No, I mean, dubs was programmed to love Sev. How about this guy? What form does his loyalty take?
>>
No. 798303 ID: c8b031

Well, let's see. Last you described him, he was an "emotional flatline" who "hated himself and loved sosa", and you tuned the sosa love down. I assume you'd have been a swell enough guy to tone down the self-hate, too. And then you also gave him a "devil-may-care attitude" about pain. Perhaps about other things too? In which case he should be a casual, carefree, happy-go-lucky sort of guy, a little. Maybe.

Anyway, say hi. Offer a fistbump.

"soooo uhhhh"
73-6 chews on his lip.
"no hard feelings?"

38-4's mouth twitches as he tries to remember how to use it.
It contorts itself into an approximation of a grin and sits there, wobbling.

There's only so much you can change about a guy in reconstitution; but 73-6 has had the opportunity to make a few key modifications to 38-4's purgatory of a brain.

What kind of person was he trying to make in there?

"Why would there be hard feelings?" 38-4 asks. His voice is all synthesized digitally; his mouth doesn't move when he speaks.

"about the whole... well, how are you feeling?"

"Do you feel uncomfortable because you killed me?"
"a little."

38-4 shakes his head. "73-6. If it hadn't been you, it would have been a million other things. And every one of those things, including you, led to the same thing, which is the thing all things must lead to. And then they change. You see? We're proof of it. Nothing ever lasts, but nothing is ever lost, because nothing can ever be lost. Consciousness is the universe trying to understand itself in billions of different ways, until it decides to become something else. There was a piece of the world that decided to call itself 38-3 for a while. And when it died it might have turned itself into ashes, or dirt, or food, and there would be eggs laid in it to hatch more little consciousnesses. Like data points in an ineffable program. With a meaning they don't know, and don't need to. But instead now there is a piece that thinks of itself as 38-4."

He puts a hand on 73-6's shoulder. "And it needs a weapon if it's going to help."

Something loud and with too much stopping power. He's a brick tank, he gets a more dakka kind of gun.
>>

>>808196
No, last thread people voted to focus on his damage resistance mods. He's a tank. Thus, we should get him something that works best when he's close to the enemy.

Shotgun or high caliber pistol I'm thinking. Or both?

Give him some kind of autocannon or something if we've got one. Otherwise some kind of armor piercing shotgun. Should be handy.

Also I think we actually made him even creepier when we brought him back. This technology is weird.
>>
No. 808212 ID: 8d4593

Get this guy a fucking Rail-Gun or Recoiless Rifle.
It would be a shame if he were shooting anything less powerful than HEAT or anti-tank Sabots.

Maybe get him a flame thrower as a side arm.
>>
No. 808213 ID: 5372b5

We've got Pen for choppy-slashy close work, Dubs for overwatch and 38-4 is spec'd for being a bullet sponge. I say something mid-range with lots of firepower. Autocannon or a big rifle with underslung grenade launcher?
>>
No. 808214 ID: 3ce125

Oh yeah that's right, he'd be able to lug around a big-ass autocannon and not die from the reduced mobility. Gonna swap my vote over to that from shotgun/pistol.

I know 88-11 got killed doing this very thing, but it seems like he didn't have very many durability upgrades. Let's do it right this time.

Grenades.

Should we think about a sidearm too? The stock Bureau snubnose pistol or something more exotic?
>>
No. 808223 ID: be0718

Suppressive fire to match his pain suppression. Give him a silenced submachine gun. That's about as heavy as it gets while staying quiet. Perhaps a deployable shield, too?
>>
No. 808234 ID: 3ce125

Hmm, riot shield sounds like a good idea too. I guess we could narrow it down to a few loadout choices then pick one.
>>
No. 808258 ID: 00a1f6

Get him something like this.
https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Loose_Cannon
>>
No. 808259 ID: 7d8168

Oh yeah, 38-3 was kind of a mess because he was spec'd too many ways at once. Let's synergize with his tank options. Get him a riot shield if we've got it, maybe even some heavier body armor too. Then actually maybe something lighter weapon-wise, like an SMG or a sawed-off shotgun. No matter how durable you are, sometimes you just gotta move and he'll already be lugging around quite a bit of weight with those defensive options.
>>
No. 808289 ID: f36501

Body armor and riot shield. Shotgun or cannon with that, whichever can be held.
>>
No. 808298 ID: 1e7aa8

We are most likely going to have to deal with entrenched goons on siosa's payroll.

So get our zen buddy a riot shield, an SMG and a grenade launcher. (bitches love 'nade launchers)

Though not related to a gun, I feel 38-4 needs a crystal or something in his head hole to help open his Ajna so he can better focus his Third Eye.

808345

Which weapon set does 38-4 get?

An optic-link autocannon, classically vehicle mounted but which he can carry around and hipfire,

or a ballistic shield so big a normal human would have to push it around on wheels, with a .50 cal hand cannon?
>>
No. 808346 ID: 262ceb

I think a shield would be best because he'd be able to act as mobile cover for his teammates.

No. 808347 ID: 00a1f6

>>808345
Can he take option 2, and strap option 1 to his back in case he needs something stronger than a handgun?
>>
No. 808360 ID: 8080e6

Option 2 furthers the tank line, which helps him round out the team better. We've got enough DPS as it is.

Penelope pokes her head into the armory as 38-4 feeds bullets the size of fingers into his speedloaders. Her face is significantly less ashy and gaunt than it was yesterday.

"Spook's awake?"
"Hello, Penelope." 38-4 doesn't look up. "You're my killer, I'm told. Congratulations."
Penelope eyes him askance. "Uhhh gracias." You told him? she mouths at 73-6.
73-6 shrugs. "he asked."
"Every murder is a midwifery and every murderer a midwife." 38-4 clicks his massive revolver closed. "To a birth we don't necessarily welcome or comprehend but a full birth. Of a full litter of things. Hard feelings, in this case, not among them. As I already told 73-6. Don't worry."
Penelope's eyebrows freight most of the way up her forehead. "You checked this hombre with a thermometer before you took him out, right?"
"When the mission comes I'll either live long enough to warrant your approval, or die," 38-4 says. "And if I die I won't need to worry about anyone's approval. That's the refreshing simplicity of expendability."

"Riight." Penelope edges the other way, sees the robot face Sara gave 73-6-2's chassis, and scoots back the direction she came. "Speakin of mission, Monica says to tell you briefing's good to go whenever you are, Sev-Three. Unless you two ain't done uhh philosophizing in here."
>>

>>
No. 808895 ID: be0718

I guess we need to give 73-6-2 a gun too. Tell you what, we're actually one gun over our own capacity so let's give him the Sintek railgun. Depending on his chassis' composition, we may have an assassin completely undetectable by scans.
His skillset is basically ours so other than that, just get him our standard equipment.
