A Feast of Souls

[NSFW]

“Justice? They are nothing but beasts, deserving nothing but complete extermination. They cannot fathom something complex like justice, nor do they deserve any kind of mercy. The only thing they deserve is the complete extinction I’ve already given them for daring to even exist, and you will not stop it.”

I like the idea of warning them. You can't look up for them all the time while you do your thing.
I also think you can actually spend some time with them in the spa. You can talk about what happened today with the vampire insident to warn them, spend time with Danus AND try to make up with Karn and apologise.
Although i think dragging Karn with us is both useful and is a good way to show him that he still has to redeem his bad ways. He hasn't improved on that regard, and he knows what that means. Last time he was wishing someone's death. He can't keep doing that. He want's to Live? Be a good boy and help you put some Justice in this town. If not, is eating time.

Ask Karn about Justina’s condition. Is she recovering well?

>sauna
Politely decline Danus’ invitation because you want to not upset Karn anymore than you already have.

.....hey, I just thought of a way you can make it up to him. Remember how he said he’s always wanting to see different fighting styles? Well, since you’ve got multiple lifetimes of fighting styles, you can probably show him a few he hasn’t seen before. He’d probably like that!

Then take them both somewhere private and tell them about why you look so ragged, since it just happened a few moments before you came here. Don’t explain it to them in a room full of people, since you might cause people to panic.

And let them know about the 2 vampire hunters, Athena Mediean and Sir Kern of Risavia, that were chasing the vampire you killed. They told you to let them handle it before they went running off into the night.

If Karn quietly asks why you didn’t go help them, tell him that you helping the people that hunt undead is risky because if you end up accidentally revealing yourself to them, they would turn on you and attack you.

Ask Karn about Justina.

Then warn them about what happened a few moments ago.

Ask the swords about what Athena and Kern said about ingesting vampire blood. Do you have to worry about that or are you immune to the vampire blood, since you're an Elder Wraith? Or whatever it is that Oran's book said you were.

>>932240
>Fighting styles
I guess that could work? I don't know.

>Ask the swords about what Athena and Kern said about ingesting vampire blood. Do you have to worry about that or are you immune to the vampire blood, since you're an Elder Wraith?
:SwordFoS: Death is a necessary catalyst for creating a vampiric being. You are already dead, thus you cannot rise again. They are prey to be hunted and nothing more.

>Actually, you could cut costs and increase defense by padding your insides with Kevlar.
You’re not sure what this Kevlar thing is, but padding your inside with armor does sound neat. The question is just… how?
>For funsies you could also add artificial muscles.
You’re pretty sure that kind of technology doesn’t exist?
>Cameras to your stomach for research on digestion.
What is a camera? But yes, you do need to research into it a bit more… and Oran was willing to help, wasn’t he? All you’re missing is a meal…

>If you go in the spa you'll probably fall asleep and miss your appointment.
Spa? It’s just a sauna. It’s not something you fall asleep in… at least, not if you want to wake up again. Besides, you will have two naked hunks on each side of you, so you’ll have plenty of reason to stay focused, eh?
>Although i think dragging Karn with us is both useful and is a good way to show him that he still has to redeem his bad ways. He hasn't improved on that regard, and he knows what that means.
If he doesn’t repent, he is food, it’s as simple as that. Though, you really need to find out what his sin actually is, as he seemed genuinely shocked that those bottles he sold with Oran was harmful yet his soul didn’t get any purer.
>And what's that on Danus's shirt?
Food? You think? He works at an inn and clearly hasn’t had the time to change clothes yet after all.

>Tell Danus that Karn is probably a bit mad at you right now so as an apology to him you'll let him relax alone.
Ugh, fine…
:DanusFoS: Mad at you, lass?
:KarnFoS: She dragged me off into a life threatening fight with… bandits.
:EmaFoS: Err… yeah, bandits…
:DanusFoS: What? More bandits? Y-you’re not hurt, lass, are you?
:KarnFoS: She’s fine… but Justina didn’t make it out okay.
:DanusFoS: Yes, I’ve heard she was hurt but… it’s not too bad is it? Why were you fighting bandits again?
:EmaFoS: They wanted to rob and burn down the house of a sweet old lady and I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing?
:DanusFoS: Well, lass, you’re a real hero, you know that?
The old lizard beams at you while blushing a little bit.
:DanusFoS: You’ll need to tell me all about it later, lad, when we’re relaxing.
:KarnFoS: If you insist…
>Ask Karn about Justina’s condition. Is she recovering well?
:KarnFoS: I don’t know the exact details, but she isn’t in any danger. Though, doc said she might have trouble playing her lute in the future.
:DanusFoS: Oh no, that’s terrible, lad. What exactly happened?
:KarnFoS: It’s involves fire… well, heat magic and a deranged… bandit, if I understood what she told me correctly. I’ll tell you the details later.
>Ask Karn where you can get a good breastplate.
:KarnFoS: Breastplate? I mean… I usually get my stuff down at Mot’s, down on the lower riverside. It’s far from the best, but it’s affordable… and not filled with pompous pricks.
>I just thought of a way you can make it up to him. Remember how he said he’s always wanting to see different fighting styles?
:KarnFoS: If you actually know any fighting styles, I’m happy to see them in action.
:DanusFoS: Why, lass, that sounds interesting. You wouldn’t mind if I came and watched it as well?
:KarnFoS: Don’t gets your hopes up, old man. Last time we fought she was barely able to wield a sword.
:EmaFoS: I was just pretending to be bad, Karn.
:KarnFoS: Of course you were…

