"Daniel, do not be sad."

I remember crying even harder after she said that to me, I think it was to spite her for what she was doing in that moment, which causes me to cringe in pain every time I do think of it, for I followed a downward spiral ever since. My truest friend was hugging me to try and comfort my sadness, but she was only making it worse, as every second that passed she was disappearing, out of her own accord, to go home and leave me here in my own home, alone. I slowly felt her touch become faint and her grip around me become lighter, and when I opened my eyes to look into her own for the last time, she was as faint as a wisp of smoke. Our final moment together was spent with me breathless and confused to why she was going. She whispered to me, whether it sounded so because she was actually whispering to me or from her connection slowly being severed, and in that last second she opened her mouth to say something to me which I never heard, as she was gone in the next instant, and I remember laying back on my bed, and there on that mattress I lost something very dear to me, which was noticed by all who knew me, and that was definitely any care to wake up any time I went to sleep afterwords.

Nobody knew of her, because I did not want anyone else to know of her, she was mine alone, and even then I was the only one who could directly experience her presence. Her voice, visual appearance, and touch was all as real as anyone's, but she did not exist on the physical plane that we do. She came to me in the form of a woman, made of a sort of blue fabric and wore white clothing which covered her whole, save for her clawed hands and feet, and her face which was that of a canine. She would wait for me every day I came home from school and I'd lay on my bed and we'd talk for hours until my parents came home, and then she'd stay with me, her arms folded around my neck, as I'd go about my socializing with my parents. She's ask me about everything and I'd tell her, and after my day was done I'd return to my room and we'd lay there again, talking, and we'd do that every day until the night she went home.

... You never banged her, did you.

The good news is, you now have a legion of new annoying friends talking directly into your skull. The reverberation you're hearing is the brain damage you'll get from doing everything we say.

... Screw this, I'm getting a pastry.

Perhaps we can help you find your way back to her. Tell us what you remember.

Yes, though she left, you all replaces her and I suppose I should be grateful as, I'm sure you all know, there was nobody else to talk to for a long time, other than those who I would consider my peers in school, but I never got anything from talking to any of them of course as they did not know me nor did they ever want to know me beyond seeing me from a distance, but that is all in the past and I do not wish to dwell on it, despite the past sometimes wanting me to.

It has been five years since I've been out of school, and nine years since I last seen her and all of you filled my head with your chatter, and we are currently mobile at 90 miles per hour on the highway entering Little Zeitz, which lays at the bottom of the foothills of the rocky mountains which, if following an old road out of Little Zeitz on the other end of town which I'll be entering, leads to the Gerstarl Estate, which is where we are heading. This is where I'll be living and working for the foresee-able future. You all convinced me to come here to leave behind my home, which now does nothing but serve as a reminder of who I was for the last nine years, which does not at all reflect on who I am now. I'm not going to recount any of those nine years as they were horrible, marked self-punishment for what I thought caused her to disappear and you all to replace her.

It is the second day of April, 2000. I have everything I need packed away in a backpack and a duffle bag in the back seat of this light green bubble on wheels.

OUR INVENTORY
Backpack: A small medkit with BANDAGES (20), and HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (10), and ANTIBIOTIC OINTMENT (10). There is also a small bag of BUDS (20), and a small glass PIPE which you bought from a 'friend' around the age of 17, and a LIGHTER (50). There is also a BOOK called 'Ethics, Demonstrated in Geometrical Order' by Baruch Spinoza, and this book was a gift to you from your grandfather. You like to read it before bed every once and a while.

Duffle Bag: There are two PAIRS OF CLOTHES, one of them you are wearing, the other is a pair of DRESS CLOTHING, which you will wear when you go in for your introduction to the proprietor of the estate, and a pair of SHOES which you are also wearing.

Me: Black long-sleeve shirt, and brown cargo shorts, with a WATCH on my left wrist, and a small dumb-phone in my right pocket. It can send texts and receive calls, that is it. There is also a small pocket knife in your left pocket.

((Sorry about the length of time between updates, going through some things in my personal life and re-thinking how I'm going to do these quests have prevented me from writing any further updates since!))

YOU are moving to the Gerstarl Estate to work as a 'property upkeep and sanitation engineer', in other words, you are working as a sort of grounds keeper.

---LITTLE ZEITZ---

YOU are in the town of Little Zeitz. YOU are on the main street which stretches all the way through town from one end to the other. On the other end of town, according to your phone's GPS, is a road which branches off into the foot hills of the Rocky Mountains, which is where the Gerstarl Estate is located. As you slowly drive through town you ponder whether or not you need anything from any of the stores here. In Little Zeitz, there is:

RESTAURANT - 'The Moody June'
RESTAURANT - 'Georgie's' (fast food)
HOTEL - 'Fredne Room and Board'
GAS STATION - 'Jute Gas'
STORE - 'Jute Gas'
STORE - 'The Little Grocer in Little Zeitz'

You feel like this'll be the only chance you have before heading up to the Gerstarl Estate until you get some time off.

Do you park and walk around, go to any one of the specific shops, or go straight to the Estate?

Will you live directly in the main house, or is there a groundskeeper's cottage or similar?

Is the grocer the type that also sells miscellaneous goods like a department store (for instance, clothes), or exclusively food? Because at some point you may want to have more than two outfits to your name, or you'll find yourself in an awkward spot when you need to do laundry...

Georgie's. Get yourself an egg breakfast. With hash. Lots and lots of hashes. Hashes make any size of breakfast feel like the same volume.

... lol cryptography.

You don't see many people walking around town, but it is quaint. Besides the small number of buildings there are various houses of differing colors and sizes, all with a very warm and welcoming look, and a lot of age to the material the houses are made from.

>>795981
The nearest town would be Huntington, only a 20 minute drive East, the direction I drove into town, but I have no reason to go there any time soon.

>>795980
I don't have a good answer for any of those questions! I haven't been to the property yet, nor have I been inside of this grocery store. Checking it out before I head to the Estate wouldn't be a bad idea, but I'm hungry right now so I'll grab something to eat instead.

>>795989
Eugh, no thank you. I've ate Georgie's for breakfast, lunch and dinner the last two days.

>>795983
It looks like a cottage with dark logs, stacked upon one another, poking out along the axis of the walls at all corners. It is small, and looks like it couldn't seat more than 20 people at a time. It has a brick chimney with smoke slowly rolling out of the top, and the smell of a barbecue comes from its direction. I'll stop here and eat.
