>"T-thanks!"

It's been a week since Mal showed up-Axel and I have stayed holed up, only taking out the zoms if they got close to the store. We've been seeing less and less of them, but the pile of re-dead creatures has grown pretty large. We might have to start burning bodies.

We're on our first raid now-a Five Below place. It's the closest place to the Super Duper Mart, so why not? There will be candy, office stuff, and entertainment. Not a...serious raid, I suppose. But still fun.
>>

Alright. So... on with the raid then?

Until a mod notices the report. Usually, not more than a day, I think?

((You've been drawing for 11 hours, I think you deserve a break))
Knock on the door/call out a bit when you enter a building; this makes it so that the zombies come to you, which makes zombie surprise attacks harder. When you finish clearing off a building of zombies/stuff mark the door with an X and "super-duper mart" or something so people will know where you are.

We enter. The stores is dark, but it appears pretty empty already.

What idiot would raid a Five Below instead of the Super Duper Mart right next door?

And then I see her.

A young rabbit girl, hardly even 9 years old seeming in the dark. She's bare naked, a crowbar in hand, covered in blood of the zombies all around her.

>"D-d-d-don't hurt m-me!" She pleads, her voide full of pain and terror.

"Sweetie, sweetie! I'm not going to hurt you!" I reply in a smooth, low voice. I lower down onto my knees, my head ringing louder. I assume it's from the fact that I seem to have found a traumatized little girl--all that I can think of is that she was raped.

"Sweetie, who did that too you..? Why are you out here all by yourself?"

>"...D-daddy...He was gone for two days...I-I didn't...W-w-want to get dressed b-because if he saw m-me, he'd g-get angry...B-but the food, it was out..."

Oh shit.

"Ssshhh, sweetie, it's okay...Your daddy isn't gonna come back and hurt you, okay? You can come with me and my best buddy, alright? Do you want me to carry you--"

Look at her. She probably beat down those zombies because she was afraid ~daddy~ would punish her if she died.

You can see it already. You'll all be sleeping at night and she'll cry out in her sleep. She'll see a shadow and think it's coming for her. She'll make noise, the zombies will figure you out!

It's better to wait for a more able child. One that has hardened and won't flash out in trauma.

Better yet, instead of leaving her for the zombies, kill her yourself. Do a good deed for the kid. All kids go to heaven, right? Innocence and all that jazz? Nothing to worry about. Just tell Axel she was already dead.

I don't know. I was only giving a scenario-but yes, the craziness of the idea shows how damaged her mind may be already. Though I am very glad another agrees with me.

She may be skilled with the crowbar, but say she lapses into a delusion? She sees Axel, thinks it's her father coming back...And beats him senseless? He wouldn't have the balls to hurt the kid back. What do you say, Sam?

...N-no! I can't...Leave her! She's a little kid! Burden or not! She needs a mother, someone to show her the good of the world before it's all gone!

Unfortunately, in this world, there are none. Everyone that has survived this far has endured some form of trauma.(some more than others) Everyone is broken in some way, and the only thing you can hope to do is find someone to help fill in between the pieces that are left.

Nice one! You showed very strong will in facing your fear. You've shown that if you try, you can fight for what you think is right! We get back, and I settle the girl down on the mattress and wipe the majority of the blood from her. I find a nice warm robe with cartoony cats on them, which she hesitantly puts on. I remind her that her daddy won't be here to yell at her, and she gladly slips it on.
She stays back at the mattress, her even breathing telling me that no matter the scare, this will be the first time she's had in a bit to feel safe enough to sleep.

I settle down in the middle of the room with Axel, who tells me that he'll make us all dinner. I tell him okay, anything is fine to eat.

I can tell he wants to ask what I was so freaked out about. He won't, though.

He says my bleeding ended an hour ago, and that I soaked an entire mattress.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's not healthy to lose that much blood at once; or ever. My head is heavy, my limbs feel useless and dull. All I can taste and smell is blood.

Axel feeds me juice packets and cookies-even helping me chew once seeing I was too weak to do that even.

I was so eager to watch how long it would take the girl to find out it was back!

A little clarification, since you are all just as dull as her-in some cases, a brain tumor can take on...functions of its own. In my case, I became conscious. Sadly, I have no control over the nervous system-but I had enough reign to create an image of myself for her to see. It only makes me that much more powerful-seeing is believing!

So you're a magic tumor.

Alright Mal(which I assume is a name you picked because you were called a "Malignant" tumor), here's my take on things. As something whose body essentially resides inside and subsists off of Sam's, if she dies, you die. You also don't want to get surgically removed. So, you're desperate. You want her to see you as useful and necessary. If that doesn't work, you'll settle for controlling her via threats and nonlethal injury.

Am I in the right ballpark here? You're acting out because you're scared she's gonna find a surgeon and have you essentially killed?

