Mudy stuffs the diadem in his backpack as the soldiers close in. He nimbly slides under the table.

>"As long as Queen Empress not havink chosen new ruler you will listenink to elder sister' will!"

KGGHH--- HFFFF----
>"BEINK RUNNINK, MUDY! VHE VHILL TAKINK CARE OF THIS!"
KGGGHH--- HFFFF---

With a mad dash, Mudy succesfully dodges and weaves through the soldiers' legs and out the door.

Ok, /quest/, Knuckle time.

Calvera framed us good. We need, NEED, to let Rapier know what has occured before we run off. We haul ass, our credibility is destroyed, the elves fall to warring factions, the city devours itself. We NEED to stay and sort this shit clear, even if that means that Hans, Gunther, and Calvera escape. We're not "Big Goddamn Heroes" here, and can't go riding off into the sunset like we are.

/quest/, I beg you. Let's not undo the work of days. Let's not let the city fall to fractuous measures and divisive actions by our nemesis. We CAN solve this, in a manner that would make both prince katana and the matriarch proud.

We just need to do what every last one of our kindergarden teachers told us to do, /quest/.

We need to use our words.

Man you really don't get it, do you?

How can we seriously help Rapier any more than Dagger, Totenkopf or the prince himself could?

We are a kobold bard with NO fighting ability and not much strength. It would be suicide to walk back in there and try to fight.

This is a necessary retreat. Two of our valued allies are being led by the doublecrossers of our group into a trap and don't know it.
Our first priority is to save them and get the hell outta dodge till things settle down.

'I see. You are aware that should those individuals identify themselves as Sir Bladetree and Axebeard Goldwomb, that you have been sold foreign dignitaries scheduled to meet with the royal family shortly, correct? I do not believe Lords Rapier, Stiletto and Katana nor Lady Halberd would enjoy hearing of their absence. Yes, four of the five Darkmoons would wish to see these two if they are those dignitaries. Would you like to risk the ire of all of them?'

Do it beadpan, all confidence. No worry, because as far as you, an official messenger care, they could get sold. You are just doing your job, telling this individual the ramifications if the two slaves he got happen to be the dignitaries.

Now at that point, he has to ask himself: Does he feel sure enough that they are not dignitaries and that we are not telling the truth to risk it?

You saw how most commoners exult and fear the royal family, having the potential of four of five of the ruling family pissed at you would probably make you cry like a baby.

I think he will fold, so long as we say it right.
