>A miserable pile of lies

Sometimes you think that.

Your name is Connor. You are a freshmen attending CCAD, the Columbus College of Art and Design.

You live off of late nights online and the emotional support of others. You also like anime.

What will you do?
>>
No. 701465 ID: 5ad4a7

The simplest definition is: Expression of an idea that provokes a desired reaction.

This, of course, makes violence the only universal art.

I would strike the "desired" actually. Don't limit art to only that which the artist intends to present- the reader / viewer / audience is a participant in the process.

Well if you don't have a desired reaction, then it's art without motivation, which is... nothing. Even "any reaction" is a desired reaction. I would say the best art reliably produces a certain type or intensity of response.

Yeah, you tend to do that on a regular basis anyways.

You sit down on your mattress and open your laptop, absently typing on the keys.

You already did that this morning.

Data Crossover is a hard rule of the world. To make a long story short, any PCs of this world cannot see one anothers eyes. Our eyes are where the core data is stored, and if we crossed that data over, there'd be a fatal error.

Nah, Shades are just a fashion item. The worlds code was made so that all PCs eyes are censored. NPCs don't hold that code, so they're fine.

Nah, drawings are just image files.

What does being a PC mean beyond having voices in your hand and not being able to see other PCs' eyes? Do you have any special Player Character abilities like gaining skills at an unusually fast rate, storing an arbitrarily large number of objects in an 'inventory', eating and metabolizing food instantaneously, or rewinding time through sheer Determination?

>What does being a PC mean beyond having voices in your hand and not being able to see other PCs' eyes? Do you have any special Player Character abilities like gaining skills at an unusually fast rate, storing an arbitrarily large number of objects in an 'inventory', eating and metabolizing food instantaneously, or rewinding time through sheer Determination?

Well, the general difference betwen PCs and NPCs is that a PC has both an Inventory, where they are able to keep a multitude of objects that tend to be both important to quests, and larger than the average person could casually carry, and a Stat Screen.

That Stat Screen covers a few topics. We have Levels, which tends to mean how physically skilled a PC is at some hidden stats, that you may or may not be able to unlock eventually. We also have Type, which generally means a persons age. YA stands for Young Adult.

There's abilities, which are specific latent abilities unique to each PC that can give them certain boosts depending on the situation, think pokemon.

Finally, there's Aura. Aura is the general mood that a PC will give off in the environment.

Also, nice reference.

>Grind for levels.

Grinding isn't really a thing in this world. You level up by finishing tasks, and different tasks level up not only your general level, but some specific hidden stats that were talked about earlier.

Do you wish to go do some tasks?

While Kenzie looks at you for awhile awkwardly, you reflect on something about Kenzie.

You know that she runs an online webcomic.

"Uh Connor...you alright?"

You have gained the new option INTERESTS.

>"Not much, just making sure I don't go crazy alone in my room."

Kenzie smiles warmly at the comment. "Oh yeah, same here dude. Good thing I have this job or I'd just be watching Steven Universe all day."

Congratulations! You've gotten one social connection! Get four more social connections and you'll have won the social interaction!

You've learned something about Kenzie! You've stored it in your Reflection tab. These facts are free for you to use immediately when used in the same conversation that you've learned them, but will need to be reflected on in future interactions.

HOW do you ask about it though? In a Social Interaction, you're the voice. You have total control over what you say, and it's important that you think about how to phrase things!

>Reflect on what you know about the webcomic (aside from the fact that it exists).

You choose to reflect on the comic, and remember that it deals with Kenzie and the ghost of a mummy exploring a world after the universe shatters.

Kenzie is getting a bit confused over the silence. If you don't talk soon, you may loose your Social Connection.

"It does, but I love doing it. I can still hunker down in my room and do it though, Haha!"

Kenzie smiles happily.

You stroll into the kitchen to both grab the garbage bag, which you do immediately, and check what you have to eat.
