She came out of the south, when the time was right.

It was the way of her people, once she came of age, to be cast out to fend for herself. Sent into the world to claim her own place with it through her own means.

She didn't have a name, it would not be allowed. Until she had her own holdings to lay claim to, a name would hold no value - so while in the care of her family she was never given one.

She did have some assets though, abilities that would aid her in carving out her own niche in the world.

Was she:

A MIGHTY FIGHTER - Strong, Tough, and skilled at direct and personal acts of violence, claiming what she wanted through force

A CLEVER SNEAK - Nimble, Lithe, well-versed in skulking undetected through the nooks and crannies of the world, claiming whatever she could while nobody was looking

A CUNNING ROGUE - Quick-witted and sharp-tongued, an expert at deceit and misdirection, claiming a place in the world through charm and bargaining

A CURIOUS SCHOLAR - Eager to seek out forgotten lore, with knowledge of many arcane workings though no known spellcasting ability, claiming those parts of the world nobody else would know well enough to want

AN IMPETUOUS YOUTH - Lacking in any particular gifts or abilities, but possessed of an innate fortitude and fortune, claiming a place in the world through any means she could scrape together

Her lithe, agile frame - well-suited to climbing and sneaking, crested the cliff to look out to the west, into the setting sun. All the lands east were already claimed by her kin, so she would need to look farther abroad to find a place to stake her claim, and in so doing take a name for herself.

To the east was a fertile, well-grown land, ancient forests of evergreens and vast marshes and rivers, and eventually the sea beyond. Many of the short-lived humans dwelt there, either in small forest villages or large towns where they sent boats down the rivers to trade abroad.

To the north and south, Mountain Ranges hemmed in the fertile valley. The range to the south hosted many ancient, older forests, homes to the long-lived tree-souled humans.

To the north, the Mountains were much larger, rockier crags. She knew little of their contents, but had heard that beyond it the temperatures grew warmer and the land more open. She had no information on what manner of people dwelt therein.

She decides to set off toward the north, moving through the lowlands and forests where food and cover are plentiful.

As the day goes on, She begins to grow hungry. She has hunted for herself numerous times, but game in the valley seems a bit different than back in her homelands, and she isn't certain how to do so. Dragons like her may be immortal, but they still need to eat!

She smells something enticing, however ... The unmistakable odor of tender flesh scorched with flame. There appears to be a human using his inferior tiny flame to prepare a small animal nearby!

She decided to sneak away out of sight, but to still keep tabs on the human to see what methods he used to capture his prey. Slinking away and climbing up into a tree, she was able to feast as she watched him prepare some manner of concoction which he set fire to, while he strung a rope around several bush branches and into a small loop on the ground, and then sat quietly.

He was still sitting quietly by the time she finished eating his previous kill, which was slightly undercharred for her taste but she lacked the ability to prepare it properly in a sneaky fashion.

She decided she'd seen enough, and that it would be best to move on. If she continued to pester the human, he would almost certainly understand that she had stolen his prey -- and while one human would not be a threat to one such as herself, there were always more to come. She wouldn't have minded waiting around for another one of those delicious animals, though she would need to be sure it were properly charred the next time.

She understood the language of the short-lived humans fairly well, the creatures were wide-spread and industrious enough that it was beneficial to understand what they were saying. She had some capacity to speak it, but it didn't quite sound right given her lack of fluency and her rather different mouth and throat.

One could be forgiven for not recognizing a Dragon of such majesty immediately, if they were unfamiliar. It was only with her last molting that her full Mane had grown in, signifying her adulthood and heralding her banishment from her familial lands.

She continued on toward the north, though the heavily wooded terrain made progress slow. Almost before she knew it, the sun began to fall behind the horizon, and darkness began to overtake the land. While she could still see perfectly fine by even the faintest starlight, it was widely known that fearsome beasts prowled the nights. And while none of these beasts would be a true threat, even a minor injury could be an annoyance if she was to continue a long journey to the north.

She needed to decide if she was going to find shelter for the evening or press through the night, and what she would be looking for in either case.

She decided to rest for the night, and found the biggest, sturdiest tree she could to climb up into, better to sleep among the branches than to curl up on the dirt like an animal.

