this is it!
this is the moment jen was waiting...

pirates attacking the airship are kepping her master busy...
that bastard that has hurt her since she was bought, but today, today its the day the pig dies...

jen, the halfbold mechanic of this airship, rigged the engine to blow when she leaves in one of the smaller ships...

Okay. I designate my vote over to the ram-ship.

Agreed the firgite and mining ship are good, but they may attract unwanted attention from pirates and other bad guys.

If pirates pick up a ship on their scanners, they're probably gonna raid it regardless of what it is, barring capital ships and battlecruisers.

not if they plan to be pirates for very long. Pirates are all about the risk/reward ratio, not rampant mindless violence.

I vote the Frigate.
It doesn't cost 3/4 of our money like the mining ship, and it has amenities, unlike the ramship.
The ship should do for a few trips and raising money; we don't need to leave the planet yet.
Once we have enough money, it should be a simple task to purchase multiple ships.

Voltron-style sheinanigans may come later.

Unrelatedly, Jen is stated to be a halfbold. What is the other half?

Given that we have extremely limited combat experience, but require money to survive, our income will probably almost entirely consist of finding things to sell. Therefore, cargo space is a must.

After that, I would agree with the theme of choosing whichever one is likely to draw the least attention.

Mining ship.

No. 33903 ID: f78140

mining ship. we're likely to be in for the long haul, so we should take the ship for long hauls. with a construction facility and lots of space, we can produce goods.
any fight we'd be getting in would be a losing fight, regardless. our goal should be leaving the CGA controlled space.

Mining ship. Don't discount the usefulness of construction capability, and mining equipment is often usable as weaponry.

Maaan, just when the not-mining-ship options were building some support. Why do the mining ship votes have to come in large, will destroying batches... all within 15 minutes of eachother... many with little supporting argument provided... *eyes*

I would say mining ship, so long as it is one of the heavy duty ones that can mine asteroids during meteor showers and shit, which I would imagine it is, since it doesn't have any unnecessary exposed parts.

A big, durable warehouse/workshop/home/mining/salvaging vessel is pretty much the most useful thing to possibly have right now.

we want mining ships because we just played homeworld.

though why don't we keep a ramship in the mining ship one day?

well, actually, I suppose a ramship would be good too, and I would enjoy the quest either way. so my vote goes to whoever has less votes at the moment, currently being the ramship.

The Mining Ship it is!
[1280C remaining]
After you buy it and the engines arrive you have a new ship to call home, according to the ex-owner, there are some space spores inside, but nothing of a problem, the computer on the construction area has these schematics ready for building when you have the material:

[miner drone, combat drone, guard robot, long range scout]

The living quarters are huge and can carry up to 100 people, the ship has sub-space travel, but you cannot use that inside the asteroids here…

The only warning that he gives you is to not try to mine asteroids that are being already mined… unless you have a clocking device… which by casualty he also sells [700C]

There are also schematics for sale for different types of things you can build…

Now, what should we buy?

Buy cloaking device.

Start buying slaves. We'll save as many of them as possible now that we have room.
>>
No. 33919 ID: 192956

>>33916
I think we should get the clocking device (but try to bargian him to a lower price) because being able to earn money mining will give us a return on our investment.
>>
No. 33921 ID: 01383e

so... I say we use this mining ship for large scale gunrunning. anybody agree?

Lets see what kind of schematics are offered before deciding on the cloaking device.

We are looking for both external ship armaments and internal sentry turret style defensive measures (flamethrower ones might be fairly easy to make, and could be mounted around all the doors as a strong first line of defense[could even rig them to draw from ship fuel to make them more autonomous]). Lets also ask if they have designs for superior/wider application fabrication devices, with promises to sell a large deal of new constructs to him at low rates? Guaranteed good deals are always a plus to a merchant.

33957

There are various fighters and escort ships, both manned and unmanned, ranging form [50C] the most basic to [1000C] a medium fighter
There are various ship weapons small lasers [300C] missile [500C] and cannon [400C]
Remember that these are just the schemes, we need material to build them…

Slaves are cheap… and mostly depend on what they can do… but what is most important now is to get food!

We can either buy a hydrofarm, for [100C], but we will need lots of people running it…
Or a automated farm, for [300C]

I got the price of the cloak device down to [400C] because the ship has to be almost stopped for it to work and any military ship sensors will see us as clear as day… :/

>>33957
What do space spores do? Kill things?

You should probably destroy them all with your "sticks" before they become a problem.

Also buying slaves means that they will be treated much more nicely by you than whoever they would otherwise have been purchased by, so it's not a bad idea entirely.
>>
No. 33961 ID: 1689ab

Lets buy a regular farm, then get 200C worth of slaves to operate it. We'll find slaves who are the most abused and mistreated and we shall buy them and they shall become members of our crew.

If this means they're all super-cute girls, then so be it.
>>
No. 33962 ID: 192956

>>33957
Get the cloaking device and automated hydro farm, its not like we are going to be starting a war or anything, and besides right now we can get weapons after we have earned money from mining.
>>
No. 33969 ID: 27cccc

Assumming we got the schematics for weapons, could we add them to this ship? If so i'd say grab lasers of the best kind you can afford, i'd guess they'll have less ammo problems than the rest.
>>
No. 33973 ID: 01383e

get the automanted one, I say. maybe some slaves, to make it an even 500.
>>
No. 33978 ID: 192956

33980

Space spores just rest in places until they find some food, then they use it to create more space spores, and repeat… they are not harmful…

This ship has several weapon mount points, and automated robots can install weapons if we have them, they are controlled from the bridge, and we have a weapon system operator :3

So, we buy the cloak device, the auto-farm and 200C worth of slaves…

We still have 380C
