should get back to the children, and tell them what we found!

And so, the two search parties returned to their families, apples in hand and the promise of clean water very near. The entire party moved to the river, and set up camp for the night.

END OF DAY 1.

i know thisis like a dream come true for you all but you must rember one very important thing about nature.
it is trying to kill you. constantly.

trust NOTHING, always, ALWAYS assume new food is toxic until tested.
cut a small slice of a single appel and eat it, if you dont get sick /die after about eight hours id say its safe to eat.

find somewere safe to defend and make sure to hide it well and memorized its location.

While we are on that subject, watch out for bandits.
you probably wont have much of a problem from them if they exist, as the world seems to have plenty of fresh food/water for the taking, so any bandit clans will be more intrested in robbing you for your stuff then killing you for food, but it pays to be cautious.

have on person eat one of the apples to see if they are alright, if nothing happens then we know the apples are fine. As for the water, just because it looks clean doesn't mean it is, find some way to boil the water before you use it for anything so you will kill off any germs and such that could make you sick.

After a peaceful night in the woods, the party awoke, well-rested and ready to greet a new day.

HARLIN: So... Anyone feel up to making an axe?

Bell’s Initiative check succeeded!

BELL: Dad, I brought an axe.

HARLIN: What?

HEIDI: Where did you get an axe, young lady?

BELL: Hatchet, Mom. Standard camping gear. You think I would have left home without it?

HARLIN: That’s my girl! Now, we need to boil some of this river water for drinking.

Bell used her hatchet to gather some branches and her lighter to light them, creating a decent fire. Using a small cookpot that Heidi brought with her, the party managed to boil a useable amount of water.

The party ate breakfast.

The party consumed 11 food units. (Each food unit represents one meal.)

Current food units remaining: 24.

Hopper’s Memory check succeeded!

HOPPER: Mommy... Is the pretty animal lady real?

HEIDI: What pretty animal lady, sweety?

HOPPER: I saw her in a dream. She was pretty.

RICHIE: What did she look like, Hopper?

HOPPER: Lots of pretty colors. Four legs like a doggy.

Richie’s Memory check succeeded!

RICHIE: This is gonna sound crazy, guys... But I think I had the same dream.

Harlin’s Memory check succeded!

Lauren’s Memory check succeeded!

HARLIN: No way! What did she say in yours?

LAUREN: I remember something about... about the Guardians...

BELL: What are the Guardians?

WINSTON: An old story, from a long time ago.

ISABELLA: I’d like to hear the story!

SKIP: Me too!

LAUREN: Well, the story went that, a long time ago, before the war, before critters ever even came to Sylvania, there were seven guardians that watched over the land. One for the forest, one for the grasslands, one for the jungle, one for the mountains, one for the beach, one for the desert, and one for the volcano. In time, critters settled the land, and it became the land of Sylvania, and eventually the most glorious city in the world. But when that happened, the Guardians went away, and were never seen again. I can’t believe that I remembered all that! I haven’t heard that story in ages!

Lauren’s Memory increased by 3!

BELL: What were the Guardians like, Mrs. Cottontail?

LAUREN: Let’s see....

Lauren’s Memory check succeeded!

LAUREN: They were powerful creatures, and beautiful. They were good, and they served the Lady of the Land.

BELL: Who’s that?

LAUREN: No one really knows.

Winston’s Memory check succeeded!

WINSTON: That dream, though.... Do you think that could be the Lady of the Land?

RICHIE: You’re saying... you think the old stories are actually true?

WINSTON: I don’t know! But... I remember she said something about giving her blessing to your little project, boys. The town. Something about... living in harmony with this land. Where... where Sylvania failed.

HARLIN: Where Sylvania failed? But wasn’t Sylvania the greatest city that ever was?

RICHIE: That’s what I remember.

Sandy’s Memory check failed!

Sandy’s Resource Management check succeeded!

SANDY: This is all very well and good... And fascinating. But we really should start planning what we’re going to do for the day. We need to find more supplies, and maybe scout further and wider than yesterday.

BELL: Can I go this time? I’ve been dying for some adventure since you said we were leaving the vault!

SANDY: That’s up to your parents, Bell. But I do think we’d do better with more scouting teams.
>>
No. 511276 ID: 9ddf68

eh, you can probably bring the kids, just make sure they will listen to the adults since we still aren't very sure what is and isn't safe. Besides we should try and find more supplies as we really only have 2 days worth of food and with some extra eyes we might be able to find more and with some extra backs we could carry more as well. But at the first sign of trouble have the kids be ready to run back to the came, or if the camp wouldn't be possible keep an eye out for hiding spots along the way so they could hide in them until the danger has passed. just make sure to check out this hiding places first to make sure it isn't the home of something nasty.

