Today is a big, yet dreaded day!

My name is Ket'al, and I am to go into the Drylands to find food and wood for my people.

I have a backpack, filled with things that my chief has given to me, and a spear made entirely of metal. It is heavy.

There are many dangerous creatures in the Drylands. I should be prepared.

what things ? do you have a rope?

Going all alone? More people could carry more food and wood and would be safer.

Also what are you?

What did your chief give you? Do you possess any skills that will be useful during your journey?

Do you have water?
Bring a blanket

If the land is indeed dry, make sure to carry plenty of water on you, and IN you. Rope is an adventurer's best friend, and you should ALWAYS keep your towe- ah, blanket handy.

Also, some way to start a fire. Deserts can get pretty cold at night.

And if you can secure a buddy then you should be prepared for all sorts of things. A buddy, and a good sharp knife.

What are you? You seem to have a lot of eyes.

>What did your chief give you?
Ket'al has lots of things in his backpack.

There is some rope, not very useful in Drylands. A small knife, food and water, bandages, some sort of blanket, and some gems.

>Make a party
Ket'al is supposed to go alone, because two dying is worse than one. We need people here.
Also, Ket'al is a man, he does not need two people.

>What are you?
Ket'al is a Skar.

Skar are a strong people, evolved from a past race in the Drylands. We are now in the Great Winter, in caves so we may stay warm and develop. It is hard.

Ket'al should keep moving.

Ket'al sees more drylands, and trees and bushes.

Ket'al also sees a ruined church of some kind.

Where should Ket'al go?
>>
No. 510418 ID: d6ef5d

What kind of food are we expected to gather? Is this a hunting or gathering mission?

How much food and/or food are we supposed to carry back? You have a limited capacity to haul stuff across the waste alone, and your bag is already stocked.

The bushes don't seem a good source of food, or wood. Unless they're actually tubers or something.

The church might have people or animals living in it, or be made of wood you can salvage. Worst case, it could function as shelter.

there were tree in the distance correct? but unless you have an axe and are incredibly strong that wont help much.

>Forward is the only direction

Unless Ket'al is suddenly confronted by a creature of the Drylands.

This is a Shalim, it likes to leap on things like Ket'al and melt them. It also has many eyes, two are real, the rest are fake.

Ket'al should probably do something about this creature trying to eat him.

No. 510442 ID: dc4a44

Stab all the eyes. all of them.
all of them.

Its two real eyes are probably the ones that are brighter\glowing.

>Stab all of the eyes
Ket'al is not a savage, and does not have the luck to.

>Stab Brighter eyes
Ket'al thinks this is a good idea, he will try.

>Can it be used as food?
Ket'al has better things to think about, like not being food!

The beast leaps for me, but I am faster than it.
>>
No. 510590 ID: d6ef5d

If it leapt at you, you could have used its momentum against it- getting it to impale itself on the spear while you hold it at bay.
>>
No. 510602 ID: bf54a8

i think only the destruction of the real eyes can kill it. drop your bag to move faster if you think it will help. and get stabby. but always focus on dodging rather then attacking. only attack when you get a clear shot.

>It's a horse Jim.
Ket'al is not a fool, the shadow will collapse if he stands in it's way.

The lumbering beast is slow, and as it attempts to turn, I make a lunge and stab into it's eye. Strange blood spills and gushes from the socket, and it roars an unholy sound.

I can make a second lunge, but it would be risky.

>Press On + Dodge
The creature floods out in a last attempt to catch Ket'al in it's terrible body, but he is too smart.

I stab the creature in it's remaining eye and kill it.

The creature begins to hiss and fade into the air, shadows leaving into the sky.

Ket'al is a warrior, and he will continue his quest.

Now with it dead, the church is clear ahead of Ket'al.

Though it looks crumbled and strange, the church's strange religion is well taken care of. Something is keeping it intact.

Ket'al thinks we should investigate, but how will he enter?

"Hello? Hello. This is Ket'al."

"MAHAHAHAAAHAA. WELCOME TO MY LAIR."

Ket'al does not think knocking was a good idea.