>Take them both somewhere private and tell them about why you look so ragged, since it just happened a few moments before you came here.
Danus leads you to the backroom so you can talk in private, while practically dragging Karn with him who’s less than happy to follow. You then proceed to tell them what happened just before you got here.
:KarnFoS: *Sigh* have you been talking to Oran again?
:DanusFoS: V-vampires!? T-there’s actually v-vampires here!?
:KarnFoS: No, there aren’t. There aren’t any vampires here… or anywhere else for that matter. It’s just Oran that-
:EmaFoS: I was jumped by one just a little while ago and I slew it. If you don’t believe me you can ask the vampire hunters that was there with me.
:KarnFoS: Really? And these vampire hunters… do they have names by any chance?
:EmaFoS: Kern and Athena Mediean, a Varkian male and that… Sakkilian lady with the feathers.
:KarnFoS: Kern? Did you just make up a name by using my own and just changing one-
:DanusFoS: Oh, them! Y-yes, I know them! They got a room right here at the inn!
:KarnFoS: Wait, what? They actually exist!?
:DanusFoS: Y-yes, they… they said they were monster hunters but… I d-didn’t think there was anything dangerous inside the city walls! I… I must tell Drago to stay inside after sundown… j-just in case…
:KarnFoS: But… Oran can’t be right about that… can he?

>Can we make thicc lizard and him go on a date?
While it pains you to do so, but maybe a blind date kind of thing might work? You know… you tell Alisa as Elric that a friend of yours (that is to say, you, Ema) needs a second date for a male friend? So… you go out with… let’s say Oran… or Karn… or someone… and Danus can go out with Alisa at the same time, making it a double date? Hmm…

:EmaFoS: Danus, what are you doing tomorrow?
:DanusFoS: Hmm? Oh, why, I’m going out to the festival, lass… well, at least until sunset, that is…
:EmaFoS: Really…

So… double date at the Festival tomorrow then? Or is this a terrible idea? Maybe if… wait, Danus is trying to get your attention… and he looks rather… shaken?

:DanusFoS: Um… excuse m-me for asking, lass… Ema… um… y-you wouldn’t mind… staying the night, would you? I m-mean… I don’t want you going o-out there into the dark again alone if there are… v-vampires out there… would I?

Tell Danus there's nothing to worry about. You just killed one, remember? You're a skilled swordswoman and you know how to kill Vampires. Puncture their core and they pop.
Also you have a promise to keep tonight.

>double date
Could work. Do remember you said you'd take Oran to the festival.

The vampire was very easy to kill. Hunting vampires at night would be fun.
We can stay if he that would make him less uneasy though.

Well, we can't really stay here, we still have important business to atend. Besides, you are a capable fighter and there the two vampire hunters are working outside as well. And when they are done, they will be coming here and you will me be much safer. Tell him that he is a sweetheart and thanks for worring. Give him a little peck in the snute.

Besides, i am kinda worried about the white thicc lady being alone, so we can keep every safe.

You should tell Karn to stay here too. It's better for him to not risk himself going home tonight.

Uh oh, i just realized something. If Ema reverts to her true, undead form, she’s gonna grow bigger, which means she’s gonna end up destroying whatever clothes she’s wearing, just like she did that one time in Vivian’s dojo: >>/questarch/872793 ! And that would also include destroying any kind of breastplate Ema buys to protect her core!

The obvious solution is for her to not change into her true form, but there might be a time when she needs to turn into her true form. So should we get a breastplate anyways and hope we don’t destroy it or what?

>But…Oran can’t be right about that…can he?
“No, Karn, Oran wasn’t right about everyone he’s claimed to be a vampire. He’s just lucky that he didn’t actually find someone that is a vampire. Because if he did, he would be one of the many people that have disappeared over the past 10 years.”

Don’t forget to mention what Kern and Athena said, “The nobility in this town is clearly corrupted by them.” You don’t know if that means the nobility are helping the vampires or if the nobility are vampires or both.

>double date
Sure, that could work. Make sure you take Oran as your date, since you promised to take him. And last time doesn’t count, since you both left early because of your “condition” acting up!

