A man is standing in front of a console feverishly hitting buttons randomly. Surrounding him, are several lifeless bodies sitting at chairs and sprawled across the floor.

"How does this damn thing..."

"I have no idea how any of this stuff works..."

He goes back to the console.

"There's this big flashing light in the corner saying 'NOT CONNECTED,' but otherwise I can't figure out what any of this means."

He looks around for a moment.

"As far as I can tell, the ship is doing fine. I can still breathe, so that's a good sign, but the crew..."

He glances at the bodies all around him.

"Not doing so well."

He goes back to pressing random buttons on the console.

"I... Have no idea why I am still alive. I mean, there weren't any explosions are turbulence that I can recall. The lights went out momentarily when we hit Warp, then... Well, I found everyone like this."

He moves away from the console.

"Ehh, I'm Jimith. Jimithy, but everyone calls me Jimith.. Or called..."

Jimith looks down for a moment, before looking back up.

"Alright, so it looks like you don't have all that much access with the rest of the ship. I suppose that means we should do something about that, like find out how to 'reconnect' you, or find someone who could help in some way."

Jimith pauses for a moment, thinking.

"I don't know about too much of the ship. All of its crew were given bare minimum information when they signed on, mostly just what we need to know and where our quarters were. So I know where the tools are for my job, and where my bags are, but besides that I could only tell you what the decks are called."

He types into the console:

Command Deck. (We are here)

The Command deck is where the Bridge is located, along with all the other necessities for travel and the like. Other than this room, it houses several hallways that have who knows what type of uses, and the Officers Lounge area.

Military Deck

The Military Deck is where everything that relates to weapons and armaments would be located. I hear it's mostly research and development in case we need it out here, but it's also where the Armory is.

Civilian Deck

This is where the quarters are, along with all the other necessities of living, like food, gym, recreation, etc.

Engineering

Eh, Engine stuff I guess. Also houses whatever supplies the ship is holding along with the resources we pick up. I suppose this would be the most logical place to house whatever system that your suppose to connect to, though I have no idea how to go about it.

"There is a central elevator that leads to all the individual decks, and then staircases that connect the many floors on each deck. This is a pretty big ship, I doubt Ill ever see it all."

something that happened doing the warp killed everyone and probably wouldn't have happened if some system was working right. perhaps the shields failed or who knows?! anyway, let's work systematically and check all the rooms on this deck first, if you see any and i mean ANY movement, assume it's hostile and get a door between you and it before checking if it's not.

Before being disconnected, I received audio of the last words of the crew. One person seemed to have a strange feeling that something was wrong, but didn't know what it was. The captain told him to keep an eye out for something, but was cut off mid sentence. Either everybody died between one word and the next, or my sensors were first cut, and then everybody died.

Does this corellate with your own experience? Do you wish to replay the recording of that conversation?

So basically we can assume this was some kind of experimental FTL spess travel that went haywire and killed the crew. What can you tell us about the mission itself? We have no idea whats going on, apparently due to damage caused by said warp.

“Yeah, the audio just popped up on the display.”

After listening to the recording, Jimith moves away from the console.

“Hm, can’t say I know what to make of this, there’s a lot of static.”

He looks over the bodies around him.

"What was the ships mission? Who cares. It's a downright failure and what matters is getting out of here."

He heads over to the central elevator.

"I suppose getting a gun is a good idea, it would be the Armory on the Military Deck for that, and then afterward we could head down to the Civilian deck for supplies, then go see what we could do about reconnecting you down in Engineering.”

The elevator closes, and begins its way downward.

“My dreams? Nothing really. Just wanted to get out of my crappy hometown and be a part of an amazing adventure with friends. Start a new life, one that doesn’t require living day to day not sure if you’re going to die of starvation or disease.”

*Beeeep* The elevator lets out a moderately loud chime as it reaches its destination. The doors open and Jimith steps out.

“The ship is outfitted to last. Our only ship mounted ‘weapon’ of note is a powerful beam that breaks up particles to use for whatever we want to create on board the ship: food, tables, weapons, you name it. I suppose if we were to disable its safety locks and aim it at a ship, it would tear it apart once its breaks the armor apart at its molecular level. It is all we really need out here since---"

*Beeep* The elevator chimes, and the doors open. Jimith steps cautiously onto the Engineering Deck. The lights are dim here, and the walls are cluttered with electrical outlets and pipes.

"I don't get it. Why are the shooting at me!?"

He peers into a corridor leading away from the elevator room.

"Ugh, we could go to the main engine room to try and connect you, search another floor, or go to the ships storage and try and find something of use, though I doubt anything other than a gun will do good against armed opponents."

Well, how good are you with tools?
If you can find a welder and some metal, you can make a pretty good shank

Actually, scratch the shank. Find container of flamable gas, attach regulation valve, attach rubber hose(or some kind of pipe).

