"Ah okay. Are you her daughter?

"Y-yes."

The man takes Eistia's hand and kisses it.

"The name's Sable, Sable Dispo. Former knight and savior of fair maidens.

There's no way..

You seem to have an unjustifiably high opinion of your parents. Look, the only requirement to have kids is that people have sex and then stay alive for a while. It's not like they need to be likable or competent. You're lucky your parents are even this good! Some peoples' are much worse.

The other two corpses are... oh hell, he's controlling the old captain of the guard you got executed, and some catfolk I don't recognize offhand, who had two long bangs.

That man who looked and acted like Sable Dispo that came by? He was either a flesh golem made to look like your father or Sable's presumably soulless body. There were two other dolls resembling people there as well along with the man controlling them. The upper right third of his face is black and his left eye had a black sclera and a white iris and pupil.

be careful. the guy wanted to see you for some reason. may have something special for you. unless it was just trying to lower your guard and then do a simple sneak attack. but he may be able to have all three of the people he has attack at once, or he could have a lot more and we just didn't see them all. gem guy that saisai fought. and someone else. also you may not be able to kill his puppets since they aren't alive. your healing limit break may cause some problems with him. break his control by giving the body real life instead of just looking like life. suggest using zeroon if you can first so that the body is as close to full health as possible.

First things first! Restrain any bodies you see. If they can't move then they'll be difficult to use against you.

Oh, and if that's a zombie then it's probably one of Saisai's biological parents.

Our goal is to capture them. Aside from resurrection being possible I think these bodies have suffered enough abuse.
Oh, and even if we bring Sable back don't expect him to help your mission; he'd probably help recover Minerva, but after that he'd be too busy tracking down his old lovers and finding out just how many siblings you have.

Artemis puts the Blade away and signals Saisai to keep an eye on the surrounding forest.

"As if I would hand my father's sword to you you bastard. Using my father's body to fight me... That's the lowest thing I've ever seen. And the tigerfolk, that's Saisai's mother isn't it? That's why you sent her."

>Saisai "What!?"

The voice laughs.

"You really think I care that much? I simply pick the strongest ones I can get my hands on. Your father was just a coincidence, he's been in my collection for years. As for the tigerfolk.."

The tigerfolk stands back up and red flame-like blades emerge from her claws.

"She has the Claws of Thasti. A very very rare ability in Tigerfolk. I just had to have her."

Crap! The gravity spell is still on her and she's able to stand up against it.

If Sable's soul was in his body, the watch would have shown us where he was when Artemis said his name, so his body's definitely soulless. I guess the necromancer could be temporarily drawing back the souls when he's using the bodies...

>"Artemis.. I have this... I was saving it. It's really hard to make.. It makes anyone tell the truth. Or at least what they believe to be true. It's tricky. If someone truly believes they didn't kill someone then they will still say they didn't. We can use it. if you want that is.. And.. I'm sorry about Sandra."

"It wasn't your fault.. We need to prepare more feathers for situations such as this though."

She nods and holds out the bottle to him

Should I use it? It would make my life easier at least.

I guess she doesn't know that once upon a time YOU were dead too.

Yeah this is too important to waste here. Used on Regulus in front of a sizable audience could mean the difference in all kinds of problems. If we ever get the chance, anyway.

Since we weren't here for it, what is the deal with the other Oli being revived before? Their souls stuck around and their bodies came back without help from feathers. If we get this rock to her dragon can she be brought back? Must it be done quickly? If you can call her here or the light dragon to take it to her that could still save her.

Oh and that necromancer? Tell the fucker you've reconsidered. Then just kill him. I know it's not something you want to do but few people deserve it more than him. He should be lucky you don't feed his soul to Mimi. You can do that too, but I'm sure Eistia wouldn't approve. Maybe give him one chance to be useful before you cut him down.

You look like you've been through hell. What's wrong, Eistia?
How could they blame you for not bringing her back when you have no power over life and death?
Did you mean for arguing that nobody should be brought back?

Eistia, don't hold what Artemis said against him since he was speaking for us. We could argue over the cycle until you're old and grey, but right now you need to understand the context of your argument with Art if you want to work this conflict out.

