That's strange. How can an item have no history? Or is it the injection that's temporarily disabling Tronklis' ability? Just to be sure, I'd try reading one of our items that we know has a history. The passage beyond the sock hole has THREE doors in it and doesn't go any further. the closest one to us is just a stone archway that goes out to what looks like a cold night time scene, it seems familiar? The one past that looks like candle light is coming from it and has some doors we can just walk under if we wanted to, and the one way at the back looks like some kind of red metal door. Should we look in any of them or should we go try somewhere else first? I don't trust doors any more now, after all this mess.

I'm guessing "questions" refers to speaking to Ideations and asking them things.

Yes, there is something we need to ask: should we keep ahold of the objects affiliated with Mysterious Devices? The cog pendant and music box, specifically. Not sure the music box is as special as the pendant but it can't hurt to ask. Would it be better if we threw those things down the bottomless pit?
Also, we can try to get some information on where those doors lead. We have some information on the zones thanks to our darkness-lurking friend, so we can pick a benevolent or rewarding area to go to next instead of picking mostly blindly.

As for who to speak to... IIRC the only reasonable choices we have are Non Contiguous Connectiveness(the golden cutebold), and Things that Move In Darkness. Speaking to Mysterious Devices is a terrible idea since he's either lied or told half-truths to lead us astray.

I say talk to NCC again, and along with the other questions(though honestly we can ask any of the non-MD Ideations quesitons like these), tell her you know that you can't release her without releasing everything else, so you have to somehow deal with the abomination beforehand. Is it within your power to kill it? Can you do SOMETHING so that it's less of an absolutely awful idea to destroy the Labyrinth? And what about the other Ideations? Aren't the other ones a bit... hostile?

Oh right I just remembered we have to pick items to focus on while going to sleep to contact Ideations. I don't think we have any monster parts anymore that would work to contact TtMiD.
Hmm, maybe someone should focus on one of those items we got from the forge workers? That zone must've been associated with an Ideation due to its strong theme, and we know it's not MD.
Pretty sure Tronklis is the only one that can contact NCC without an item and I don't think we have anything associated with that Ideation... Maybe the weird coins?

Hmm, while Tronklis is drugged up and shielded from mental influence, maybe he can "read" more items? Maybe he could give us more options for contacting Ideations.

The dead adventurer had both the cogwheel necklace and the music box. If they only wanted to contact MD, then the cogwheel would've been enough. So maybe the music box is for something else. But if we get MD anyway, then hey, at least we can ask it what the music box is for.

Watch the watch. Point it in random directions. Shake it. Listen to it. Wound it up. See how well it balances on Slorsnis' butt...

Oh, we still have the teeth? I thought they were used up since they weren't in our inventory the last time we saw it. Anyway, I dunno if I'd want to use the teeth again. It was pretty scary the last time. It would probably be safe for Kloldril tho since he's already done it once.

...well nevermind, one of the "doors" here is just an open doorway so the rules must be less specific than that. I think the door by the arcade machine tried to transition the area when we tried to unlock it, but the key didn't work so it failed. Area transitions probably trigger via any successful interaction with a door, which might include throwing items through. We could test that now?

But yeah let's go in and say hello to the person. That's the first non-machine individual we've seen aside from the foundry workers! Maybe they can even talk?

This one’s pretty normal, as far as doors go. Not like a lot of ‘em in this place; only one way. Only door leadin’ somewhere else here is a big metal one at the end of one of the halls. I’d stay away from there, though, it’s a bad place. Real hot. Of course, you’d have to go through there unless you wanna set up a home here, some of these places ain’t too bad.”

“ Well there’s a couple places you could use to get out, and go to some kind of civilization or another. If you were willing an’ able to do it, that is. But once you’re tied here, things are gonna start going off the longer you’re away. Place is made to pull you back in, and keep you here. I can’t get to any of those places myself, though. The whole thing wouldn’t work if we could get out of it. You see, there’s a dangerous thing it’s meant to contain. I’d say its name, but you probably aren’t up to hearin’ it. It’ll hurt you to say it, that’s for sure.

