Psychic powers are more believable than something ignoring the square cube law.

So Pokemon...the newest installment from Japan is a crossover with Nobunaga's ambition

So conquering Feudal Japan with pokemon. What do you think?

Holy shit, all of my fuck yes. This is what people have been dreaming of for years (e.g. WWI as fought with Pokemon).

They've milked the "hurrr yer a cute trainer kid go get pokmens" concept for far too long, this is wonderful.

I think it's cool that they're sorta using the concept of medieval pokemon in warfare from the lucario movie and expanding the franchise beyond "TEN YEAR OLD BOY COLLECTS EIGHT BADGES!"

I demand party fights.

I remember playing some old game on ye olde GB for hours, no months, no... entire lifetimes. You went to another dimension (in search of your sister?) and then accidentally you are a mosnter trainer saving some kingdom in a huge fucking tree.

It was 3 monsters vs 3 monsters at max with horrendous menues and localisation. Holy shit, i played till my eyes bled. Was maybe the first RPG/JRPG experience of mine and i was so fucking addicted.

Never really warmed up to pokemon afterwards (still played red, yellow and then, ugh, crystal (or was it silver?). But i'm open for anything.

I was told they were like 18 or sonething. People I know who played it refered to the protagonists as significantly older. Not that the age of your faceless Everyman matters in a game about fighting magic animals.

Also, this has the potential to either kick ass or well... Not. I'm going to assume the pokemon elements will be mostly superficial. That and it'll never see the light of day in the west.

The girl is kinda a nobody. The men are all the most popular figures from the Sengoku era. At least in game terms.

Yes, the first one. The name had eluded me. Fond memories.
And it had a sequel? Dammit.

Now that's a change I did not anticipate.
Anybody else getting a nice Tactics Ogre vibe here?

Eh... Not sure if want.

So yeah, turns out its essentially Final Fantasy Tactics but with Pokemon and the end goal of taking over Japan. It has series roots 4X roots with one of your options being to go out into a field/cave/whatever to catch pokemon instead of recruiting soldiers. The world map consists of a map of Japan with, if I recall, 17 castles. Each turn the player can attack one castle and his foes can also attack one. The end goal of the game to hold all the castles at once. Also apparently it'll have full on online fights.