First: The first person to be revived with a feather was Artemis, who died in the production of the first feather. You basically told him you wish he was dead.
Second: You are healthy and wealthy, but you wouldn't walk up to an ill person and tell them they don't deserve to be healthy or that they are evil for seeking a doctor. Nor would you tell a pauper that it's morally wrong for them to want money. Telling people they don't deserve what you have is a huge insult and rather cruel.
Look at your argument through that lens; you, an immortal, told him, a mortal, that his kind don't deserve to live long enough to have natural deaths.

Completely aside from our ideological differences, the simple truth is that the argument you used drove a wedge between you and Art while working against your goal of convincing him resurrection is wrong.

There is probably a very specific reason for her to be upset about that, cultural or personal we can't even guess at. We'll have Art ask her about it later I suppose.

Morgan is right you do need to loosen up on your own or you're going to someday snap when you least should. Alcohol helps with that but never drink alone again. Also I don't think it's fair to call it mind altering, it inhibits function and that's about it. It doesn't add anything so what comes out is already there. That was all you.

And on that note I would like to suggest that you talk to Morgan about your issues. She's probably the wisest, openminded and openhearted person we know. She'd make good counsel for you. Now is a good time as any. Go on open up, think of her as a sister. She could well be so before long.

Alchohol has a caloric content and is one way of gaining the body's daily required caloric intake. A number of alcohols are actually beneficial to the health of humans that drink them. Wine in particular. The same may hold true for dark elves.

The key is to drink not to drunkenness. This takes experience, and a young woman should not drink without friends or family she trusts to tell her when to stop, until she learns her limits for herself.

Gaining this experience often works well when surrounded by friends for a long night of conversation over dinner and drinks, where you nurse each drink over the course of half an hour or so at a time.

If you do decide to take mind altering substances, you should learn your tolerances for them individually, and only indulge to the degree that is both safe, and pleasant. If you wish to be more conservative than this, then indulge only to the degree that confers health benefits, and only in those substances that do so.

We should stick with Art for the time being. He's stronger but still not too sharp, boy needs guidance. Plus he's still much less strong without us and we can't do any good without him. Hell he can't even wield that sword without our help changing his gender.

Here's the thing though, you need keep to keep near Mimi. If we have a message to send with her you need to get it right away, if its us then it may be even more important. If Morgan isn't around for some reason then make sure someone is watching the chest. We do not want a repeat of what happened before that rewind.

Well I'm sure my brother will be fine. If anything he can contact me through Mimi.

Eistia sends Artemis and Saisai out to hunt for her mother while she stays in the city. She isn't able to give Mimi and GP it seems.
Most of her days are spent doing her normal duties but on her spare time she visits Morgan's Shop.

It's been three days with no sign of her mom so far.
-------------------------------------

"Are you mad at her?"

"No... I mean yeah a little. She just left me behind. It's like she cares more about him then me."

"Maybe she just wanted you to have a father."

"Yeah well that's not gonna happen now.."

Eistia slumps onto the desk.

"Don't worry."

Morgan grabs her arm.

"I'm sure Artemis will find her and then you can relax a bit more."

"... I hope so. I try not to let it show but I'm tired. Very tired. Running this place is not an easy job."

"I can imagine."

Hmm. Talking to Morgan always makes me feel better. I'm sure she'll be a great mother later in her life.

They feel the ground rumble below them

"!?"

"Earthquake!?"

There are screams coming from outside.

Don't even look at him, just lob the biggest shadow bomb you can make in his direction.
However, make it LOOK like you're putting up a wall to block his vision and path.

Since it's a wall he'll do a show of force by attempting to break it with apparently little effort. This includes not moving from his spot, which will result in him being blown into tiny chunks.

The lower bound of human reaction time in optimal conditions is about 0.1 second.
Lets assume his arm is 3' long.
That means that the wall would need to have an expansion rate of less than 9.2m/s (~21mph).

No, no torture. Kill him quickly. Also make sure he can't use that diamond in his death throes. Cut off that arm he's holding it with, for sure.