>Please stay here?
Tell Danus that he’s sweet for worrying about you. But unfortunately, you can’t stay tonight, you’ve got somewhere you need to be. You’ll be careful out there.

>>932576
>Puncture their core and they pop.
It might be easier for them to understand if Ema points at her own body and says, “I stabbed it in the middle of its chest, right around here, and it exploded into a bunch of blood.”
>>
No. 932588 ID: c7f906

> Last time we fought she was barely able to wield a sword.
I think Oran remembers it differently, short-stuff. Hey remember that time you failed to stab me through the chest?

Danus is obviously concerned for his own safety as much as yours.

Tell him not to worry, you've already popped the one like a balloon and have a description on the potential second one- a hiver in a delivery uniform- so he won't get a jump on you either. If Danus is worried about Karn, you'll leave one of your swords here with him, he'll stay the night here to hold down the fort and also maybe work through his latent bisexuality. You'll be back in the morning, don't you worry.

>I think Oran remembers it differently, short-stuff. Hey remember that time you failed to stab me through the chest?
We can mention Oran, since he saw Ema and Karn spar with each other. But don’t mention the chest stabbing part.

>you'll leave one of your swords here with him
No, we’re going to keep both of our swords with us. If either Karn or Danus starts touching the blade to clean it, then Ema will start acting weird, like she did here: >>/questarch/876209 , and that would just freak out Alisa and make her think something is wrong with Elric.

And if that happens, it might mess with Ema’s concentration and prevent her from staying transformed as Elric, which would really make Alisa freak out if Ema transforms in front of her.
>>
No. 932592 ID: c7f906

> But don’t mention the chest stabbing part.
Ema blurts out incriminating shit all the time, it'll be fine.
>No, we’re going to keep both of our swords with us.
Leave it with them on the condition they not mess with it at all, it's an heirloom. Probably why it pops vampires so well.
>>

Hug daddy lizard before heading out.

As for dates, hmm.
Sure, why not. As Elric, ask if thicc lizard'd like your friend Ema to introduce her to hot lizard daddy tomorrow morning. Give her directions to the inn tomorrow morning if she's interested, saying you've got places to be. Sneak over there as Ema to meet her.

Dania is sweet for worrying about you, but he doesn't have to. You'll be fine when you go back out, since you need to be somewhere.

>>932587
>True form destroying clothes and breastplate
That's actually a problem with any form Ema takes when it's a different size than herself.

The solution would be to enchant the breastplate to change size with Ema, so that it'll stay on her, so that no matter how big or small her size changes, the breastplate will always fit her.

We can tell the enchanter that it'll be so Ema doesn't have to change her breastplate every few years as she gets older.

Only problem now is being able to afford something like that.

>>932588
>Leave sword
No.

After how much we freaked out last time we forgot them, let's not do that again.

Also, we can't tell where our swords are, only where we last left them. If they get stolen when we leave them somewhere, we'd never be able to find them. So let's keep our swords with us.

>Leave one of your swords he-
No.
>The vampire was very easy to kill. Hunting vampires at night would be fun.
The vampire you met was already gravely wounded and practically ran into your sword on accident. You’re sure they’ll be more dangerous if you actually face them face to face properly.
>Uh oh, i just realized something. If Ema reverts to her true, undead form, she’s gonna grow bigger, which means she’s gonna end up destroying whatever clothes she’s wearing, including destroying any kind of breastplate Ema buys to protect her core!
The only time so far you’ve actually needed to turn into that beast was when you were in actual danger. If you’re in so much danger that you’ll need that form again losing your breastplate will be the least of your problems.
>Oh speaking of Elric not transforming, aren't we planning on sleeping with Alisa? Can Ema hold a transformation overnight?
You have no idea! You haven’t tried it, after all! Though, even if you reverted you would just be able to wake up before she does and just change back to Elric, right?

>Tell Danus there's nothing to worry about. You just killed one, remember? You're a skilled swordswoman and you know how to kill Vampires.
:DanusFoS: Just b-be careful, Ema. I’d hate to see a lass like you get hurt…
:KarnFoS: Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
:EmaFoS: Shush you.
>There the two vampire hunters are working outside as well.
:DanusFoS: You are correct about that lass, but still… I only got their word that they are competent?
>And when they are done, they will be coming here and you will be much safer.
:DanusFoS: By the goddesses, I do hope so…
:KarnFoS: Your Inn have been safe since it was built and that won’t change anytime soon, Danus. I don’t think these supposed vampires just sprung up overnight, do you?
:DanusFoS: I… no, y-you’re right, lad…
>but I've got somewhere to be, Danus. Trust me - if I didn't, I'd love to stay with you~
:DanusFoS: And I’d love to have you for company this fine evening, Ema.
:KarnFoS: Ugh…

>Hug daddy lizard before heading out.
You embrace Danus completely and he eagerly returns the affection.
>Give him a little peck in the snute.
As you break off your caress you make sure to sneak in a small kiss on the top of his snout, which is rewarded by a small chuckle. Karn on his part simply rolls his eyes at the two of you.

