Well looking back on the last thread, it seems like you were on the verge of finding something out about this unconscious realm.

Try flipping the coin? You need to try and force some reaction while you are here. I have a hunch this place is somewhere between reality and elsewhere. Maybe even past and future?

Try to test with the coin. That seems to be our one constant since we found it.

Your dreams are filled with images. Some familiar and so vivid you could swear you are there, drunkenly feeling up barmaids.

The images quickly switch, to your dissatisfaction, to deep underground passageways lit by candles and torches, the walls dripping ooze, halls filled with danger. When at the end you face a deadly adversaries.

Suddenly, your mind twists and twirls with the grace and coils of mighty dragons of myth and legend.

Eventually, these images become less and less familiar as you feel yourself traveling further and further away from just your own mind.

Images of magical women, enormous ships, and explosions are seen. You can do nothing but sit back and watch as scenes change in the dark void.

Next, an alien scene of strange metallic warriors and muscular savages in ringed tunics toasting after a battle. Boasting of the enemies driven before them. Drinking their fill and enjoying the company of each other and the women. Not too much of a strange scene you suppose.

Your eyes suddenly open. That damned Naomi must have protected you. Somehow.

You're still in the void. You clasp the jade coin in your hand. It's heat still warms your hand, but it glows in a familiar magical light. One of the three words is dim.

The other two yet shine.

Peace
Sacred Secret

Do you cling to one

You hold the coin in your hand. The dim glow of the coin, like a candle in total darkness. You glance and seek something in the depths of it's unearthly glow.

Those two phrases again.

Again and again and again... The same question.

Which do you choose?

Huh, you never even thought of that...

None of it really matters anymore. You made your choice, and it feels really good to have it off your chest.

Like, oddly good. The exact magnitude of strange could be compared to waking up tied to the ceiling while the rest of the party lies unconscious below.

You experienced this once before when you were in this space beside dreams. You know.

It was a strange sort of shift in reality. You understand a few of the universe's quirks, the moments passing between one second and the next.
The liminal

You know your quests

>You have once again trespassed in a space where you are not meant to be. Because of that, you have power. You must come to terms with the nature of your own personal reality, and why then you will notice exactly why the patterns have formed

You: "Are you telling me that I am here again because of my patterns?"

>You arrived once again in the place besides dreams, but somehow managed to find yourself behind time. Your actions have power in ways you may not understand here. No matter the path you take, you always arrive here.

You: "Well, if I had the chance, I'd stop it! I have my quest! I must see it through to the end!"

>

You: "..."

>

You are left alone once more. Your decision had shunted you over to this place once more, and you have stepped on the right path to your quest once again.

You look forwards, and see a golden light. Like a pinprick of starlight. That must be your goal. Though the way to it is empty, you feel a power.

How do you shape your road? What good is your final reward if you don't have to work to get it? The trailblazer in you.

Or maybe smooth yet strong, like those stone roads from the future...

You notice the glow in your jade coin has been lost. You feel not whole.

Take a detour and recollect the energy in your coin. You'll need it to unlock the gate at the end.

You form images in your mind. The energy twists and turns, and like a gently growing light, the path is made clear to you. A winding road begins to stretch out before you. The further it becomes, you notice the shape of a mountain begin to coalesce in the void, meeting the pinprick of light in it's great distance before you.

Well, this looks like a bit of a walk. Better get to it.

916884

The path stretches for miles. You spend what feels like hours following the simple glowing road. Or was it days?

You hold the dim coin in your hand. Running your fingers along its carved surface. The jade feels cold, and lifeless, but you sense deep in you that you may yet require it's power. You have to try and charge it; but how?

No matter... The road stretches on for such a long time, you're still nowhere near the mountain. Maybe you need some time off. How about a detour?

You look at the path ahead of you in the distance. You notice power taking shape along one of the bends. Another road? Dimmer than the other, for sure, but it is there.

916886

You can't help but feel a strange oppressive power peer over you as you walk this main path. Like it wants you to never reach the top.

Perhaps it was a smart idea to take the detour.

You walk this dimmer path for a while, until you come across a strange field of energy in the void. A small clear pond of jade energy lays before you.

You take a moment to kneel and breathe. You hold the coin before you and close your eyes. When you open them again, the pond is gone, and your coin lets off a single glint. Something must have empowered it.

But now, the feeling falls over you again. You don't want to return back to the main road... Though, what is that huge building? It wasn't there before.

916888

Ahead of you, this enormous pathway seems to split into a myriad of chambers and passages. What is this? A maze?

Your Geta clack loudly along the floor as you wander about it's passages. You keep left, following it like you would a maze. It feels inefficient at first, but you dare not turn back.

The presence seems to grow violent. It wants to harm you, and for a split second you worry that it could.

The passages you take twist and turn and lead you in circles, but somehow you see a light at the end of a rough cavern. But, something follows you. You dare not look too hard, but each time you cast your glance backwards to where you expect it to be, you don't see it.

You emerge somewhere near the top of the mountain. You see the twisting path laid out below you. Your detour through the maze was fast, sure. But it attracted attention.

Something is following you.

>>
No. 917008 ID: 8b676a

You described that some of the ambiant energy of this otherplace was absorbed back into your coin. I don't think we know if looking through the coin actually reduces it's charge (Or if it even had ever lost any of it's charge before recent events) but I don't think you should risk it in case you need it.

Don't look through the coin. Draw and strike in front of you to be safe, then flee up the mountain path. I don't know what it is about this liminal place, but I have a feeling if you stray too far out of character or do something strange, it might affect your destiny.

You have to act fast, as is your style; being an Iaijutsu master after all. You feel the presence, but it has always eluded you before. You drop down and turn your sword, drawing and striking in the same motion.

You bolt up the path. The presence is opressive, feeling as though any moment now, teeth will bare down into you, but it is the anticipation that it is coming that is the worst. You flee. Geta clacking on nothingness.

You stand for a moment viewing the sight, and then notice you feel an odd vibration in your sword.

Upon further inspection, you've noticed it had taken on some of the power of this place. Much like your coin, but it seems to be slowly fading in wisps of energy back into the void.

The vibration is consistent but slowly ebbing away.

You see the twisting, winding road ahead of you... Though, why can't you just go straight?

As you walk forwards, the road begins to straighten itself out. Almost a pleasant walk.

>No, It's war

The presence is back again... You notice yourself picking up your feet a little faster. Quickly your walk turns into a full blown run. Lucky for you, the straighter road seems to keep you one step ahead of doom.

That's right. To return, we must go through some torii but not complete the journey, then something must act as a portal. Like that light there.

Now hold on. I don't think it was explicitly to return, per se. I thought it meant to just use the coin in general.

The portal kinda looks like a coin, maybe we need to get some words up there too?
