Psychic powers are more believable than something ignoring the square cube law.

So we've started a new server. It's pretty barren right now, come help us put some stuff together!
To join, you will need to follow these steps:

-Get the curse minecraft client http://beta.cursevoice.com/games/minecraft

-Once installed, look for the Infected Cash {sic} modpack.

-Once that's installed, connect to mc.tgchan.org

-We have a city set up at x-2200 z-420, come there to get some starting equipment!

If you'd like to help out with a server project, I'm currently heading a project to recreate the city from SotW by Bromeliad.

Attached is a rough schematic of the first tower, which will house several crucial machines once completed.

The ending goal is to have an entire city of brutalist high-rises, the designs for which I will be compiling as each one is completed.

Due to the scale of these towers, I'll need a bit of help getting them constructed.

Again, the biggest base town right now is at x-2200 z-420, meet up there and we'll have you working in no time!

not very! When we were deciding on the new modpack, we specifically were looking for speed. This one seemed to fit the bill there best.

Also, for reference my in-game name is zer0percent.

Note: I'm super willing to offer minecraft skins in return for people helping on the project.

This shit's -huge-, at the rate we are going at now the final product won't even be half-ready until the end of the year.

Going to be posting a few skyscraper "modules", basically design-a-scraper ideas for easy building design.
Just plonk one on another, bang.

This one's a habitation block, an apartment complex.

As before, measurements are 1:1 scale pixel-to-block.

Goddammit, Riot, why the hell did you use HYPHENS in the city coordinates?! I walked all the way out to NEGATIVE 2200,420 'cause of that!

Note for everybody joining the MC server: The city coordinates are POSITIVE x:2200, z:420, not negative.

I'd really like to help, but unfortunately, the pack the server's running runs like shit for me. I'm not entirely sure why, other packs that, though they don't have as many mods, aren't designed to run as fast as possible run just fine, but this one's completely unplayable.

that may be recent fuckmachine additions, I'll talk to sev about it when i get home.

Is it a FPS issue before you even connect to the server, just after you connect and are at spawn, or when you get to the city base? 'Cause "fuckmachines" would only be an issue in the latter case, and then only the rendering of them since their tick calculations are handled by the server.

It's whenever I'm in-game, whether it's the server or single-player.

Alright, I've managed to fix it by moving the mods and configs in the pack from the Curse client's folders to a new instance in the normal vanilla launcher

Aw man, it's Curse that's causing the huge drag? Shit's practically adware. What folders do I have to move, and where is Curse's Minecraft install usually located? (win7)

After you start minecraft you can just kill curse from task manager.

I don't think it was Curse that was causing problems, other modpacks on it run fine. Either way, there's an option to just go to the folder where a profile's installed just by right clicking on it.

So there's been some ideas getting tossed around for putting together a mod pack that wouldn't have horrible server lag.

I guess the big question is what's some 'essential' mods and what's the server intended to be used for. Exploration? Building ridiculous structures? Server destroying automated- no, not that one.

Gravestones, to prevent item loss. Thaumcraft, because people love magic and there is a lot of research to be done in the mod. Mystcraft, because Myst is an awesome game and dimensions are cool too I guess. Gotta have a minimap; the one on the current server also has a world map, and both are helpful to navigation. Tinker's Construct has the oreberry bushes I find so useful, and at least one of the mods with expanded automation (RF contraptions) and an ore duster would be good to have. Riot's build also uses a decorative mod or two, would not remember which without getting back on the server. All in all, the number of 'essential' mods could probably be cut down to under 25 rather than the 179 Infected Cash loads. Sheesh.

Also, I invite anyone to check out the Gulliver Resizing and Littleblocks mods for 1.6.4. Build tiny houses, then live in them!