>You should tell Karn to stay here too. It's better for him to not risk himself going home tonight.
:KarnFoS: I’ll be fine heading home, don’t you worry.
:EmaFoS: A lone, defenseless male wandering out in the darkness? Isn’t that how a lot of horror stories starts, hmm?
:KarnFoS: They are usually men that can’t fight. Besides, there aren’t any free beds left here and I’m not spending the night on a wooden sofa. Also, who said anything about defenseless, eh?
>No, Karn, Oran wasn’t right about everyone he’s claimed to be a vampire. He’s just lucky that he didn’t actually find someone that is a vampire.
:KarnFoS: Lucky or not, he’s not stupid enough to actually trying to expose… actually, he is, so yes, he was lucky.
>Don’t forget to mention what Kern and Athena said, “The nobility in this town is clearly corrupted by them.”
:DanusFoS: The nobles? Are you sure? You mean those that lead us are… not what they seem?
:KarnFoS: Right… like most stories, they just have to be nobility and the high class… sexier that way…

>Sure, why not. As Elric, ask if thicc lizard'd like your friend Ema to introduce her to hot lizard daddy tomorrow morning.
You’ll ask her as soon as you get back to her. Though, you’ll need to make some kind of excuse why you can’t go yourself… hmm…
>Make sure you take Oran as your date, since you promised to take him. And last time doesn’t count, since you both left early because of your “condition” acting up!
That’s right, Oran deserve a proper date… and you still haven’t feed off him either so…
>Though, come to think of it, she might be more into Karn, considering he's more dominant than the average Sakkalian male, and she's correspondingly submissive.
That’s right… she did seem to really like Elric, who is way more feminine than most men… and probably Danus as well. So… Karn might be more her kind of guy… and Karn does like being the dominant one, you think?
>Ask her whether she'd like hot feminine lizard boy or hot lizard daddy.
You know, there is one part of this plan you might have overlooked. You’ll need both the hot muscular lizard boy and the hot lizard daddy to agree to go on a date… and… well, it’s kind of awkward if you asked them both to come to just leave one dateless? So, not only do you probably need to ask them now if they are willing to go… you also need to figure out whom Alisa would rather go out with. Hmm…

>Make sure you change your clothes when you switch forms so she doesn't become suspicious.
…you only have one pair of clothes and a body covering cloak. Might want to visit the clothes shop tomorrow again. Wait, you know who probably have a tons of clothes for the taking? That whore you ate! If you can just figure out where he lives… hmm… Karn might now, seeing that he was selling stuff to him but… is this the right time to ask?
>>
No. 932621 ID: b1b4f3

Elric can just say he can't go to the festival, he has business to attend to during it. Then just don't transform into him during the festival. You can always use that bird bandit as a disguise if needed.

Also hmm we do need to actually set up the blind date huh? How about you ask both of them right now if they've got a date for the festival. If not, tell them you can set them up with someone. She's an albino, and a bit overweight, and she'd probably be interested in either of them, but you do need to know if they'd be interested in her.
If they're both into it, they can just flip a coin for it.

Regardless, ask to talk to Karn in private for a moment. You can bring up the prostitute and ask where his house is. I thought you already had some decent clothes though?
>>
No. 932623 ID: eeb7d9

>Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
I saw what you did there!

>is this the right time to ask?
I don't think so. We can talk to him later about that.

If Karn won't stay in the inn, maybe you can go with him to his house first, just to be sure. Unless is not in the way of your destination. Otherwise, we will have to pray he arrives ok.

Well, that was all, time to go!

>Right…like most stories, they just have to be nobility and the high class…sexier that way…
Actually, no. It’s because the nobility and the high class have more power and influence, which makes it easy for the vampires to get what they want. “Sexiness” has nothing to do with it because this is reality and not some weird romance story.

Karn, have you been reading Oran’s weird romance novels? That’s the kind of thing I expected him to say. Never thought you’d say something like that.

>Karn does like being the dominant one, you think?
In case you forgot, Danus was also pretty dominant that time you had sex with him.

>suggestions saying to escort Karn
You guys do realize that means that we’ll have to wait for him and Danus to get out of the sauna, right? Because they were both on their way over there before we started talking to them and it would be kinda rude to make Karn leave with us instead of letting him relax in the sauna, like he wanted to.

Karn said he could take care of himself and he said that he’s not defenseless, so let’s just trust him and leave him to relax, like he wanted to.

