So, I've been thinking about how the majority of /tg/ doesn't utilize tgchan / quest.lv here. Which is a shame, because alot of stuff that DOES relate to the board can be talked about and posted here, even if it breaks the 'worksafe' rules of standard /tg/. Also, various things could be done in a more organized and paced manner here, without the need for a bump every 4 hours.

So, fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls who haven't come this way til now, why not? Resident posters who have been here forever, anything you'd like to say to new folk coming in?

Where does everyone want to see things go for /tg/ and tgchan?

It's been crappy in /tg/ the last few week or so.

Legit threads being deleted, or shitbombed by mod wannabees for not being 40k enough.

There was a giant nationalism/patriotism shitfest which ended up in a circumcision troll thread. It lasted almost 2 days and was never deleted, while lots of other stuff was removed in minutes.

>So, fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls who haven't come this way til now, why not?

Well, although this is a very nice place, it's a bit quiet.

This site can get some extra posters from 4chan's /tg/ who get mad and decide to leave for good so the janitor is doing great for tgchan.

Today was business as usual for the janitor. He deleted sfw lamia writefaggotry, a paranoia thread, touhoufag delivering dnd content, and other useful contributions, while trollfests went unmoderated. This led to touhoufag trying to out-aspie the janitor by repeatedly posting the same thread, like this:
http://archive.easymodo.net/cgi-board.pl/tg/thread/S13171453
At the same time, the exact same (de-touhoufied) thread was under his close scrutiny with him desperately trying to keep it turning meta (SAN warning, archived thread is a clusterfuck):
http://archive.easymodo.net/cgi-board.pl/tg/thread/13170812
Allegedly the janitor then requested a mod to ban touhoufag, and much derp and drama ensued.

Feedback is helpful to the health of any community. It helps to address power issues, brings widespread issues to the forefront, and lets the people up top know what the fuck they're doing right.

Without metathreads, /tg/ is in a state where almost any thread with have meta in it, decreasing the overall quality of the board. Certainly the Janitor is doing some good things, by removing spam and bad threads, but he's also targeting personal pet peeves.

Metathreads are needed for a healthy board.

It is sad when Gaia Online has better administration and community than /tg/.
>>
No. 11340 ID: ddaac3

I feel this is by far the most appropriate place to organize on this matter, so I suggest those most intimately involved in the matter do so. At this very moment there is a metathread on /co/ about this matter, which I think is a misstep. It gives us all a blackeye to act in such a way. So, if you see a metathread, try to mention this thread and we'll try to get everyone here. Then perhaps enough deleted threads can be organized to give Moot a proper report on events.
>>

The problem I see is that threads do nothing. Unless there's something I'm missing, I propose that at the beginning of each player's turn, each player puts a post adjacent to a thread or an other post, and never mind the d20 thing.

In light of that proposed change, I propose this additional rule: If any contiguous body of posts and threads contains two or more threads, an Disagreement breaks out. The Janitor deletes all posts and threads in that cluster.

The problem is I can see no reason the snake would ever want more than one thread to be active in this case. Perhaps the number that each player must post should be equal to the number of threads? I dunno.

Anyone remember when touhou was funny, rather than FFFF SAGE REPORT NOT RELATED? Few do these days, it seems.

But to be honest, a lot of the current bitchfest has some qualities concerning it that make me suspect that the ban on lamias, touhou, and most any even mildly suggestive material is the result of a moderatorial decision, and that there is a set of rules concerning "board appropriate" material for the janitor, that due to some odd decision isn't showed to the public.

So basically, whatever gets deleted is against the rules, but we don't get told what the rules are either.

moot wants to (BIG SUPRISE) actually make money with 4chan. But if left unmoderated it would be too hard to swallow for 50+ roleplayers with too much free time (bullshit, just look at any RPG-related forum but he seems to belive that). So here's the heavy moderation that gets aplauded by the new audience.

/tg/ might actually be testgroup to see how it works. Eventually we'll see the same level of moderation in /co/ and even /int/.

That whole money thing made me seriously think about a tinfoil hat theory I saw on /tg/.

