Naw, only on one side. That wall's got your back.

They can't flank you, so whichever tries to strike first is going to eat an axe. Start sliding along that wall towards whatever direction will give you the best chance of repositioning more advantageously. If you can find a door or other way to narrow their approaches that would be good.

Well Levias is most likely holed up in some office, assigning soldiers and documents like a NERD.. Derek is.. I'm not sure where Derek is, actually! But I am quite certain he has been deployed somewhere within this land! In fact, perhaps I should seek him out and see if hasn't SHAPED UP yet.

This is just embarrassing.
Bind it up so you can keep it prisoner. If Derek hasn't SHAPED UP then he can train against it.
Meanwhile, ask it about their supply chains and where they've been getting their food. It mentioned one city you can CLEANSE, but if there are supply outposts those would make great way points on your trek into enemy territory.

Pah! This demon has no understanding of their greater plan. You must capture one higher up the chain of command. Once she has told you where to find her superiors, take her away from the camp, disorient her so she cannot report your position, and banish her from the kingdom.

This is nearly the perfect plan... but it is lacking in righteousness. Once the vile creature has finished blubbering and has told you where its superiors are, you must dispatch it swiftly! "DEMON." She jumps, startled. "WHERE IS YOUR KIND GETTING THEIR FOOD. TELL ME ABOUT YOUR SUPPLY CHAINS."

She stares at the ground. "I dunno.. The others always hunted food, and I don't really eat food that everyone else eats.. So I never had to worry about it.. I'm sorry.. I'm sorry." She attempts to wipe tears from her eyes before giving up, her hands slumping to her sides.

>should we even ask how old she is?

So it seems you have a soft spot for children/childlike creatures. Be wary for this, for the enemy may put other like this one in front of you if they learn of this. Do not think of it as a weakness, but a hurdle to overcome. Think of the children who's lives were destroyed by the demons. That will give you the drive to overcome. We continue out of the camp, she glances at every little thing with curiosity.

>Are you implying you did not take pleasure in the battle against the demons here?

They attacked me, I-.... I have much to think about..

>Battle is no cruelty! It is a contest of man against man demon, a contest with very high stakes, but where all know the consequences of failure!

Yes! They fought with the intention of taking my life! They were powerful foes who fought well!...Most of them, anyway.

>Tell her she must always call you "Sir Solis the Holy and Righteous, Bane of all Demonkind, Destroyer of that which Defiles the Pure, and Flexer of Enormous Muscles"

I feel as though, if someone overheard that, I might seem a tad silly... But the temptation remains..

Why startle her? Simply make her carry some heavy piece of equipment, and that will eliminate the problem of her being distracted while also teaching her the value of labor. This will also ensure her loyalty in the future, so long as you tell her that she is doing a good job, occasionally.

This could be a chance to determine, once and for all, whether or not demons are capable of being hard-working, God-fearing, productive members of society. If they are, then it presents an excellent opportunity for missionary work; if they aren't, then one need not feel guilt at cleansing the world of their presence.

That is a fantastic idea!.... But.. really I only carry my spear. I don't really have equipment to give.

>For now, she's on scouting duty. Tell her to stay focused and look out for enemies.

"Demon. You are on scouting duty. Do not lollygag. Stay focused and look out for enemies. Inform me immediately if you see anything dangerous."

And kind of rude sometimes, but you get used to it.. There's arch-demons.. They're the super big ones! They're super super strong, and cool! But friendly too.. The fairy glances to us fearfully, "S-Sati! Just leave it! We can't get seen like this!! We can't beat all of them! And look at that guy! He caught that little girl! We can't take these guys, Sati!!"

It seems it was quite fortunate that I came up with such a well thought out plan, of destroying the trees. It seems the orchestrator duo of the forest have shown themselves at last. A dryad and a fairy. The reactions from the bandits are mixed. Some look on with curiosity, some with fear, and some with anger. They aren't actually demonic. Mere monsters.. Beasts.

>Can you defeat the river and make it get out of your way? We are in lands inhabited by monsters and demons, this may not be an ordinary river and therefore there may be extraordinary solutions to this problem.

I splash the river about a bit. Sadly, it is simple water. Nary a sentient river to be seen.

>Dig around the river to lighten the force of the water flow per square inch, reinforce your path with a bridge.

Alas! We've no shovels! I propose to my companions, that we could simply dig with our hands, but for some reason, they are unenthusiastic about the idea!!

>grab a tree and lay it across the river as a bridge.

A clever plan! But we have already traveled too far from the forest, and there are no trees nearby! The river continues to churn. I inform my companions of this clever idea, and they agree that it would have been suitable. The druid sweats a bit.

"Uh, Mister Sebastian." One of my new companions beckons my attention.

"YES MY DEAR COMRADE?"

"Before we headed your way, our group crossed this river by way of bridge. Through a town."

"WONDERFUL! IN WHICH DIRECTION DOES THIS TOWN LIE" I give him a firm pat on the back, he coughs a bit.

"Um.. West, sir. But you see, sir, this town isn't the friendliest sort, y'know? We were fine passin' through earlier.. but a guy like you? A band a crusaders might not find it as easy."

Hmmm.. It seems with further deliberation we have gained more options. This town sounds like it would be difficult to pass through peacefully as a man of God.. But perhaps that is just what they need.. The decision lingers still

Druids may also have magic for passing rivers or walking on top of them, but I'm not sure we want to presume overmuch on our recent prisoner's loyalty. Stupid questions: Can you find or build a boat or a raft? How did you solve this problem the last time you had it? Is there another bridge in the other direction from the bandit town maybe?

After following alongside the river for some time we reach a large shoddy looking town. The buildings around us are missing several windows and some even doors. Night has fallen upon us and clouds gather overhead.

"We're here, sir. Looks like just in time too. A bit o' rain headin' our way I reckon! I know an inn in town, maybe we could shack up for the night!" My tossle-headed compatriot says jovially. I am sure the lowlife population of this town would be thrilled to see a crusader such as I, and welcome me to stay at the inn, but I am unsure how thrilled they would be at the sight of two monsters and a ferocious demon..
