this is it!
this is the moment jen was waiting...

pirates attacking the airship are kepping her master busy...
that bastard that has hurt her since she was bought, but today, today its the day the pig dies...

jen, the halfbold mechanic of this airship, rigged the engine to blow when she leaves in one of the smaller ships...

the only question left, is who to take along with her, there are three other slaves on the ship, only she knows how to pilot the ships inside, so she can only take one ship...

there are three ships:

- a small fighter ship, for two persons
- a small bomber, three people will fit in this one
- and a cargo ship, where she could put all the girls, but is weaponsless and slow...

the girls in the ship are also three:

- a catgirl in charge of the computer systems
- a small human in charge of the main ship defense systems
- and a sheepgirl medic

so the question is, what ship to take on who to save?

Well, you are in possession of a cargo ship. Do you have any money? Anything to sell for money? If so, buy some cargo, at a low price for the goods, and then sell them somewhere they go for more money.

Or... something else? I don't know. D:

The three girls introduce themselves:
Eri is the halfsheep, Lisa the human and Melanie, the catgirl that won’t stop smiling…
Also, I forgot to point out, but we are already in the atmosphere of some planet the pig master came to make deals, like he used to do… (:3)… also, there is some cargo in the ship… it looks like laser weapons and assorted armor…

The planet is neutral to slaves… the only thing that counts here is the Money…

Melanie finds the cargo ship logs, there says that each weapon box sells for about 1000C (there are 5 of them) and each armor box is 500C (also 5 of them)…

In non regulated planets, like these, if you have money or goods, you are ok, in regulated planets, we would be hunted and returned to a slavery institution or shoot dead on sight, depending on the government…

We can safety say that we suck with weapons, none of us are military trained…

The cargo ship has a nuclear reactor, which means that it wont run out of fuel for about 20 years… but its very slow… and cannot exit planetary orbit…

Also, we could point, a little late …, that the ship cargo capacity would have allowed us to bring the fighter inside…

About money… I was bought for 100C… and this ship is probably worth 2500C new…
The weapons are banned from selling, since there are a lot of wars and the central government agency (CGA) is trying to limit the use of these in favor of other forms of conflict resolution… and that’s why they sell for a lot…

So lets tell him we are willing to sell the ship and the armaments/gear that we haven't appropriated for ourself.

Then for buy, we need some sort of reasonably fast and well-armed vessel that could house the four of us with room for cargo (not as much as the cargo shuttle had though).

...you know, the whole point of this question was to determine how roundabout we needed to be when approaching the topic of selling this stuff off. But if that approach works, so be it.

I don't think selling off the ship is going to be such a great idea if we are planning to buy another one. Dealers need to make a profit off of customers, so anything we buy is going to have lower net worth. We would probably be better off adding some defenses and/or better engines to what we have now, at least in the short term.

The smuggler, merchant, rat person was waiting with two robots by in each side… after some far away greetings, they checked the ammo while the girls waited patiently behind me, with the guns, for if we have to defend ourselves…

After the check was complete, the rat person spoke again: “good, all the cargo checks up, we had to make sure, now lets talk about money little one… lets see… I’ll give you 250C for each crate of weapons and 150C for the armor ones… and if you still wanna sell the ship, I’ll take this, old, but functional beauty for 500C, what a good deal, isn’t it? ehehe”

If you are unskilled at haggling, you are not going to be able to get a great price out of this guy no matter what you say. It's the man's(?) job, after all. Assuming the "original price" is what it would cost to buy these things for personal use, (i.e. not the wholesale value) it's not a bad place to start. Let him know that YOU know what they are worth on the market, and he is going to have to do better than that if he wants them.

Our goal here is going to be wholesale price. Start with 1000/500. Settle for no less than half the open market value, 75% of open market is a pretty good deal.

And Now, a little Story…

Before the great war, the CGA (Central Government Agency), was just a little empire in the center of the galaxy, it was pacific and for this, all the other empires used it as neutral ground to discuss and pact…
… war was a common and in the borders of each empire skirmishes were fought everyday, until one of these conflicts escalated to a full scale war between the MNCROME empire and the SPECTRUM empire, the MNCROME had the upper hand due to rich metal deposit and superior spaceships, so the SPECTRUM decided to use a terrible invention… in a coordinated strike, massively armored ships gated in each of the systems controlled by the MNCROME and collided with the stars that sustained each of them, bombs installed inside each ship were designed to destabilize the stars and make them explode, the strike was a success and the once powerful MNCROME empire was reduced to lifeless asteroid fields…

Not flying around randomly, flying around delivering trade goods, passengers, possibly smuggling, possibly doing side quests when we land. Adventure!

I suppose one of the reasons I like the ramship is that it was described as an empty hull we could build up into anything we needed. If this is also true of the mining ship, I maybe don't hate it so much, but it is STILL less armored and a much bigger dent in our funds.

The Mining Ship it is!
[1280C remaining]
After you buy it and the engines arrive you have a new ship to call home, according to the ex-owner, there are some space spores inside, but nothing of a problem, the computer on the construction area has these schematics ready for building when you have the material:

[miner drone, combat drone, guard robot, long range scout]

The living quarters are huge and can carry up to 100 people, the ship has sub-space travel, but you cannot use that inside the asteroids here…

The only warning that he gives you is to not try to mine asteroids that are being already mined… unless you have a clocking device… which by casualty he also sells [700C]

There are also schematics for sale for different types of things you can build…

Now, what should we buy?

We are looking for both external ship armaments and internal sentry turret style defensive measures (flamethrower ones might be fairly easy to make, and could be mounted around all the doors as a strong first line of defense[could even rig them to draw from ship fuel to make them more autonomous]). Lets also ask if they have designs for superior/wider application fabrication devices, with promises to sell a large deal of new constructs to him at low rates? Guaranteed good deals are always a plus to a merchant.

There are various fighters and escort ships, both manned and unmanned, ranging form [50C] the most basic to [1000C] a medium fighter
There are various ship weapons small lasers [300C] missile [500C] and cannon [400C]
Remember that these are just the schemes, we need material to build them…

Slaves are cheap… and mostly depend on what they can do… but what is most important now is to get food!

We can either buy a hydrofarm, for [100C], but we will need lots of people running it…
Or a automated farm, for [300C]

I got the price of the cloak device down to [400C] because the ship has to be almost stopped for it to work and any military ship sensors will see us as clear as day… :/