>>932621
>She's an albino, and a bit overweight, and she'd probably be interested in either of them, but you do need to know if they'd be interested in her.
Don’t forget to mention that she’s also a bit older than Ema. And that she works in the library. Both of those details might make a difference in who wants to go.

>I thought you already had some decent clothes though?
I think it’s mostly so that Alisa doesn’t look at Ema and wonder why she is wearing the exact same clothes that Elric was wearing.

>Actually, no. It’s because the nobility and the high class have more power and influence, which makes it easy for the vampires to get what they want. “Sexiness” has nothing to do.
You’re pretty sure he was being sarcastic. Of course it’s because they are more powerful yet probably easier to turn.
>Elric can just say he can't go to the festival, he has business to attend to during it. Then just don't transform into him during the festival.
But if she ask for details? Hmm…
>I thought you already had some decent clothes though?
But only one pair. It’s not hard to see that both Elric and Ema are wearing the same clothes, is it?

>Karn won't stay in the inn, maybe you can go with him to his house first, just to be sure.
That would mean waiting for him to finish his trip into the sauna and while you’d love nothing more than hang out with two naked hunks like that, you’ve already decided to spend your time on other things.
>Karn hates being treated as a fragile man, so he's gonna just refuse the offer. And he's already told us that he's not defenseless, so let's just leave him alone and let him walk himself home.

That’s because you were inexperienced. You’re pretty sure he simply followed your lead to make sure you enjoyed it to the fullest, which meant at the time being the dominant one as you had no idea what you were doing exactly.

>How about you ask both of them right now if they've got a date for the festival.
:KarnFoS: No, I do not.
:DanusFoS: A date? Why, lass, I was kind of hoping I would be able to spend some time with you?
:EmaFoS: Oh… that’s… Err… while I’d love to spend some time with you, Danus, I’ve already promised to take Oran on a date so… s-sorry…

Danus is visibly sadden by this revelation, though he tries his best to put on a brave face…

:DanusFoS: D-don’t ask for forgiveness, lass, I… I was just… Oran, you say? The Alchemist? Not the lad I expected, but he do have a fine job, lass.
:KarnFoS: So if you already have a date, why are you asking us this?
:EmaFoS: Well, see… I got this friend who’s lady friend in need of a date tomorrow so…
:KarnFoS: Are you going on a double date with Oran?
:EmaFoS: Kind of, yes, so… if one of you boys would be interesting to spend the day with a lovely lady tomorrow…? She’s a bit on the big side, about Danus age, works as a librarian and has these beautiful white scales. Sounds interesting?
:DanusFoS: White scales? You mean the rather rotund albino lass?
:KarnFoS: Really, Ema? Are you trying to pair one of us with that overweight slob?
:EmaFoS: Hey, she’s not that bad… trust me, she’s very sweet when you get to know her.
:DanusFoS: Ema, I’m sure she has an interesting personality, but… see, her body type is simply not my… well, type… I’m into stronger, leaner lasses, lass.
:KarnFoS: Ugh… fine, I’ll go on this stupid double date of yours, just for Oran sake alright?
:EmaFoS: Well, not the answer I was hoping for, but I’ll take it?

>Regardless, ask to talk to Karn in private for a moment. You can bring up the prostitute and ask where his house is.
:DanusFoS: I’ll leave the two of you alone if you so wish. Ema, lass, I’ll be at the festival tomorrow if you still want to spend some time together. I’ll be seeing you.
:KarnFoS: So, what is it now?
:EmaFoS: Well, you see… you don’t happen to know where a certain man of the night, a Tertian, lives do you?
:KarnFoS: …you mean Terroza’s brother? Ema, what did you do?
:EmaFoS: Oh, nothing…
:KarnFoS: Then what are you planning on doing!?
:EmaFoS: Well, I need some new clothes… and clues about evildoers…
:KarnFoS: Don’t tell me you… him!?
:EmaFoS: He was evil… and was on to me so… yes?
:KarnFoS: …I really hope he was actually in on the whole thing for your sake… but he lives down by the river, next to the textile shop on Strawberry road. Or lived…
:EmaFoS: Thanks a ton, Karn.
:KarnFoS: Hmpf…
>Give Karn that bit of vampire probiscus, it'll shut his disbelieving mouth up and he'll be able to take it to Oran.
:KarnFoS: The fuck is that!?
:EmaFoS: I grabbed it from the vampire. You think you can give it to Oran for-
:KarnFoS: What? No! Keep that thing and give it yourself. I’m not touching it. But fine, vampire might exist, happy now?
:EmaFoS: A little bit, yeah.

An awkward silence follows as you put the vampire tongue thing back into your pocket. Karn fidgets a bit in the silence before speaking up.

