Accept it calmly, and cheerfully wonder when we are going home. Make no indication you noticed what happened.

Let him stew with it in his head for a while. Maybe give us back to him for the way back, we might get him to feel less freaked out by it.

Oh my, hello, everyone.
My name is Janet, I am 46 years old, and proud mother of two wonderful children. My hobbies are reading and watching tv with some good company.

I really shouldn't disturb the kids right now. They were gone pretty much the entire day, so they must be very tired.

Let's see what's on TV, hm?
What kind of movies do you like?

Oh, a romantic comedy sounds nice. Looks like There's Something About Marie will be running again tonight. I don't really have the mind for those complicated movies. I prefer books if I need to think.
I'll watch some Weakest Link while waiting for it to start.

Oh, are you silly? Fiddy has been the number one boy in my life since he was born. He might be a little down right now, but I am sure he will grow up to be a splendid man.
And don't worry about his name too much. It might be a little weird first, but everyone always gets used to it quickly.

You know, I've been thinking - Fiddy and Janine are becoming pretty good friends, and Fiddy needs a change of pace. You mentioned a camping trip earlier, and it'd be a good chance to give Fiddy some responsibility. Why not have him and Janine go camping? It'd be fun, and they can visit Sunshine Fields again - after all, didn't they love being there the first time?

Janet... you know your son harbors ill feelings toward Marcus, correct?

Not that he would act upon them with violence, but it is quite obvious even to outside observers such as we voices that he does not like the man.

On the other hand, he seems to get along with that Liza girl quite well.

Well, I really can't blame the boy for harboring such feelings. It must have felt like Marcus simply abandoned them. Knowing Fiddy I think he's most of all angry for Marcus leaving while Janine is still so young, rather than thinking about his own relationship with his father.
He always cares so much for his little sister.

Liza, hm? Janny certainly likes the girl. I believe Fiddy isn't that interested in his stepfamily, but perhaps it would be good for him to be. Janny would be happy too.
Hmm.. Yes, I think a camping trip is a great idea. Liza can be the supervising adult while it will still feel like they are just the young ones together.

I should call Marcus about this first thing in the morning.

I think you guys are missing the point really damn hard. The Orb is not the point in the least - it's used as a) a storytelling instrument to justify how our suggestions reach different people at different times, and b) a homage to other /quest/ threads and creators that have used the exact same device. Don't get so wrapped up in the Orb - it is not the point of this particular story.
