Trees whipped past the window as the train rattled down the track. Snowy mountains and trees, as far as I could see. I sighed, creating a sheet of fog on the glass. I had no idea where I was going. The only thing that mattered was getting as far away from home as possible.

The train suddenly lurched as it began slowing down. I wiped away the condensation and peered out the window as the train pulled into a small station. There were a small handful of people milling about as they waited for the train to arrive. I leaned back into my seat and sighed.

“Miss?”

The greeting startled me. It was the stewardess, a snake. “Miss, this is the train’s final stop. Are you getting off now?”

I began panicking. “I’m not- I can’t get off, I need to stay on.”

The stewardess looked a little uncomfortable. “Miss, I’m very sorry, but you have to get off now. It’s the end of the line, and we can’t keep you on.”

“Wh-why not?”

“Well, I believe your ticket was a one way pass,” she pulled out a small notebook and flipped through it, “Looks like you added a comment here, says ‘as far out as possible’. This is as far as this train goes. Matter of fact, it’s as far as any train goes,” she pocketed the notebook and put her hands on her hips, “fact of the matter is, Miss, you’ve arrived at your destination.”

“Oh..”

I nervously pulled my things together and headed down the train and out onto the platform, the stewardess close behind, probably making sure I didn’t try to hang back.

The stewardess closed the door behind her and stretched. “Um, excuse me, stewardess?” I nervously fiddled with my hat, “Um, I’ve never been here, where…. Where do I go?”

The stewardess shrugged. “No idea, I’ve only ever been here for an hour or two tops. This is just a stop for me.

“If you want more info, you can head over to the information desk over there,” and she pointed behind me to a small building in the center of the platform.

There were a few bulletin boards of ancient notices and event schedules, and two windows. One was labeled “Tickets”, and the other was labeled “Information”.

Go get info on the town, maybe talk to the locals