:KarnFoS: So… tell me more about this librarian you’ve forced me on a date on?
:EmaFoS: Well… her name is Alisa, she’s a shy, sweet lady who loves reading.
:KarnFoS: …not really selling me here…
:EmaFoS: She loves stronger, more dominant males.
:KarnFoS: …really?
:EmaFoS: And she loves being dominated in bed as well.
:KarnFoS: …wait, how do y- did you… when did you- how?
:EmaFoS: Just an hour ago, in a male form. *Wink*
:KarnFoS: More information that I actually needed but… so, what, she like men that’s… like me?
:EmaFoS: She’s shy and submissive. Of course she’ll love someone like you.
:KarnFoS: Hmm… really? That does sound… Hmpf… This doesn’t make me any happier about you forcing this on me, just so you know.
:EmaFoS: Of course not.

So… the choice is clear then. Alisa will take Karn to the festival. Now, what’s next? Do you head over to Tertian place and raid it for clothes and other stuff or do you head straight back to “Thicc lady”. Oh, and is there anything else you need to talk to Karn or Danus about?

You ought to be happy, Ema! You can keep your sugar-daddy for a little more!

I'm thinking that taking the clothes from the whore might take too much time now, we could probably do that in the morning, before the date, with time to look for something nice.

Ask Karn when would he like to spar again so you can show him some "new" techniques. You should meditate before that though, that is the only way for you to remember your past lives and you haven't been doing that as of late.
Also tell Danus, since he seem to be interested to watch the sparring... or watch you~ You will get to show off in front of him!

"Hey, Karn, you know how you hate it when people assume you're into men when the women fail to seduce you? Well, the same thing applies to Alisa, don't assume she's a slob just because she's a little on the big side. So be nice to her."

>…I really hope he was actually in on the whole thing for your sake…
We passed him on our way to that old lady and then his sister came looking for that same old lady a few moments later to try and kill her. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say he was in on it.

>But fine, vampire might exist, happy now?
Whisper to him, "So you can accept something like me existing, but vampires are a maybe?"

>Back to Alisa or clothes "shopping" at prostitute's house?

Then he can say he has to go gather information on the recent Vampire sightings. Heh, you could even imply the reason he left her was to go meet Ema.

Also tell Karn you weren't forcing it on him in the first place. You hadn't brought it up with her or anything, so if he said no it would've been fine.
You could try asking Karn if he's got any idea what his sin is? Maybe it's that he beats up Oran when they get into disagreements? Does he lie, cheat, or steal? Is he mean to animals? Has he beaten up anyone he suspected of vandalizing his place, but without proof?

Tell him to be nice or you’ll bop him on then nose! Name calling is very rude!

Not entirely sure we should mention the vampires to Alisa, she’s more likely to panic.

Although, implying Elric had to meet with Ema for some business would be good to explain where Elric went tonight. Now we just have to figure out what kind of business they met for.

Head to the “Thicc lady”.

Now that I think about it, Tertian’s place isn’t going to have any clothes for Ema to wear, since he’ll have men’s clothes. Which means we’ll only be getting new clothes for Elric and our other male forms.

However, if we find any money in Tertian’s place, since he won’t be needing it anymore, we’ll take that and use it to buy Ema some female clothes for herself.

:KarnFoS: I hit him on the shoulder when he gets really annoying, but not hard enough to bruise or anything. It’s more playful than anything.
:EmaFoS: So… do you lie? Cheat? Steal? Mean to animals?
:KarnFoS: Eh… no more than anyone else, almost never, never and why would I even think about being mean to some animal. Where are you even going with this, Ema?
:EmaFoS: Have you ever beaten up anyone you suspected of wronging you, even without proof?
:KarnFoS: Suspect? I know they wronged me… and I need to defend myself. So what if I’ve been in a few fights? It’s not like they care enough to go to the guard about it.
:EmaFoS: …because they don’t want to admit they got beaten up by a man… and the guard would probably not believe them even if they admitted to it.
:KarnFoS: That’s the beauty of it, isn’t it? Either way, I’ve never done anything permanent… at least not to anyone not deserving it.
:EmaFoS: …yeah, I’m starting to see a pattern here… I’m just going to tell you straight up. Start becoming a better person and repent, or I might just get hungry.
:KarnFoS: Wait, why are you on about me on this? You’re doing the very same thing, just worse.
:EmaFoS: You know what, I don’t have time for a discussion about morality right now. I got a friend waiting for me. We can discuss this later with Oran. But for now, let’s just enjoy our date tomorrow, hmm?
:KarnFoS: Going from threatening me with death to wishing me to enjoy a double date with you... this conversation has been really taking an odd turn, hasn’t it?

>Before you leave, tell Danus that his job is just as important. He provides food, drinks, and warm beds for many tried travelers.
You find Danus preparing a pair of cold ales and a few snacks for his and Karn’s relaxation.
:DanusFoS: Huh? Where did all that come from, lass?

