Arcanitech
>Arcanitech is the massive conglomerate of magical technology companies that popped up in the years following Paraply's initial bid for world conquest. Once Paraply was shut down for their power mongering, Ignometics had obtained a monopoly, and was broken down into subcompanies by government anti-trust laws. After Vresch's hostile takeover, whatever was left of the various companies rejoined into the group Arcanitech. They seem to have no clear goal.

Alright! First things first. Vresch gave me 25 luxury tickets before I left, so first thing I do is make a beeline for a barbershop. It doesn't take very long to find one, and one luxury ticket later, my hair is looking much cleaner.

Next stop on the list is a hat shop! It was run by a hobgoblin. I'd never met a hobgoblin before. He was a friendly sort of fellow. This hat cost me two luxury tickets. Possibly a rip off, but I have no idea how much things cost here, or even if overcharging me would serve a purpose. Maybe hats just cost two tickets?

Something I've noticed in my wanderings. There aren't any mega-marts or anything. Just hundreds and hundreds of specialty shops. If I were to take a guess, I'd say its probably to boost the total number of available jobs... but that's just a guess.

Last stop on the list is Arcanitech headquarters, and after this, the Sorcerer's Guild. The streets all seem to be sparsely crowded at all times of the day, no matter where I am. This particular street has much shorter buildings than the rest of the city. I think this part of Neotis must have been a part of an older city, and Neotis simply subsumed it. It doesn't take long to find the old Ignometics building, but... it... doesn't look very safe... at all.

...Well, in we go.

>Why does it say ICS on that wall?
That's just the tail-end of the word IGNOMETICS.

>Do we have something on our person for the purpose of convincing people we're important?
That would be amazingly useful, but anything I had for such a purpose would undoubtedly connect me to Rastin somehow. So, sadly, I'll need to somehow do all this on my own merits.

Although, Vresch said he'd help somehow, but I honestly have no idea what he means by that...

>Claim we came on behalf of Rastin
While that would probably work, it'd connect me to the troll pretty strongly. Not sure I want to do that.
>I doubt we have any way to verify this. We'll probably be laughed out of the building.
Also that.

>Ask to arrange an appointment as soon as possible
"Umm... Could I arrange an appointment to see him?"

"Certainly." She sets down whatever her report is and wheels her chair over to the computer. "Name?"

"Ah, Coralina Madison."

"Reason for your appointment?"

...There's all sorts of things I could say here. I should probably establish some sort of motive for why I'm going to be visiting all these leaders. How should I respond?

I don't see any violence, just a mass of people with picket signs. I ask someone on the edge what's going on. A teenage boy answers.

"Lady, haven't you heard? ...Oh, duh, if you did you wouldn't be asking. Well, these damn sorcerers have been teaching kids how to use magic, and haven't given them any control! One kid died in his own apartment after setting it on fire last week, and just this morning some kid blew up a buncha his friends by mistake! Teaching people magic is fine and all, but they're just committing secondary homicide! This just can't stand! They need to take responsibility!"

Interesting.

Should you decide to garner backing from the Sorceror's Guild, you could use this as a way to get the rest of the citizens of Neotis on your side to be more amenable to your future rule. In "reforming" the Sorceror's Guild to be more responsible and cautious in their teachings, you might mollify the civilian population.

Additionally, this is good in another way. It means we won't have to jump through goddamn hoops to learn a bit more about magic, if they're willing to teach it to a bunch of kids too stupid to not practice potentially dangerous magic in their own homes.

Its been at least 3 years, yeah. I met some big group hiding out in a walmart around then. I didn't stay long. I kinda liked living on my own. Solitude is nice, yanno? People tend to muck it up.

But I'm going to have to re-adapt to all this city stuff, since I know I'd do a better job than Rastin. Heck, if I search long enough, maybe I can even find someone to replace me.

If Vresch can control every device made by human hands, the solution is to garner the aid of people becoming nonhuman.

Anyway, I decided to visit FurReality. I can always visit Remi again later.

This entire district is covered in graffiti. Murals, posters, paintings. Most of the people here have piercings, tattoos, skimpy clothing. There look to be a roughly even mix of brothels and crafts stores.

This building here looks like a good place to ask for Naveen, seeing as her face is plastered on the wall, and the FR symbol is on the door. Its a strange symbol - you look at it one way, you see a fox in a trenchcoat. Another way, its a man in a wig. It took me a minute to see the wig man.

Well... This looks like my last chance. Do we go in, or go elsewhere? I'm not certain I like the look of this place.

A. Rastin has bugged the room to circulate a video of this.

B. Naveen is going to videotape it, either for her own purposes or for Rastin. Either way, Rastin can use it.

C. It's not being videotaped, we're just being paranoid, and Rastin just wanted to prank the shit out of us. But hey, thats our job. We're paranoid so Coralina doesn't have to be. Better safe than sorry.

"Maybe some other time? As nice as you seem to be, I'm not sure I'm wholly comfortable doing...something more with someone I just met...and other stuff. Yeah."

Also, if its your first time, you can mention that. It might get her to be a little more sympathetic to you're shyness, and thus get her to back off a bit with the aggressiveness.

>So how much control over the media do you have, exactly?
"Pretty completely. We're the only remaining certified publishers in the city. If you want to get something out, you have to go through us. However, the radio waves and the internet are entirely free to anyone. The Men's Club has one TV channel to themselves, and Bleeding Hearts has 3, so we can't touch those. Arcanitech shoots a couple of shows, but they go through us to do it. Pretty much everything else on the air is ours, sweetheart."