Now, I have a question that Sam probably wants answered too. Can you avoid taking over more of her headspace? Stop spreading, and go from malignant to benign? Change your name to Ben maybe? Heh.
>>
No. 482820 ID: 78c6ea

So is Mal is some sort of cancer, this brain tumor, and has gained sentience. He should be smart enough to know that killing the host kills him, as well as the fact that cancer is inherently bad, and we pretty much know not to listen to you. But, I have a question; what happens if you do take over Sam's brain? Since you may be a zombie, would be a walking-zombie-tumor-cancer-bag, or just dead?

Here's a diagram to give you a rough idea of what's happening. I reside on the very back of her brain-at that particular point, I only have reign over her vision-I am currently growing into the language portion as well. Spread up, I'll hit the rather large area of movement! Spread down, coordination.

I have no intention of stopping my growth. I would very much like to use this body as a host.

Now, as for if I'm a zombie tumor...I honestly do not know. I assumed it was merely relapse-at an extremely fast pace-of missed tumor cells. I do, however, though I reluctantly admit so, that I have quite an odd...Blood lust. I do not believe it will turn me into one of those monsters out there-if that were so, you'd think my intelligence would seep away as I grew.

Not 'believing in me' is no longer an option. Sam did not 'believe in me' before her black out, so I made her. I forced her brain into painting me into a picture. I can quite literally force her to see what I want-and now, the child as well. Who knows if my growth will affect her as well? It will be interesting-and since you have mentioned before talking to Axel, it wouldn't hurt to try as well...

Just so it's clear, I'm currently balled up on the floor sobbing.

Whats the likelihood of finding a surgeon willing to preform a brain operation out here? NONE!

If I am destroyed, so are you?

It's very possible that many other tinier tumors are in her brain-such as all of you.

Where I am the alpha, and you are the weaker ones meant to follow me? What if, hmmm?

I propose that if you join my cause of taking her body, you'd each earn chances to directly control parts of her-whatever it may be. I throw my body forwards into an awkward crouch to duck, as the voice tells me. Seconds pass by and nothing happens.

...I feel like someone forgot that I can't exactly throw things or physically hurt people?

Jesus Christ, it talked!

I am not an it. I am a self-aware brain tumor living inside your friends head, slowly taking over and gaining the power to be seen by alien brains as well. The other voices are much smaller tumors, but also self-aware.

Hey, don't think like that! These two would be dead or worse if not for you. You're not a danger- you help people.

You're a pretty cool person. And you're host to a group of pretty cool people! ...and one jerk. Not so bad, all in all.

And there's gotta be something we can do about this. A cure, or a treatment. There's lots of things we could try! Suicide is a last resort. We've got lots of things to try first. Your life isn't worth giving up so easy.

Just know that I did my best to treat him as an equal, but he always lost his temper when he didn't get his way.

You keep on living the same as you did before Sam; one day at a time. Right now, we're not sure that you dieing would even end this. You also have someone to care for, and someone that (most likely) cares for you. Don't give up fighting until the war is lost for sure. We'll find some way to fix this, it's what we always do.

So Sam, you seem to have at least one tumor with supernatural abilities. Have you considered that you might also have some sort of powers?

And don't worry about being a danger to the rest of us. Mal seems mouthy enough to give the rest of us (well, the rest of them) plenty of warning if he starts getting powerful enough to physically cause trouble.

>>
No. 483019 ID: 389f2b

>>483016

As much as I would love an easy solution as that, it'd be extremely out of character for Mal to do. As he grows, he becomes more and more malicious and power hungry. He's been insulted and embarrassed, so to give up would mean admitting everyone was right, and that he is wrong and indeed very weak.

From this point on, any time that he talks to Sam will be to try and break her. He's desperate and scared and the other 'voices' will actually repel him-and for the record, they can do so-so it is in his most interest, though certainly not best, to keep fighting back for control of Samantha.

How it all plays out is up to the commands: Anything demoralizing her will weaken her will to fight, but positive feedback will weaken Mal instead.

No point in the plot reveals this, so I might as well say so myself, that Mal is actually the ~~~zombie tumor~~~ that others were deducing earlier. His reason past control and bloodlust is nonexistent; he can't go long without a burst of violence.

It's like taking a zombie and giving them a chance to have an able, fast, strong body, with a down payment of actual intelligence and though not perfect, sense of self preservation. He wants this body so that he can crush others and prove his strength; He is fuckin' BAD, and no one can tell him otherwise, else their body will be laying dismembered and palpated on the doorstep of the foolish.

Wikified, for great justice.

>>483019
Pity, really. His position is understandable- he's a new consciousness trapped within another. Being immature, or lashing out in anger or for control, is understandable, even the logical responce. But we rather poorly handled any diplomacy with him, and he completely ignored suggestions to try and be anything but the big bad usurper.

Could probably merit a dis thread too, at this point.
