Before you do anything, Remove it's guts. You can clean them in water later and then use them to tie a sharp rock to a stick.

if you decide to save the guts might as well eat part of the snout squirrel now and use the rest for bait, just in case you don't kill a medium animal on the first try. and you could keep the hide too but depending on just how small snout squirrels are you may not want to bother.

Skin it gut it cook it eat it.