Go back up elevator, use a welder with the gas coming out of the pipe creating a flamethrower.

Good enough eh?

"Oh sure, I'll use my latent mechanical skills to create some sort of Junk'O'Tron Missile Launcher and show those well armed assailants who have full access to the Armory who their dealing with!"

He opens a compartment on the wall and pulls out a small disk shaped device.

"Know what this is? It's one of the very few things on this ship I know how to operate. And guess what? It's a high tech BROOM! I don't know how to operate heavy machinery, hot-wire a raging robot, or take out a tank with nothing but a rubber band and a box of breath mints! I'M THE JANITOR!"

He throws the disk against the wall, where it falls to the ground and violently electrocutes the ground around it before running out of power.

Can you put a rubber hose over a gas tap?
Can you turn a valve open?
Can you turn on a welder?
If so, head to plasma storage.

Anyway, considering the above is probably hard to do (I mean, who'd give access to flamable substances to a janitor?), you'll have to do with the brooms for now...

Still, you probably have access to universal cleaner... right?

"However, I am unable to rewrite designated target: 'Jimith' from the hostile roster. In fact, someone with a lesser rank than your own has been ordering me to fire this enti͟r̖e̖̙̼̩̹̖͝ time. As to what has occurred, I am not one to ask. He goes over to where Jimith is hiding.

"Hello Jimith, it is safe to come out now as there are no known hostiles within the vicinity."

Jimith peeks his head out.

"Er, uh, Hi..."

The android stands at attention.

"As not being connected to the Combat Protocol Channel makes my current order impossible to carry on efficiently, I am now awaiting further orders. Yes Jimith, that mean's I won't be shooting you."

"Er, thanks... Uh, what can I call you?"

"You can call me by my proper name, which is GNR00673-01."

"Uh..."

"Just kidding. Call me Rodriguez, as that is a lot easier to roll off the non-electronic tongue."

"...Alright"

"I feel it is important to inform you that the door leading to the engine room, where you would be connected to the main systems, is currently out of order. Rodriguez begins heading through various passageways, Jimith following close behind.

"It will be important to note that I am not currently connected to the Combat Protocol Channel. If we should come across opposition, I will not be as capable in fighting them as I am intended to be. Single targets who I get the drop on are easy if I can calculate a firing solution beforehand, but once they start shooting back after my fist shot, I am a sitting duck and likely to become a casualty. To reiterate: More than one enemy equals bad."

The two enter a large room. On the side they entered are marks across the ground that look like something exploded here, and some blood smeared across the wall. No bodies to be found.

"I engaged the enemy here. Target entered the room armed with a fully automatic light machine gun and was marked hostile so I immediately opened fire as per protocol, hitting the target in the left brachialis anticus."

"Uh..."

"That would be the left upper arm, Jimith."

"Ah..."

"The target then took cover and laid down heavy suppression fire on my position in the doorway leading to the engine room. I then fired a 40mm projectile frag grenade, ending the fight. I did not find a body, but the chances that the target managed to get past me was .000032%, which is too low of a percentage for me to give a damn about."

Jimith stands up from inspecting the blood smear.
“Well, all that leaves us is getting through the engine room door. Since we just took off before all this happened, the tools we would need would be with the luggage of the engineers, which is to say, in their quarters. I guess we could go to the Civilian Deck and search the rooms there."

since you are disconnected and no longer under the other's orders you may be marked as hostile to other units. so another option to direct conflict would be for us to override their orders. not sure how to do that but it's a thought. another thought to go with that is : if 51% of active units are given orders to add jimith is the friendly list would they be able to due to the consensus for the action being so heavy?

anyway, let us head for the civ deck.

"I am currently a prototype. There are no other androids aboard this vessel as well. It was intended that should my field tests prove positive, more of me would be made. Also, to prevent hacking attempts, it is impossible to gain access to the full hostile/ally roster without a direct and close connection to the Combat Protocol Channel.

*Beeeep* The elevator arrives at the Civilian Deck, and the two step out. No one else is in the immediate room, and several bodies litter the floor, just like the Command Deck.

Jimith looks over the bodies briefly with a grimace on his face, before heading up a flight of stairs to the floor above.

"Friendly located down the residential hall. Two of them, though I doubt they would be very friendly to you, Jimith; and they appear to be armed with basic handguns, currently drawn. As I am not connected to the Combat Protocol Channel, I cannot decide on the best course of action."

Jimith glances quickly down the hall before ducking back out of sight.

"If we want to, we could get around to behind them through an adjacent passage, where we would be a bit closer, or even get past them all together. Other then that, they appear to be searching the rooms for something."

"Generating practice field. Creating a firing solution at 3732-5. Firing."

Rodriguez fires a single shot, hitting the closest fleeing targets side of the head.