You quickly make your way back to the Librarians apartment without any further incidents. After making sure no one is around to see you transform into Elric again, you knock on the door and are quickly asked to enter by a voice inside.

Ugh.
Tell her no, you found it lying in an alley. Near a blood splatter. You didn't want to ruin the mood by talking about such dark matters. Yes, you realize that Tertian wasn't attacked by a mugger since the amulet would have been taken. You're guessing he got killed by a Vampire, since you've just been informed there's a nest in town, and some of the nobility are infected. So uh, she shouldn't go out at night, or into dark alleys like the one you found the necklace in.
If she asks you if you told the guards, you can say no, because you didn't want them to question you and take the necklace. Maybe it's a little selfish but someone else will notice he's missing and report it.

If the mood recovers you can tell her about the blind date.
>>

Wow, this sounds remarkably effective. It would be more effective if we knew if the guard kept track of such reports. If they do not then this isn't something she could disprove and is believable, making it a good lie, assuming she never finds out the truth about us. Problem there is the more we interact her the more if turns into when.
>>
No. 933140 ID: eeb7d9

>>933132
Well, this is as good as it gets. The idea of using the vampire incidents might be wise, given that it's not technically a lie. It might make Elric look bad for taking something that doesn't belong to him and it came from a dead person, but it's better than nothing.
>>
No. 933141 ID: c7f906

>>933132
Maybe not imply you saw where he was attacked, but say you picked it up at a sketchier pawn shop or a flasher salesman? Maybe got it from some street urchin? I just don't want to upset her too much by making it sound like we ignored an attack or make her think we're some kind of looter. Good news is we even have a vampire proboscis to back up that undead theory. If she asks, say no, you don't think it came from the vampire that attacked him, but it seems they're about. Also if she implies it, no you weren't hiding this from her, you never read the back and are kind of feeling a little stupid now for not putting two and two together. Anyway that's a good story even if you don't alter it.
>>
No. 933151 ID: b1b4f3

Elric probably shouldn't show off the proboscis. I kindof wish we'd delivered it to Oran already.
I'm not sure it'd be effective to say we got it from a pawn shop, considering how we denied it was Tertian's and it's got his name on it.

Also keep in mind two things:
1, we need an excuse to have avoided admitting it was Tertian's. If Elric had bought it, wouldn't he have looked at the back of it and noticed the engraving? I just noticed something important: This is the first time Alisa has mentioned Tertian by name. Elric *could* claim to have bought it from a shady dealer of some sort and saw the engraving and assumed it was someone who pawned it off, but didn't put two and two together when she asked about the prostitute.
2, we need an excuse to keep it, because otherwise she'll try to return it. Best excuse is that Tertian is already dead. Second best would be to say we bought it directly from him, but that contradicts issue 1. Pawn shop sortof works here since it's a legitimate transaction.

No. 933152 ID: a9af05

>d-did… did you steal t-this…?
"Alisa, how could you even suggest I'd do such a thing? I'm truly hurt that you'd think I'd do that!"

Then explain that you didn't steal it because 1) if you did steal it, you wouldn't have let her hold onto it when she asked to hold onto it and 2) since you let her hold onto it, if you did steal it, you would've run and not come back.

If she asks why you lied to her when you said it was yours earlier, tell her that you didn't think she'd believe you if you told her the truth.

If she asks what the truth is, tell her that you found it on the ground in an alley and you've actually been looking for Tertain all day to return it to him. Although, you'll admit that you might've gotten a little sidetracked when you met a certain lady with beautiful white scales. *wink*

And that's why you left earlier, you figured you had enough time before curfew to ask if anyone has seen him. But everyone you asked said that they hadn't seen him. So you'll have to try again tomorrow and hope you find him.

If she offers to come with you to help, that's when you tell her about the blind date and how she'll be too busy doing that to be able to help you.

Eating her would be fine. It’s the absorbing her part that will kill you. Of course, you still don’t want to eat her because of the risk. After all, you have no idea how to get her out… or even if you can get her out! Besides, she doesn’t smell like she’ll taste any good, so you might not even get her down in the first place… and you really don’t have any reason to eat her anyway…
>We could say we bought it from him after we had Gay Sex.
Eh… you have no idea if that will turn her on or turn her off so… maybe after you’ve gotten a better feel of her?

:ElricFoS: Well… yeah… though someone had thrown it away or dropped it, so I just picked it up. Had no idea who it belonged to.
:AlisaFoS: And y-you didn’t t-take a minute and noticed the carvings on the back of it?
:ElricFoS: To be completely honest, no, I didn’t. I found it right before I met you and… well…

:AlisaFoS: Eh!? But… err… just… just don’t… not now…
:ElricFoS: Hey, why can’t I tell you you’re pretty?
:AlisaFoS: Just… just forget it.