>We are here looking at political organizations, does your group have any strong political beliefs, or are you mostly business minded?
"We believe in creative freedom! Censorship ruins creativity. So we were founded with the principle that anything we publish will be made to live up to your vision of it. Rastin liked the idea, so we flourished, and our competitors floundered. So yeah, we're mostly business minded now."

>How do you feel about Rastin?

Purple it is.

I watch them play out the rest of their game. Rastin is very erratic. He seems to lean towards aggressive, but sometimes does things for reasons I don't really understand.

Roselle plays a slow and steady sort of game. She takes her time, sets up her position, then goes on the offensive.

Rastin loses in short order.

How should I play, orb? Agressively or defensively?

I'm playing Roselle, not Rastin.

I decide to play aggressively, and try to take her out before she can get a good position set up.

Turns out the purple deck is a slower deck. By trying to start aggressively, I weakened my late game position, and just don't have the early power I need to win. We play three games, and I win none of them.

Speaking of actions potentially causing risk, I've been thinking about what sort of summoned armor might provide the best protection and versatility. Some key points I've noticed:

1. Your summons seem to be mainly limited by your imagination and a general mass limit.
2. Summoned creatures can have at least rudimentary intelligence of their own.
3. Even if they look like normal creatures, summons do not have to have physiologies that render them vulnerable to poisons and drugs.
4. For reasons obvious enough that I'm sure you have no need of an explanation, any summons we suggest should be easy to draw.

I suggest starting with a big suit of muscles, chitin plates, and eyes. You'll be blind, so there's no reason not to cover all of your head completely, with a bone grill for breathing through. Give it 2 solid arms of it's own in addition to the hollow arms that fit over yours, and maybe a few tentacles with blades or claws on the end. If your armor looks creepy, you might be be able to scare people off without fighting. If someone's encroaching on your personal space, add spikes.
>>
No. 54784 ID: 904da4

Y'know, I've been wondering. You told us in the beginning that you are unable to summon anything beyond a certain mass, but that you aren't sure what that mass is. You need to test this. Additionally, you need to train your abilities. Perhaps practice summoning defensive objects (such as steel walls) on reaction. These most recent visits have me quite nervous about your wellbeing.

The whole idea of creating weapons and armor for Coralina to fight with is just no good. She's had no training with moving or using them. After all, it's not like she can't just conjure a cage or something similar around any aggressor.

We also need to have a goal for a creature to summon. I suggest we make it our goal to learn at least enough to summon a Tarrasque. I mean how many summoners can claim they summon the destructive force of godzilla in a CR 30 package.

How does this look? The fibers hold the chitinous plates together, and I can switch which eye I am mindlinked to at almost anytime, so they aren't too much of a weak point. I wasn't sure where to put the spare arms, so I used tentacles instead. The tentacles can have blades or hands on the ends as needed.

>1. Your summons seem to be mainly limited by your imagination and a general mass limit.
Yup.

>2. Summoned creatures can have at least rudimentary intelligence of their own.
No, they don't. They have a direct telepathic link to me, and everything they do is done by me thinking about it. They have no intelligence of their own.

>3. Even if they look like normal creatures, summons do not have to have physiologies that render them vulnerable to poisons and drugs.
Correct.

Make sure your armor has some eyes facing backward, upward, and downward. While you can't use them all at once, it would be easier for you to avoid getting surprised if you could rapidly and easily switch perspectives to below, above, and behind you.

Cora was manhandled because Naveen caught her off guard. Naveen managed to hold her down and manhandle her and all that because she is, get this, physically stronger than Coralina is. Cora, initially, did not think Naveen was a threat, nor did she want to hurt Naveen at any point. Well, she entertained the idea, but her logic said that it was a dumb thought.

Cora specifically said she didn't want it here: >>51190
Cora tried to get Naveen off of her here: >>51207
Cora ended up resorting to summoning a gorilla in a tuxedo to get her off here: >>51262

Cora resisted. Had she known she was going to be raped when she walked in, Naveen never would have pinned her. Just because Cora knows how to fight doesn't mean she's all that physically strong. She's a squishy sorceress.
>>
No. 55260 ID: fd6933

I dig the new battle form. Considering how well it turned out, maybe we should come up with some others. A spider-suit for mobility and optional poisoning? Or a proxy we could send so as to avoid getting into trouble in the first place.

Alternately, since all of this could be taken from Cora if a fight goes badly, maybe she should hit the gym instead. It's no wonder she's a squishy sorceress if Mr. Bananas has done all the heavy lifting for the last five years.

>How would one go about learning how to improve their summons?
It takes... time. And practice. Lots of practice. Trust me, I've improved a lot in these 6 years. The chart here represents roughly the biggest things I could summon at given times. The reason I can't give you an exact amount for the largest thing I can summon is because I don't have any way to measure, and it depends on how tired I am. I can summon bigger things while I'm refreshed and have a clear mind.

>Make sure your armor has some eyes facing backward, upward, and downward.
There were eyes in the back, yes.

>Unless you're great at avoidance I'd suggest bulking up as much as possible.
I'm one of them dexterity based dodgy types, yes. Besides, that is already as bulked up as I can get it. I packed as much extra mass into the density of the chitinous plates as possible.

Ya know a summon of yourself would be a REALLY useful tool for when you come to power. You can make it so both your eyes work in the summon, and you will have a very realistic body double.

To be honest, I had a familiar in mind, rather than a clone. You don't need to deceive anyone - you have important things to do, like pushups, or playing Raiden with Hope. Just tell people you're following another lead.