Jimith jumps out of hiding and throw one of his 'brooms' at the feet of the other hostile, causing him to light up as electricity courses through him for several seconds. As it finishes, he falls forward, very much dead and slightly on fire.

Rodriguez walks up to the charred corpse.

"Warning: Fire detected."

*CRUNCH*

Jimith looks a little uneasily at the charred body with Rodriguez’s foot through its ribcage.

"I still don't get how these things even got past safety testing... Alright, yet's just look for some tools."

They walk up to the door that the two were trying to get into, and hear a faint shuffling from within.

After a moment of silence of staring down the dark corridor, Rodriguez leads the small group down a long, dimly lit hall. After a minute of walking, the hall opens into a vast chamber, the ceiling easily a mile above. In the center of the Engine Room is a cylindrical device that most definitely is the engine of the ship. Power lines come in from all directions, ending up entering the device around the sides almost haphazardly.

"Oh! Your back! Nothing bad, I was just looking around. We found a way under the tank."

In the center of the room are 6 tubes that seemingly have power shooting from top to bottom. Two of them look inactive.

"I was wondering where you went to, Jim and Rod are up above looking around."

Her face turns concerned for a moment but then returns to her usual smile.

"Well I am sure we'll be fine."

A voice comes from above.

"Neela, find anything?"

"That would be correct Jim! I found some interesting power conduits and the A.I.!

"Alright."

I head up the steps to the engine room. Jim is walking over with Rod.

"Whats up?" says Jimithy.

"Oh the A.I. wants to figure out whats up with the girl in the tank really quick."

"Yeah. . ., it's a bit creepy. I mean, what's she doing in there anyway? Isn't there suppost to be an engine down here?"

"Thats the thing though, as far as I can tell, all the power from this room is coming from that tank."

Rodriguez interjects, "Would that not cause a normal human to be destroyed while in the tank?"

"Normally," I say, "But so far she seems perfectly fine."

"Aside from being a vegetable in a tank" Jimithy remarks.

"So, any ideas?"

Jimithy looks around the tank a bit before saying in a slightly annoyed manner, "Hm, I'm not seeing any way to get anything in there. As far as I can tell there is no wait in, and the glass looks thick." He then looks at Rodriguez.

Rodriguez quickly says, "I am not shooting the glass."

Too bad it's controlled a lot by sensors, we can't fire it, but he cant fire at us!

Now, I don't think we should saw off his hands... He's being controlled right now, if their is a chance we can get him back, he'd make a better attack droid if he can still lift boxes for us. That, and Jim wouldn't let me :(

Oh, and we're not in Jimmy, we're just following him around. He doesn't even have a clue where we are.

>You think I am that pompous king who sits on his throne with the hand that commands the masses, letting his minions do all the work?

He laughs heartily. I begin to take cautious steps backwards.

>No no no, you don't seem to have a grasp on the situation you are in at all!

The lights flicker again and Ire lurches forward another step. I break out in a full sprint away from here, down the hallway to wherever it may lead.

>Ha ha ha. Run little Jimmy, I can wait on my feast. The more it grows, the more I will enjoy cutting it out.

After a few moments of running, I enter parts of the hall where the lights are on, but I keep running as fast as I can until I run out of breath.

Hunched over to recollect my thoughts, I look around, seeing a sign over a door saying 'MEDICAL BAY'.

"W-what WAS that?"

"You're right."

I enter the Medical Bay.

Inside, I see someone sitting at a desk, looking over some papers. Through a window behind the desk I see someone hunched against a wall, holding a cloth in place of a bleeding wound on the chest.

The person at the desk looks up as I enter.

I HAD THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE A LOT STRONGER BY NOW. BUT YOU WILL GROW IN TIME.

"Well then, I am looking for a friend, her name is Neela."

>"Aye, I came across a gal by that name on my way up here. She was being attacked by some crazy guy with a knife. That's where I got this wound."

"Thanks, but what about you?"

>"I am taking the elevator down, into the belly of the beast, as it were."

We reach the elevator.

>"I don't think there are any of them in the upper decks right now, they should be converging in the Military wing. I would avoid that area as much as possible, especially without heavy support."

"Yeah, but-"

>"Don't worry, you'll be fine."

"Hold on. The doctor was saying that you were pretty much dead, and yet here you are standing, ready to get back into the fight that got you almost killed in the first place. Why arn't you dead?

"I'm not really hungry, but I am somewhat interested in what the outside looks like. I haven't seen much of it."

I begin my way through the silent corridors towards the External Weapons Panel.

"The Weapons Panel is basically where they house the controls for any external weapons. Supposedly its attached to a viewing room that they use to visually see test fires."

We arrive at a door with the words External Weapons Panel above it. I walk in cautiously, but find no one inside.

Finding nothing of glaring interest, I walk through a circular room with a raised platform in the center with computers seated towards the center. I enter the Viewing Room on the other side.