Moot's aching for money. That we all know. And we all know how butthurt people get over the subject of what's board related, what is allowed on "my /tg/", who is bad and who is good for the board, et cetera. So basically we have a lot of people with grudge lists tracking back to 2008 aching for the janitorial and mod positions too. And we all know how much disposable income fa/tg/uys seem to have. So, why not rent the janitor stool for a little windfall?

Picture related, tinfoil hattery.

I have a much better idea. Make this place awesome and mention it on /tg/ a lot. This way the good posters will eventually leave for here while crap posters will stay on /tg/.

/tg/ has the advantage ofng on 4chan which means people spill to it from unmoded boards (/co/, /v/) which is what actually brings people to 4chan in the first place. But eventually this board might become much better than /tg/ which will atract people on their own

Janitor isn't going to leave /tg/. Never. He's the kind of asshole that didn't take the job because he loved /tg/ that much, he took it because he has a vision of /tg/. He's also quite apparently entertained by causing butthurt in people who don't share his vision and all the mods like him because he has results in making /tg/ worksafe. So apparently /tg/ is going to become synonymous with extremely anal and heavyhanded moderation that makes big purle look like anarchist community. This will ensure that only serious people who discuss serious matters will come to /tg/ and anybody who wants to be even sligtly offtopic will be forced to leave.

Although I may start coming here from now on. At least the option exists here. I'm not going to say that lamia writefaggotry thread on /tg/ was the greatest ever, but fuck, it was worksafe and people were being entertained. Also, threads last a long time here, so one could potentially get a big one going and keep them consolidated (or write a really long one and post it in increments).

>trolling
Not always. Usually just if it's really blatant and not even a good troll.
>vehement arguments
If that were true, the anon thread would be empty. It's only when things like that fuck up somebody's quest thread that it's a problem.

>>11493
If a major influx of writefaggotry were to occur, there's no reason there couldn't be a /write/ parallel to /draw/.

I didn't mean to imply that most or all of that gets deleted, just that if a deletion happens it's generally in that category.

I don't know what to say other than I miss old /tg/. It makes me sad to see what it is now. I am... tempted to move here. It seems nice.

We can't have both Gnoll and Gnollbard, it'd just get confusing.

Gnollbard, you're welcome here, but correct me if I'm mistaken--aren't you the one who uses the pictures our resident Gnoll drew as his own avatar?

I am. He did, however, in my original thread, give me permission to use them on /tg/. But, if things become too confusing, I'd be more than amenable to just not using those pics. I have backups. This discussion really isn't about me though. I just kinda wanted to express my discontent at /tg/. Sorry for attentionwhoring, guys.

Fun fact: Avatarfagging is against the rules.

Or at least, it was before we scrapped the rules and added guidelines instead.

The only real rule is that you can't annoy popufur users, that will get you into trouble.
Everything else is fine though.

Oh you. This whole board is based on attention whoring. I'm just a little disappoint that you never bothered to avatarfag under your own power.

But BiteQuest is the most popufur and the last time he asked the mods to hold his dick as he pissed all over the board they cut it right off. :<

Bitequest isn't really popufur. More somewhat infamous.

No offense guys, but I don't like quest threads much. I like certain ones, but all of the ones I end up interested in just sort of die. So I ended up drifting away from the board and back to /tg/. The discussion doesn't really happen here.. so I'm eternally bound to /tg/ proper.

Though maybe I can use this as a drawfag launch platfo-

I have been having that problem too.

But I'm still puttering around /meep/ and irc.

>pony
Oh, yep. Also see www.ponychan.info
I think I'm the only person still using it as a primary thing.

Say, would you say there is any need for, say, a background drawfag? As in a drawfag that [attempts] to draw good backgrounds useable for establishing scenery in a game.

I can do characters, but I usually don't feel inspired enough, or motivated enough otherwise, to do them.

There are certainly quest authors who hate drawing backgrounds. I don't know how practical collaboration on something that's a strictly ad-hoc when-you-feel-like-it unpaid hobby thing works, though.

It's generally a good idea to post an example of your work together with proposals like that
