Well shit.

I didn't expect to win this fight, so I genuinely have no idea what I'm supposed to do. They were a legendary warrior, this was supposed to be like a last stand sorta thing. Why is my power so damn good?

STATS:
Vicky Esteline
ATK - 6
DEF - 2
AGL - 16
INT - 9
POW - Perfect Dodge: You may flawlessly evade up to 2 forms of harm. Each evasion takes 10 minutes to recharge, and all things that could cause you harm can be evaded. Ability has a range of 3 meters from the original source of harm.

Author's Note: This will probably not be an incredibly long quest, nor will i put an incredibly large amount of effort into it. It's just something to do while i work on the next AshQuest update, which is turning out more difficult than I anticipated.

I do the only thing I can in this situation and lie down as flat and silent as physically possible. Immediately after I do this, a masked Anthi soldier runs up.

"I hope I don't have to tell you what that means."

"will you quit being a shit? i know what the fuck a code B is. speaking of which what the fuck is this about? did they finally find that princess?"

"Doesn't matter. Follow protocol or I'll throw you off the edge. Or, do you need to be reminded of that too?"

"i swear to Sol, Beryl. if you want me to do my job, quit distracting me."

"You've been warned."

Keep calm. He didn't rat you out to his superior officer just now. That means he's not absolutely loyal to the chain of command. And if he wants to turn you in himself, he knows he will not succeed by force - you killed the town champion.

Ask him what he would like changed in his city. Then request he turn a blind eye while you escape.

Don't ask how much it will cost, just give him some gold at the end of negotiations.

"keep me from getting bored. and maybe buy me a drink."

"I cannot say I fully believe you."

"i mean, i'm not going to stay a guard forever. plus i need to get down there to get my essence holder back, thing was like 50 giln."

"What do you mean when you say you are not going to stay a guard forever?"

...you might as well? If he wanted to catch you, he would have said something when the other guard was here. Clearly he has some other game, and so long as that game is not something like "evil body-snatcher" or "murderer-rapist with a torture dungeon" or anything else worse than being killed immediately, you're better off.

In which RGB updates at midnight again

I attempt to give a 'thank you', but all I can manage is a muffled groan. After figuring out where my legs and arms are, I start to get up. Other than being dizzy and frazzled, I feel relatively fine.

"You must be a hit with the ladies."

"yep-"

"I was speaking to the ground, sorry. What did you say your name was again?"

"danny, though i also go by 'that one asshole' and 'who's dog is this?'"

"Pleased to meet you, Danny, I'm Vicky. I would assume we didn't meet by coincidence?"

"not exactly, but it was honestly dumb luck that you came running up the stairs like that. was expecting you to get arrested and then i'd have to do a whole jailbreaking thing, which while kickass would have been a total pain in the ass, so i'm glad that didn't happen."

"Of course. So, what is it that you wanted me for, if that's the case?"

"i am so. fucking bored. and i want something to do with myself that isn't partying or commiting crimes."

"So you're a criminal, then?"

"no, i'm a perfectly normal law abiding citizen no shit i'm a fucking criminal i literally spent like a week impersonating a soldier in a royal army."

"..."

"anyway you should probably get, like, all the way up because we still gotta walk for like six minutes to town."

Ugh.

"I'd prefer a loyalist to a criminal but the situation being what it is..."
You were going to have to walk there anyway, might as well follow. Ask about what he's done until now.
>>
No. 910604 ID: 977456

Inform him that you have had an insight into the future. That a time will come when you must be disciplined and efficient. A time when you must sacrifice justice and satisfaction for the sake of survival. Tell him that you must act now, so that, when the time comes, the scales of decency shall be balanced. Then kick him in the groin and march off to town. It'll definitely serve him right at some point in the future.

>i am so. fucking bored
Well, my life has been anything but boring lately, so I guess you picked a good trainwreck to hitch onto. Welcome aboard.

>i can shapeshift
How's that work? From "who's dog is this?" we can assume he's not limited to human birdman forms, but is there a size limit? A time limit? Other rules?

Well We just killed the most dangerous member of their military in what we assumed was a suicidal fight...We don't have much plan beyond find a way to not die and maybe get revenge, start a rebellion maybe?

"Well, at this point I've been branded a criminal as well so I honestly don't care.
A loyalist would have been nice, since I was planning on vengeance and probably dying in the attempt, but if you're bored and looking for something to do that's an option.
Or you could smash my cloaca until I forget who I am, either or."