Tell her if she wants the truth she has to give it back to you first.
Then tell her some of the truth. First, Tertian's sister wanted to kill you just because she didn't like how you act, and he told her where to find you. You fought her off, then went looking for him, and that's how you got his necklace. He was a bad man, and got the justice he deserved.

If she's still upset after that just leave.

Well shit, it turned out she was inquisitive and smart about the whole thing. And Ema is not particularly good at lying. So what we sould do, if we still want to try to deceive is tell half lies and half truths. Or just admit that you are in this city because of some grim business you have to deal, and this guy was a part of it which is true.

Anything we say to her won't make her trust us if she doesn't want to trust us.

Show her that bit of vampire you collected, ask if she knows what it is. If she doesn't, explain. Then explain that the vampire hive has a foothold in the nobility of this down; that makes them the kind of dangerous she'd be safer off not knowing instead of a danger she should be be warned about. You're sorry you lied and you had no intention of hurting her, any your sorry your paranoia caused you to do so. Unfortunately in dealing with the undead, it's smart to keep one's affairs in order, and leaving her alone was something you didn't want. And you understand if she says no, but you would still like for her to go to the festival and meet your friend. He's confident and a skilled fighter when he isn't being an absolute grump.

Yeah, tell her this.

If she wants proof, show her the vampire tongue thing and tell her that the grim business you’re here for involves vampires and for her own safety, you can’t tell her anything else. And neither you or her can go to the guards because, since Tertian‘s sister was a part of the guards, there’s no telling who else is involved.

Ask her to promise to not tell anyone about this.

Once you get her to calm down, you can try explaining the double date thing again.

I feel like a fucking idiot for not thinking of this sooner. Let’s tell Alisa that we’re a bounty hunter.

Someone in the far north put a bounty on Tertian because, several years ago, he was a serial killer that seduced people and murdered them after luring them to bed and having sex with them. You have his necklace as proof that you stopped that monster from harming anyone else.

If she asks how the necklace proves anything, since you could’ve just wrote his name on it and not killed him for easy money, tell her that your employer has a mage that will cast a spell on you that can tell if you’re lying or telling the truth.

You can’t tell her anything else because it’s classified.

Make very sure that thicczard understands that, if she wants you gone, you will follow her wish, be gone post-haste and never bother her again.

Huh, that does seem more reasonable than telling her there are vampires in town.

Tell the truth and have her run to the guards? I don't think so. Telling the truth would also involve revealing Ema's real name and appearance, which would be very bad and make it that much harder to do what we came to this city to do.

We should not tell Alisa the truth about us!

I said tell the truth, not her secret. We could tell her that when we found it and that because of how expensive these things are we actually had no intention of giving it back to a whore.

As for Kharn, we could say that in the short time we've known her we've seen how good a person she is and we want her to be happy but we're a traveler so we can't stay with her so we thought we could try hook her up with a local guy we've kind of become friends with that we thought she would like and he would like her.
Sorry if we over stepped our boundaries.

Or we could tell her the truth.

Vampires are a bit of a non-sequitur though? Talking about them doesn't explain any of the stuff she is asking about, and only frightens her or makes us look crazy. As of >>933521 I agree with your goal, but not your approach there.

Telling a partial version of the truth (or even spilling all of it) results in a meandering web of improbabilities and murder. It's not going to do any better at convincing her we're legit than making up more lies. Fortunately, we don't have to tell her ANYTHING. We can simply say "sorry, I am in some dangerous shit and I don't want to get you involved" and let it go. It would be nice to do it gently, and in a way that doesn't preclude further contact with this or some other EmaSona, but I'd rather cut losses than make it worse.

It pretty well explains why the hooker died without having to lie and explains why we were being sparing with the truth, Which explains EXACTLY the things she's asking about. It's also a better plan than just pulling a 'need to know basis' card and hoping that changes her mind about Ema being a liar and not wanting to go see Karn, which no way approaches the goal you say you agree with.

Uh, isn't the curfew supposed to be in effect right now? If the guards see us out and about, they might think we're up to something and arrest us for suspicious behavior.

So can we leave or are we stuck here for the night? Because if we're stuck here, we ain't gonna be sharing a bed with Alisa. Maybe we can sleep on the floor or something? Maybe even a private room so that she won't immediately see Ema, in case she can't stay as Elric all night?

I’m not sure if that means she’s gonna let us sleep here or not? Maybe after hearing about the vampires, she wanted us to stay here to keep her safe? We might wanna ask if she wanted us to sleep on the floor or if “stay a little bit longer” meant just long enough to finish this conversation?

That’s actually a good point.

We should tell Alisa that we don’t know if it’s a good idea for us to step outside during the curfew. We don’t need the guards arresting us.

But if she really wants us gone, then we’d better take the risk and go out into the night. And we probably could save ourselves some trouble by going to Tertian‘s house and sleeping there, instead of going in the morning.
