So what, you're a sleeper agent? Cool.

Except now, you're stranded on a hostile planet while your only homing beacon is attuned to Krell ships, and the Dominion won't like how you exultantly fled your ship seconds before it malfunctioned and exploded. The good news is, this isn't a Krell-friendly environment.

Can you re-attune the beacon to Azzaka frequencies? If not, can you prepare an assault on the next Krell rescue ship that comes by?
>>
No. 744728 ID: b85ea2
File 147231421227.png - (150.17KB , 640x480 , COMMUNICAT.png )
744728

You asked me,
>>Can you re-attune the beacon to Azzaka frequencies? If not, can you prepare an assault on the next Krell rescue ship that comes by?

No, I can't re-attune the beacon to safe frequencies. The escape pod doesn't have enough hi-tech parts. I could try explore the planet to see if there is any existing infrastructure to take advantage of using my spy gear and diplomatic skills. Or I could call the next Krell rescue ship whenever that would occur. The Krell Dominion does not seem to value the life of the individual much.

The Krell Communication Method works at least so called two technological hierarchies below the steps Azzaka have taken to secure our transmissions.

Their aquatronic systems are waterproof, more like hydrophilic. If I open the system panel here, I risk losing valuable pure water that sustains the communication system. That is rule number one. Stay hydrated with this tech.

Although Krell seem to think they're safe from transmission hijack, we do it all the time in the Azzaka Navy. The principle is that their modulating signal is encrypted by an impulse modulation that is carried on a FTL signal. Think of just negating signal pulse somewhere and sending static pulses to cover the impulse. Really trivial actually. Of course they scatter the carrier signal to FTL wave frequencies, but all you need to do is read some science history and replicate that technology and apply some more recent decoding algorithms. Like... Wait, I'm not carrying a Krell spy mission. I need to save my ass.

Rule number two, do not broadcast anything even accidentally that resembles impulse techniques, because the Krell and who knows who else will be listening on those. With this tech, that is sort of insanely hard. So forget about rule number one.

Azzaka message signals are conveyed by infinite distance teleportation. The device taps into a dimensional state which is same in the target location, we know as much as it's required to tap into the same dimensional state or "blank point" to hijack the energy. Oh, there are several juicy advantages in our way of communicating. Even if you invent interdimensional transmission and manage to tap into the correct dimensional state that may disappear in microseconds after it has been used, that will almost certainly leave a trace not only indicating the transmission was fingered, but also will with our theoretical frame and devices reveal us where in the visible space and time this interception took place. So, we can "hack" back to that location and maybe send our "greetings" there. Since we are only able to teleport very tiny objects containing the information, but still we will be able to send a million pieces of them - some containing difficult viruses and all containing misinformation - it will be impossible to discern what happened during those microseconds of interception. That's our way, simply put.

So... rule number three, I need a portable teleporter to be safe. Normally I would lock into my personal space between Krell missions and construct one in secrecy in two weeks from deceptive hi-tech deliveries and then completely disassemble the device and disintegrate the parts. In here, it's pretty damn hard to get parts.

There, the device is ready to send signal carrying a false story of my escape. If this is assertive: "I am the only survivor of Destroyer Calibra that faced an Azzaka force in these coordinates: ####"

I am quite sure they will send a dozen destroyers or a couple of cruisers to chase down the Azzaka destroyer rather than pick me up with one shuttle. It's worth trying however.

Something like... seventeen thousand paces. It's Krell scription, explains that go this way, or... investigate in a way that you must pay attention to this... or just "authority". Again, this can be a bad advice from the Krell "tourist" program. Usually if you're not Krell you somehow end up in trouble following the instructions. But I'm interested why it's tracking radio signals from that direction.

It's a camouflaged camp or something. A simple holographic or physical field camo. Possibly a military encampment of some low tech race. Possibly just an ordinary interstellar tourist or traveller who wants to stay visually hidden from orbital spy probes or low tech aircraft.

I'm cool with whatever Choco, but I don't think this quest died from lack of interest. It's just... Your updates end abruptly and either leave us with little sense of direction or just that thought of "And then?"
It always feels like there's one frame missing and it's often hard to think of a meaningful action to suggest.

I would enjoy this or a continuation of the other two chapters but would just be pleased as punch if you could give us more context and/or more meaningful choices in your updates for whatever you do.