The night passed uneventfully, and as the first rays of dawn filtered in through the needles of the branches she felt herself wake. She felt unpleasantly sticky from the tree's sap, but otherwise unharmed and well-rested. She climbed a bit further up the tree, to the branches that she hadn't trusted to hold her weight for the duration of the night, and surveyed the north to plot her course for the day.

She saw A sizeable human town, and she had come to learn that a town of such size would surely be one they used for trade -- meaning that there would be roads in the area. But it also meant there would be more people out and about. She could detour around the area to the east or west, though if she went east around them she would skirt alongside the territory of other dragons, and she had heard that human populations actually grew denser toward the west.

A detour would also add time to her journey, and while she had ample time to spend she felt a twinge of impatience, eager to claim her own land and her own name.

She continued to look out as the sun rose, attempting to decide how she would go about traveling for the next day. She was still probably several days away from reaching the craggy mountain range she was setting out for.

Consider claiming the town, itself. Figure out who's in charge of the local military/law enforcement, observe them from afar until you're confident in your fluency with the language, then abruptly appear in the guard captain's bedroom shortly before dawn and ask for a job. Such an entrance in itself demonstrates that you could be the town's best friend or worst enemy, and asking politely shows that you'd prefer the former.

She decided to make her way into the town, and just cut through it directly.

As she moved northward, the forest became a bit thinner, and the sorts of trees that appeared gradually shifted. She reached what appeared to be the outskirts of the town's territory, as the bridge across the nearby river had what appeared to be guards posted at it. Fortunately, they were distracted enough that she should be free to sneak by them even with the relatively open ground.

She had to consider how she planned to move through the town, as it was fairly large. She knew that she would be trying to acquire some goods as she passed through, but she wasn't sure which sorts of goods she should try to acquire, and how she should go about acquiring them. She even considered simply revealing herself to some Humans, and possibly staking a claim on this territory of her own -- It wasn't terribly far from her ancestral grounds so she would likely end up crossing paths with a greater number of rival dragons, but if the humans could be suitably cowed the nearby land looked to be relatively well-farmed and populated, and they would probably make fine subjects. However, if she was still planning to move northward into the craggy mountains, this town would be a bit too far away for her to keep tabs on in the long-term.

Well things to steal would be wire like we saw that hunter use so we can try that to catch our own meals and cook them right. Other things to take would be food, anything that catches you're eye, and probably something to carry it all in. Just try and stick to small things that are easy to carry, no point in waying yourself down.

As for where to go, keep moving and try to remain unseen. People tend to hate it when you steal there junk so I only see problems for you if you stick around to long.

Theft is obviously an option, but let's give honest commerce a try first. Tap one of the guards on the shoulder from behind and ask for directions to a blacksmith, then ask the blacksmith for an apprenticeship. Superhuman musculature and fire breath should have enough obvious utility in metalworking to offset most social problems, and as soon as you get paid you're on your way to building up a proper hoard.

She was easily able to sneak by the humans at the bridge, and make her way into the town. It was fairly sparsely populated, despite the number of buildings -- it seemed that most people left it during the day, or mostly stuck to parts of the area she didn't go through.

She considered stopping to speak to the people in town, but between having another destination and being unsure of how they would respond to a dragon, she opted against it. She had little interest in blacksmithing either way.

There were more people once she entered what appeared to be a trading district, but not so many that she couldn't continue to skulk about in the shady areas between stalls and on those rooftops that would support her weight, remaining undetected.

She made away with several gleaming objects that likely held some value, and also a length of rope that looked to be of similar make to the rope used by the hunter in the woods. Lacking much in the way of carrying them, she piled them on a nearby roof - the only method she had of holding them would be in a part of her throat that was used to produce her fire breath. She wouldn't be able to breathe fire while they were there, but it would be a way to carry them until a better option presented itself. As she went, she opportunistically grabbed any stray food which smelled pleasant to her, much of it fresh and smoked meats.

As she was lounging atop one of the roofs in the town with her gains, She heard a commotion raising in the streets, as many people left their stands, or called out from them, attempting to rally the guards. Apparently they had noticed that their wares had been vanishing, though they hadn't been attentive enough to catch her in the act.

She needed to decide if she wanted to leave with what she already had, or perhaps stick around to try to steal anything else. Maybe she would come up with something else to do, who knows.