:oubliss: I pull Slorsnis off the chair, I wanna ask questions! “So can we tell where we’re gonna go next? Can we go back to other places? “

“Well, some places lead back to others. There’s a big city, full of ash and frozen in time, connects to a couple other places here. I wouldn’t recommend you go wanderin’ around there though. It’s real easy to lose your way. There’s another place, kinda similar, but a hot wasteland full of nasty critters. Lots of dust and ash blowing around there. That might be one of the places you can get out, like the dam. You’d need to be prepared to travel for who knows how long without any supplies to be had, though. I seen a creature try it once. Don’t think that one got out.”

He takes a sip of some stinky drink.

:pnpoubliss: “You can’t get back there now, of course. You can only go forward from here. The only way to get OUT of here is to free Non Contiguous Connectiveness. She is integral to the working of the Labyrinth, and the only part that can theoretically be dislodged.”
“Much as I’d love to get out here too, doesn’t that also free the problem?”
:pnpoubliss: “You speak only in vagaries, I am the one who opened the doorway and brought these brave souls here! They’ll surely succeed, they’re chosen by fate!”
“I trust you about as far as I can throw you, and since we’re both extradimensional ideational concepts that ain’t too far at all.”
:oubliss: I don’t know what that is. “So there’s a safe way out of here? Where should we go?”
:pnpoubliss: “The way out from here is beyond the metal door. You’ll find yourselves on a ship, but I’m afraid you’ll have to figure it out from there. That section is interconnected with the rest in two places, so there’s definitely a way out.”
“I didn’t hear anything about it being safe.”
:pnpoubliss: “Well it is the safest way out of here.”
:slorsnis:”WHOZAT Other liar you was talkin’ ‘bout?”
“Well one of ‘em’s in this mirror here, and I’m sure Mysterious Devices has tried to catch you by now.”

:oubliss:”So can we break it? The thing that’s meant to be kept here?”
“If it’s possible to destroy it, I can’t rightly figure out how.”
:pnpoubliss:”The Worldbreaker? Yes. It can indeed be destroyed.”

Sounds like these two just don't like eachother, that's why they're throwing accusations. On the other hand, it's still quite possible PNP is a liar, and just picks its lies carefully.
Anyway, ask that they please call it the abomination from here on, and ask how to destroy it. Even a hint will suffice. Although... we could ask the Crown... probably should do that to verify the correct method, and possibly to help do it when the time comes. So we need to keep two wishes in reserve.

Hmm, is this true? Then why did MD say (>>/questarch/860764) that they also wish to escape this prison and wish to help us? I mean, if they wanted to escape, then attacking us doesn't make much sense. Who's the one that's lying? :o

Our friend was given some drugs, so they're not in their right mind at the moment. And neither is Slorsnis heh. Anyway, how can that thing be destroyed? Or do we need to ask The Old and The Forgotten to find out? Also, can the mirror show you anything you want? Can it show Oubliss rubbing her nose?

Give it time, I’m sure it’ll go away. As for the Old and the Forgotten, if anybody else knows, it won’t know. But if nobody else knows it, it’ll know. But it doesn’t give out knowledge that easy. Because if you know something then it won’t.

:pnpoubliss:”Because sometimes being completely honest with people is not what’s best for them. Since our Stranger just wanders around aimlessly and only interacts with people when it suits his fancy. I seek only to help travelers explore further than they could ever have dreamed!”

“That’s just one of my attributes. All of us are aspects of a kind of fear, you see. Every society gets advanced enough can end up with us around. Just a matter of having enough thinking folks get together, I guess. Things that Move in Darkness is the oldest, for instance. Represents real primitive people being afraid of animals come around to eat em or what have you. Don’t need much of a society to get that started, now do you? Strange thing is, that never seems to go away, even when people get to traveling the stars. Just a part of life, I suppose.”

“We’re gonna just do what suits our nature, I suppose. Wandering the multiverse.”