HARLIN: ...Alright. The children can come. But someone has to stay behind with the babies.

Sandy's Initiative check succeeded!

SANDY: I'll do it. Besides, I have to feed Katie soon, anyway.

HARLIN: Good idea. We'll split into four teams of two. Children with parents, and the Cottontails together.

BELL: Can I go with you, Dad?

HARLIN: Skip, will you go with your mother?

SKIP: Sure will, Dad!

SANDY: We'll be waiting for you! Come home safely!

And so, the teams split up. Lauren and Winston headed south along the river.

WINSTON: I don't even know what we're supposed to be looking for!

LAUREN: Anything useful, Dear.

WINSTON: Well, it all just looks like useless trees! Trees with no fruit or anything!

LAUREN: I know...

Winston’s Confidence decreased by 3!

Lauren’s Confidence decreased by 3!

Finding nothing interesting, the two rabbits headed back to camp, discouraged. Meanwhile, Skip and Heidi headed west, in the direction of the vault.

SKIP: I'm bored, Mom.

HEIDI: I know, Skip. I don't see anything here, either.

SKIP: Do you think Dad and Bell found anything?

HEIDI: Who knows?

Similarly discouraged, they also headed back to the camp. Bell and Harlin, meanwhile, headed northeast, following the curve of the river.

Harlin's Sight check succeeded!

HARLIN: Bell! Do you see that?

BELL: Whoa... what is it?

HARLIN: It looks like a den of some sort.

Bell's Curiosity check succeeded!

HARLIN: Come back here, young lady! There could be something dangerous in there!

BELL: Don't worry, Dad!

She cautiously approached the den, unafraid of what could be lurking inside...

Suddenly, a pretty red fox crawled lazily out of the den, stretched, and wandered off into the forest.

BELL: Dad! It's a fox! It's so beautiful!

HARLIN: You're lucky! He could have been hungry.

BELL: Dad, foxes don't eat critters.

HARLIN: Well... There's a first time for everything! And it could have been a wolf or something!

BELL: Wolves don't live in dens, Dad.

HARLIN: Look, let's just head back to camp, alright? I wonder if anyone else found anything interesting.

And so, excited by the events of the scouting mission, Bell and her father headed back to the camp. Meanwhile, Richie and Isabella were exploring to the North, when they came across something very interesting.

ISABELLA: Is that a building?

RICHIE: Looks like it. Sign says "Win-surance."

ISABELLA: Wait, this was an insurance company?

RICHIE: I guess so.

ISABELLA: Huh. There's a big hole in the wall.

RICHIE: Yeah...

ISABELLA: I wonder what it's like inside.

Isabella's Curiosity check succeeded!

Isabella's Independence check failed!

ISABELLA: Dad? Can we go take a look, please?

Richie's Curiosity check succeeded!

RICHIE: What's the harm? Besides, maybe we'll find something useful!

They crept softly to the hole, and Isabella stepped inside.

ISABELLA: Dad, you have to see this!

RICHIE: This must have been the lobby. Jeez, look at it now. Bushes everywhere! Hmm... I wonder where those stairs go?

Isabella's Herblore check succeeded!

ISABELLA: Dad, those aren't just any bushes! Those are thunderberry bushes!

RICHIE: Thunderberry? What the heck is a thunderberry?

ISABELLA: I read about it at school, Dad! You can mash them up, and the juice heals wounds. The school nurse uses them, sometimes, when someone hurts themselves.

RICHIE: That's amazing, Isabella!

Isabella's Confidence increased by 3!

ISABELLA: Thanks, Dad.

RICHIE: Now, let's gather some of them, and be on our...

ISABELLA: Dad? What's wrong?

RICHIE: Be very quiet. Don't move.

ISABELLA: Dad?

RICHIE: Raccoon. Snarling.

ISABELLA: Dad!?

RICHIE: Shh...

ISABELLA: What do we do?

RICHIE: Hold on... I'll think of something...
>>

it's been eating the berries. back away slowly. it could be growling at you to back away from it's food. if so then sufficient distance will calm it down. do NOT turn around. showing your back is the worst thing to do.

back away slowly and DO NOT make any eye contact with the thing, we can make a mental checkpoint here and come back to it later when we are better equipped or have something to defend yourselves with., you don't really need the berries now and the only reason you would need them for the foreseeable future would be because you pissed off the raccoon and it attacked you.
