Oh! It's you again. I see you're not dead yet! What a pleasant suprise. I see you have found another T room. If you ever run out of answers from me in another T room you can come to this one and I'll answer more."

>Message is as follows: "Bat's boon [rank 1] acquired; This item has the following recommended uses: Increase sharpness limit; +3 Aesthetic appeal".
Morgan: "Cool, maybe we can have sharp things now. Can I trade in these boon things to unlock more of your stuff?"

Menoetius: "Absolutely. Just wait one second."

The gems dissolve.

Sharpness limit increased. Moving parts unlocked.

A 7 foot wooden pole (sharpen the end for a half-decent weapon) unlocked. (EP) A Grappling pistol is now only locked due to [materials: metal]. (15 EP) A force pie that throws itself. And then reassembles is now only locked due to (materials: living tissue), (special: matter generation), (special: matter assembly), (special: intelligence), (submission error: violation of the laws of motion), and (submission error: flavor not indicated) (52 EP) A bracer for some bare-bones defense (a larger shield that retracts into a bracer) is now only locked due to (weight limit exceeded) and (materials: metal) (17 EP)

Hmm, we unlocked moving parts and sharpness, but can't use metal.
I want to add an item to the shop:
Wooden autocrossbow
and
Wooden bolts x10
If that turns out to be too expensive:
Wooden bow
and
Wooden arrows x10

Menoetius: "What fine weapon choices. I believe we can get those items."

Menoetius: "Wooden autocrossbow is completely unlocked and would cost 29 Enemy Points."
Menoetius: "Wooden bolts x10 is locked due to [materials slider: density] and would cost 10 Enemy Points."
Menoetius: "Wooden bow is unlocked but limited by and would cost 19 Enemy Points."
Menoetius: "Wooden arrows x10 completely unlocked and would cost 5 Enemy Points."
Menoetius: "The force of items with moving parts is at the current [force limit] and the sharpness of items with points is at the current [sharpness limit]."

Menoetius: "Since a self-powered item with moving parts is completely unlocked, crystal batteries are now available free of charge. Since this is a rank 1 room, a rank 1 crystal battery is the highest one we can supply you."

Menoetius: "Prometheus wants me to let you know that the wooden arrows should work in the wooden autocrossbow since he tries to keep his designs pretty standardized. As the local expert on violence, however, I can tell you that if you did that each arrow would probably be less effective than a wooden bolt in the autocrossbow and a little less effective than a wooden arrow fired from a bow."

Wooden autocrossbow added to the store. Wooden bolts x10 added to the store. Wooden bow added to the store. Wooden arrows x10 added to the store. Crystal battery [rank 1] available in current store. Your current balance is 39 Enemy Points.

>How do crystal batteries work?

Menoetius: "Self-powered items with moving parts like the autocrossbow require a power source. Crystal batteries are the default, however, through some effort, it is possible to add custom batteries to the store. The higher the rank of the crystal battery the longer it lasts and the larger the devices it can power. Because it's just a stupid battery I decided to give them away for free."

Menoetius: "As for how they work, you just pop them into any device that uses them and go crazy. If you are interested in the technical details go beat up a nerdy looking Busaskan Kinter until they tell you. It's what I would do."

>What's this about material density?

Menoetius pauses for a few seconds.

Menoetius: "Prometheus insists that bolts are supposed to be small and heavy. If I actually cared I would pull up the entry for "bolt" in the dictionary of Human words like he is asking me to do right now. Because of this fact, it's best to make it out of metal. Since it was specifically requested for it to be made out of wood, he decided to just use really dense wood."

Menoetius: "Again, it is possible to use arrows in the autocrossbow, but my advice to you guys if you want to use a bolt is to try to get the boon which allows you to customize material properties since the one for unlocking new materials is too easy."

Menoetius: "You are just about out of questions for this room. You would have more if this room were a higher rank or if you asked dumber questions."

>U-um if it's not to much trouble, would you mind teaching me how to play them some time? I wonder what my brother would say if I challenged him to an alien game
Sure, we'll hopefully have down time in-between the fighting and survival stuff, and I bet getting some basic game stuff from Menoetius would be relatively cheap. We're not in the room with you so you'd have to move stuff for us on our turn, but it should be doable.

>I see you have found another T room. If you ever run out of answers from me in another T room you can come to this one and I'll answer more.
>Menoetius: "You are just about out of questions for this room. You would have more if this room were a higher rank or if you asked dumber questions."
Well I guess that confirms you're encountering identical rooms, not the same room over and over due to space shenanigans.

I'm thinking we might want to want on the bow till we've unlocked a little more stuff. The opposition so far has been really weak, and we can afford to save points for a little longer while trying to unlock density.

Do we have enough left to ask about Prometheus? From context, he's the item designer?

Morgan: "Thank you."

>Do we have enough left to ask about Prometheus? From context, he's the item designer?

Menoetius: "Oh, him? He was one of the earlier titans. He designs all the items. Originally he ran the shop here as well, but that didn't work out very well. An item designer must be able to empathize with the players to understand the items they want and must be smart enough to design them. Unfortunately, he was also smart enough to figure out other ways to help them out, like lowering the prices of the shop's items, or that one time when he tried to coordinate an effort to shut the game down for good. Ha ha!"

Menoetius: "That was about the time I was made. At that point, the designers decided it was best if he couldn't interface directly with the players, so out with the item titan and in with the loot titan! Luckily I don't care about any of the same stuff as him, I just want to see violence! glory! death! That's what I live for!"

Menoetius: "Speaking of death, here's some free advice: if you ever see a red door, go through it. The red doors always have the best loot."

Morgan: "What do the white squares on the compass mean?"

Menoetius: "Er, you still have questions here, I just can't answer that one. I'm not allowed to release any information whatsoever about that compass. Since it's something that tells you where you are in the maze, it's more my brother Atlas's job, so I'll let him decide if he wants to tell you anything. Exploration is stupid though. If I was in charge of making this game it would be non stop bloodshed. Now that's fun! Atlas hangs out in J rooms in case you want to avoid him."

How much of it dissolved? A third? Half? You can probably estimate how many more hits it can take from that.

Smack it again when you can, take care as it may try to attack you. We're not sure how much that thing can hurt, and even if it doesn't kill you in one hit, if it knocks you into one of those holes you're in trouble.

I'm trying to decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing if she recognizes you as having players. Does that make you someone to cooperate with, or a competitor? If this is a game, there's a lot of rules we don't know.

Root 3. It's already as reduced as you can get it without introducing inaccuracies and rounding errors.

Fine if you want an irrational number: 1.7320508075688772935274463415059...