Shadow Soul Blade through bottom of jaw into brain, followed quickly by decapitation. Maybe destroy the body afterwards.

... We are sure he can't finish that Limit Break, right?

Quick.. Yes..

The shadows form a spear and stab Regulus through the lower jaw.

"Sa-"

The sprear stabs straight through his skull killing him instantly. The stone he was carrying falls but Eistia's shadow manages to catch it. After a moment his Limit Break vanishes.

Well done, but don't let the power go yet. You can see into shadows and wield them, use your power to find and rescue the wounded as best you can. And find Morgan and Mimi and make sure they are ok. Quickly!

Good.
Pity we couldn't drill him for information first, but his death is the best possible outcome.

Wait till his body grows cold to confirm his death, then see if Sandra can make his body into a living but empty vessel. His body could walk right up to the human king and end this war with a single stroke of a sword.

On a related note, where is that necromancer and what condition is she in?

Remove and bisect his head. Just to be sure. Then crush both halves.
Once that's done, save everyone you can.

It's already going away. Awesome power but it seems to only last for a few seconds.

Already her connection to the shadows are diminishing

It seems like he left Morgan's shop, Artemis's house, and mine untouched. He probably thought he might have lost the blade if those were damaged.
Everything is is destroyed though..

"ombraes tandrolar eisryn!"

Eistia turns and sees a purple blast flying at her. She barely has enough time to put up a shield to protect herself. The blast hits and sends her flying backwards into the crater.
She grabs onto the edge and starts pulling herself up.

"My friend. You killed him.."

She sees Sandra walking up to her, red energy emanating from her hand

Her friend? Regulus murdered thousands of people- destroyed the entire city, and was threatening to do more? How can she call him friend?

And how did she even know him? That seems highly unlikely. I'd stick with being defensive for now until you get this sorted.

"Seen him before. Like Artemis he would appear in my land. At first curious about my God. Then when wounded or tired he would appear. He stopped when Artemis appeared."

"Sandra he is not a friend, look at all the people he killed!"

When Eistia tries to grab onto the edge with her other hand Sandra stomps on it.

"Stay down! Do not kill people who murder! Trial solves problem, not more murder! You are no better."

"Sandra he killed my people.. He threatened to kill my mom. It was in self defense."

"You attack him! Whole time you attack him! He defended himself! Bad that he killed, worse that a 'leader' would follow."

She seems seriously pissed off an irrational.

"Leader of WHAT?!? Nothing is left!" This time you made sure to attack him because he hurt so many before! So many died at his hands, he hurt Artemis and Saisai, he attacked your village before and if we hadn't rewound time Mimi would be dead and so would all the other dragons. He would never have seen a trial no one can control him, he would have run and killed many more and doomed everyone.

Tell her to hold her judgment until Artemis returns, he can tell her all he has done himself. For now the two of you need to try to save all survivors you can. And say you are sorry that she lost a friend, you know what that is like. Many times over.

"I would have loved to arrest him and put him on trial, but he keeps coming here killing innocent people and mocking my best efforts to stop him. As much as I loathe resurrection, it's still possible to have him stand trial and defend his actions.
Be that as it may, do you see what he did this time? The horrible scale of his brutality? I couldn't let him escape to cause more harm. Not now; not after this. He was too strong for me to ever capture, and if I have to choose whose blood is on my hands between his and the countless he would have gone on to kill...

If you want him to have a trial then use your magic to heal his body. You can bring him back to life after we've stopped the human king's plans for mass genocide."

look around you. the city is in ruins most of its people are dead. he had no argument with them, they had done noting to him or his. he murdered them because it would make his job a bit easier. even if there was enough of my society left to give him a trial, we would never be able to hold someone that powerful. if you disagree with my actions take it up with me after I make sure my species still has a future. for now there are innocent people who are trapped and injured and in need of help.

No, once you find somebody injured you should send them to her. She's not heartless enough to do nothing while seeing somebody in pain.
Once she's healed one victim she'll be biased in favor of helping more, and they'll have an easier time convincing her to help.
