Mudy decides his next meeting will be with prince Darkmoon Katana. He makes his way through the clean and quiet noble district to the Central Palace and the Dark Moon temple below it.
In front of the quiet south entrance sits a lonely man with his eyes closed.
>"Please dressink in proper clothink and not carryink vheapons."
, he says with a sharp tongue.

Well, there are 22 cards in the Major Arcana, and he's now using the, in the Ill-Dignified/Reverse position. So that gives a total of atleast 40 some chapters.

Then there's also the Minor Arcana which has 56 cards. All with Ill-Dignified/Reversed positions as well...thus another 100ish. BUT, I doubt Reaver has the patience or time to continue this past 40 or so chapters. That would probably overkill and unnecessary haha.

I still say visiting Katana next makes the most sense, he is on the way to Rapier or Bolt, and if we could rouse him to join us, not only would that mean Bolt would be the lone descendant left to convince, but we would have talked one brother out of, from their perspective, spending all his time wallowing in his pleasures to agree to this in sincerity AND convinces their youngest brother to come out of seclusion at the monestary for it.

Plus, I suspect we might want some sort of Dark Elf guards when we go to the Bolt's domain, what with the multiple mentions of her racism. She could easily just kill us for being a kobold if no one stops her.

NOT RAITAL THOUGH.

But we should take a walk through the city with her later, maybe buy her some gifts (oh yeah, no money, might want to ask Darkmoon for some), to spend more time with her.

Mudy continues through the gate and enters the gigantic round temple. Circling a small platform are hundreds upon hundreds of faithful, kneeling facedown with their hands stretched out to the center.
There are four wide and bright exits, leading to each of the districts.

A young man balances on a raised pillow in the middle. He speaks in a monotonous but gentle voice.
>"And may the strong seek wisdom from the meek, and the meek seek willpower from the strong."

The crowd repeats him flawlessly.
>"...AND MAY THE STRONG SEEK WISDOM FROM THE MEEK AND THE MEEK SEEK WILLPOWER FROM THE STRONG..."

>"For in unity does the future lie. All scattered minds to one; Productivity and harmony."

>"...FOR IN UNITY DOES THE FUTURE LIE. ALL SCATTERED MINDS TO ONE; PRODUCTIVITY AND HARMONY..."

It seems like the speaker is halfway into a ceremony.

Mudy decides to sit out the ceremony. As the genders appear to be mixed, he joins a random side.
Not being interested in the sermon at all, the words just kind of flow over him as Mudy contemplates what to do after.

Suddenly he notices the sermon has ended. However, everyone around him continues kneeling, muttering quietly to themselves.
When Mudy considers wether or not to get up, a voice from nearby pierces his ears.

Katana nods.
>"Please, follow me."

The Prince leads Mudy to one of the more quiet and darker corners of the temple, where he directs Mudy to one door as he enters through another.
Mudy is not left alone in the dark room for long, as he quickly hears the Prince's voice again.

Maybe some day, hundreds or thousands of years later, the way of pacifism might slowly and gently change that, but in the interim, millions would die, would suffer, would despair. Entire generations would live in fear of angering the rulers, never knowing hope or contentment. People that would never have died, never would have suffered, if we stopped this before it reached such a point.

I beg you, please tell me, what is pacifistic about letting untold numbers suffer later rather than enduring a much lesser suffering now? I have seen individuals with enough strength to lay waste to cities or armies, and several members of the Darkmoon royal family could be said to have that strength.

The need for an army then, is not to actually engage in warfare so much as to act as a means of deterring ones opponent from simply trying to raze your cities, while those with power enough for martial acts then contest the ultimate victor.

I can understand abhorring violence, but if you say a way to protect your people during a time of necessary change, would you not take it?'

Mudy heads through the Noble's District to the palace wing of Princess Darkmoon Bolt.
The Noble District is very clean and quiet compared to the other districts, and its building much larger and more intricately decorated.
The few people Mudy passes look at him with disgust and contempt, but make no moves.

The gate into Bolt's palace is without guards.

Besides, this should be good quality time with Raital, trusting each other with your lives to try and do something heroic.

Ok, /quest/, Knuckle time.

Calvera framed us good. We need, NEED, to let Rapier know what has occured before we run off. We haul ass, our credibility is destroyed, the elves fall to warring factions, the city devours itself. We NEED to stay and sort this shit clear, even if that means that Hans, Gunther, and Calvera escape. We're not "Big Goddamn Heroes" here, and can't go riding off into the sunset like we are.

/quest/, I beg you. Let's not undo the work of days. Let's not let the city fall to fractuous measures and divisive actions by our nemesis. We CAN solve this, in a manner that would make both prince katana and the matriarch proud.

Would you like to risk the ire of all of them?'

Do it beadpan, all confidence. No worry, because as far as you, an official messenger care, they could get sold. You are just doing your job, telling this individual the ramifications if the two slaves he got happen to be the dignitaries.

Now at that point, he has to ask himself: Does he feel sure enough that they are not dignitaries and that we are not telling the truth to risk it?

You saw how most commoners exult and fear the royal family, having the potential of four of five of the ruling family pissed at you would probably make you cry like a baby.

"If you enslave me, my sweet Prince Stiletto will be SO PISSED OFF AT YOU!"

*Choke back a sob*

"He sends me down here to try to find him some fun new toys and playthings, mentions this dock by name for the quality and lasting pleasure of its slaves, and then I, his new favorite, get treated like this?"

*Burst into tears*

"When he hears about this, or doesn't hear from me in the next two hours, you'll never see business from him again!"
