Alright, mom, ever heard of a thing called 'nicotine addiction'? Also, cut me some slack, yeah? A man like me in this kind of city needs somethin' to help him relax.

The client isn't anybody out of the ordinary. They're just someone either too poor or too cheap to pick someone that isn't human to get the job done. It's pretty awful, you know, being a human around here. But anyway, enough about Poor Old Howard. The client's come to me because they're askin' me to track down some stolen furniture. Nothing fancy.

So you're pretty much just they guy that finds little things that other deem to unimportant or to costly to go see someone else... while a bit boring at least you still have a steady flow of money coming your way.

How much longer until the guy shows, also what gender and what species is the client?

maybe have some stuff organized before they get here - lists of contacts, maybe some lists of pawn shops in the area since that should be one of the first places you check. impress the client with how prepared you are!

because both of the creators (artist & writer) are going through some Technical Difficulties in moving house & whatnot, the thread is gonna be re-posted within the next day or two. we'll still have all of your input from the previous posts, and an update, but please bear with us and hopefully don't lose your enthusiasm within the time frame!!

As you can see here, they go by different names, all ultra specific, but most people use the general term 'monster' and call it done. And if you mean to ask the number...let's just say there are two human clothing shops and one human supermarket. For me, they're all the way across town.

Our client's got no gender, it's in the species. They're a Medoid, though...ah, snake hair and all.

As I shuffle through my papers, there is a knock at the door, which must be the client. They're only a few minutes late, I notice as I look up at the clock.

I cross the room, smoothing my hair and shirt, before opening the door.

"Ah, Misssster Howard, ssssorry I'm late! I hope I wassssn't keeping you waiting for long."

Tell her there was no problem. Then invite her, get her sat down, and stoically listen to what she can tell you about her case.

"Time is money, and you just wasted your time. It's no trouble, as long as you're paying for it you can have as much as you like.
"Here's a list of questions to answer, the ones I can't get an accurate answer for make it harder for me to do my job, which would take more time. So there's no particular pressure on answering them, but your money will go farther and I'll be more likely to succeed at retrieval if I have good answers to them early.
"In no particular order: What am I chasing, when was it last where it belonged, do you have paperwork to show that it's yours and can I see it, where would I get images and specifications, how objectively valuable is it, is there any particular emotional or fame value attached, is there any special ownership or use instructions or restrictions, how breakable is it, what can you tell me about the second-hand market for it and things like it, and is there anybody else you would know about that would have a particular interest in it for whatever reason?"

shrug and say it wasn't that big of deal, I mean it was only a few minutes. As for what to ask, Might as well ask for what she wants you to do, what she can tell us about whatever it is she want's you to do, and other questions will pop up once we get a better idea on what you're being hired for.

reassure them that you haven't been waiting long and offer them a seat, maybe a glass of water.
you have the case file, but it's always good to hear the details as the client tells them - ask for a breakdown of the case!
