Well if you're wanting some authentic spooks atmosphere, Turn off ye modern electronic lights and use only candles.
Lots of the them.
Just tons of the things haphazardly arrayed across any flat surface that isn't the floor.
You want them off the floor because of the dry ice fog you'll have rolling around it.

Unless you feel like drawing a yard covered in more halloween decorations per square foot than the fire department allows then hell yeah we're spooky. Time to invite some skeletons over.

You are not getting into the spirit of things unless you paint your clothes with glowy stuff in the shapes of bones and run around chasing people while pretending to be a skeleton.

Failing that, hang up skeleton themed decorations. Also, turn the lights down, your house is bright pink and light is only making it less spooky.
