When Mudy awakens it is already dark. Some light still trickles in through the curtains, suggesting the desert has a bright starry sky or the moon is out in full.
He shivers. It has now become extremely cold, even inside the tent.

Mudy, think to you memories of being Latral.

Can you think why your mother would go from using Celestial to Werecat to whatever Taikah is to Kobold to full kobold blood for her children?

The progression of blood used seems to decline in quality as time passes, and that doesn't seem like something that any would-be world conqueror would do.
>>

Priority one is to get dressed, and wrap yourself in something.
I would assume you understand how cold a desert would be at night, in contrast to how warm it is in the day.

Mudy gets up. The blood crumbles away from his skin easily, having dried in the warm afternoon air while he was sleeping.
As he gets dressed he let's his mind wander to his past. Why did he become a simple boldling while his siblings - especially his oldest brother - turned out so powerful?
He can't remember any answer. Being the youngest and having been disowned so early on left him little time to learn the deeper secrets of his family tree.

The clothes provide some measure of protection against the cold, having been made far to the north.

Mudy finds Raital outide the tent on Cheryl's back. She looks rather thoughtful as well.

Apart from the soft sifting noises from the Sandworm's body moving through the sand, the desert night is in absolute silence.

Well Mother obviously made love to another Kobold. His physically weak genes obviously somehow beat her superior ones but we gained the charisma said Kobold father must have had to make it with such a powerful person.

Ask Raital what does she know about her father and his.

I don't think "made love" is quite the right term there. Allegedly, she fucked an angel, a cat beast, Zalgo, a demon/Kobold hybrid, a simple Kobold and ????.

>"Hey.."
Mudy quietly walks over and sits next to her.
>"What does the night sky, twinkling with a thousand thousand fires, make you think of?"
, he whispers softly.
He feels Raital's arm wrapping around his shoulder.
>"Y.. Your eyes."
, she whispers back.

Mudy leans into her embrace. He feels such an intense peace when with her, yet a cold piercing shadow always interrupts - That of a past and future full of horrors and darkness.
He clears his throat, subtly signaling that he would like to discuss something serious, and asks her if she knows anything about her father.. his father.. their siblings' fathers..

Raital is silent for a moment, then shakes her head.
>"I.. I really don't know."
, she whispers.
>"I think only Luhra Luhra knows about our fathers.. You know we were never allowed to ask about it."
Mud nods. He remembers.
Raital continues,
>"But-- I did overhear that the Skullking sought out the most powerful men across the continent to carry their children, but I don't know what she did with them afterwards. Maybe our fathers still live in the Citadel.. or returned home... or she destroyed them..."
It sounds more like Raital is talking to herself, repeating a previously considered monologue. Mudy suspects that the question lay heavily on her mind as well.

Mudy recollects his memories. He has no idea exactly how old he is because the Citadel is cast in eternal darkness and the Skullking did not care about birthdays.
He is quite sure that Luhra Luhra is the oldest, followed by Kuhral, followed by Taikah, followed by Raital, followed by himself.
Luhra Luhra is by far the most powerful, and was only occasionally challenged by Kuhral for the title of first heir. Raital tried her hand at getting Taikah's title too, but quickly gave up. In essence, with age comes power, and the difference in power is drastically different.

Mudy remembers he was the Blutjaeger of Platinum.
Luhra Luhra was Obsidian, Kuhral was Gold, and Taikah was Onyx.
What exactly the names were supposed to mean is unclear to Mudy.

All of them lived and trained in the ancient abandoned citadel between the Infected Wastes and End of the World, finetuned to become the greatest destroyers the continent had ever seen!
Mudy was the only one born without any obvious powers, but was able to follow in his older siblings' footsteps with the Skullking's aid.

Untill he refused to be corrupt.

Okay, really, we need to talk with Raital about patience, and the sooner the better. This is still new territory to her, so right now is the best time to convince her to tone it down a notch, especially in light of the circumstances.

Is just another moment 'cuddling' and whatever may follow worth potentially letting our party get jailed or worse because Darkmoon is in a bad mood?

We are the commander of this force, and we must help mediate this.

And we should communicate this need to Raital, and leave the talk about slowing down for later. Time is precious at the moment, I fear.

Assert presence, especially make sure Darkmoon pays enough attention to recognize that you are Mudy, the one she and Totenkopf swore they would follow (without explicitely saying it, in case the Dark elf guard dislikes the notion)

Suggest to Darkmoon (in the fashion of an advisor) 'Please, keep your temper, you know they are doing their duty as border guards.'
In the process of telling her this, don't use her name, let's keep her royal status hidden unless she wants to reveal it, as she knows a slight bit more about Dark Elf customs than we do.

Try and get this situation calmed down enough that you feel confident Darkmoon WON'T try to murder the guy, and return to Raital post haste.

Okay, I guess that talk with Raital is going to have to wait. Damn, this is going to bite us in the ass later.

Well, let's just tell him
'it is the name she gave us, and she has shown her character and will strong enough that we assume it true. Now, I would like to know why you are here, as we would like to get this cleared up as quickly as possible. So, sir guard, what business do you have with us?'

We want to get back to Raital, I'm sure our now restored memories can provide some backing to thinking that we really need to clarify that last thing we said to her.

That's a great sentiment

'We don't need to prove our love and affection at every turn, for that could lead to our friends and dreams suffering. Knowing that we will be there for each other tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after, having that faith that the other will love you just as much a day from now as they do right now, that is a true bond.

Now, we have the rest of the trip to ourselves barring interruption, why don't we go back to our tent?'

A loving and gentle lecture and giving in to her immediate demands.

Hopefully the new tactic will help start to stabilize the relationship.

Both Mudy and Raital are young and inexperienced at love. I doubt that was the last chance for anything right there. Both are exploring how to make relationships work, and on at least some level are aware of that.

There will be more chances (pending Deus Ex Machina) to normalize the relationship.
