We seem to have a bit of an infestation..

Stop that. We aren't going to punish the girl over something she can't control, and likely wasn't even aware would happen given how eagerly she was eating despite people being around.

"You there, stop eating, now. Kassandra, they're sick, not wounded. Do you know of any way to treat diseases?"

Note: I'm assuming Kassandra's mask is meant to protect her from this sort of thing, so she'll be fine. Actually, that gives me an idea. Send out Ruby to purchase some face masks for everyone in the castle to use when needed.

Son of a bitch. Get Nyx in here; she's already a Plaguespreader and will hopefully be immune. Everyone else get the fuck away.

Nyx might get worse. Constructs are immune, thus we can use Emily to keep Tracey isolated if that is what we're going to do.

Everyone else needs to get to some better medical attention than we have here. Or to a location where they will just respawn after death. Or whatever method we have to recover dead troops. Heck, we could give the non-demon afflicted here revive rings, and simply have the demons afflicted put out of their misery so that they respawn here.

I have no idea which Fluffy is, so she might need a revive ring, but I'm sure Styx would respawn in the castle at this point.

Fluffy's a demon who wants to be a hero, but we don't know where she'd respawn or what'd she think upon respawning. And iirc, those afflicted become monsters and don't respawn.

You order anyone who could possibly be infected to leave the immediate area and have Emily go with Tracey outside the castle.
You call Nix in.

She examines the others.

>Nix: "This is the... Plauge. It's what you sta... rt off with. It can actually be cured with... With the right healer. There's one in... The Land of Abel. If I could have I..." she spits "I would have gone there myself. However he's uh.. Well Abel at least isn't very willing to take in visitors."

"We'll use force if necessary."

Time to go to the Land of Abel. Ask if the princess and butler wish to join us, or stay behind.

Too bad, we either sneak in or run past the defences. But we need to go NOW.
>>

Nix stall it, Styx and Kassandra look into finding a chemical cure if possible. We're getting it in the early stages here, and the one who CAN cure it has to have discovered that cure somehow. Try Demi Angel if nothing else works.

Keep Shana away from Tracey before someone gets murdered.

Contact the paladin and clerics if possible to help you get in.

We're going. We will bring everyone who is infected. First stop is Kass' friends, we explain there was an incident and

Tell the butler to keep things secure while we're gone, and tell Shana to keep him and his charge in check until we return.

Go to Fluffy, acquire our sword and the temporary allegiance of her golem. If she refuses threaten to leave her here.

Let's offer an exchange, then. If the Plague Doctor helps us, then in we'll in turn teach him our method of treating plaguespreaders (with the request that he obtains his claws through peaceful means). We might even be able to get him to share his own knowledge with us, furthering our search for a cure.

Can infected individuals spread the plague or is it solely Tracey's fault for the plague spreading?

Let's not get into that. She's the source of the disease, is what he meant. And iirc when we first encountered Nix, we were told that the plagueSPREADERS- the full-blown form of the disease- can spread the plague. Nix as she is now is a spitter. I'm not sure if she can. Our units atm can't, iirc. It sounds to be transmissible only through the cancer magic or plaguespreaders.

Fabio ditched when he saw we had the watch, I think he's probably in a bomb shelter somewhere.

Why did you bring her near the cancer mage when we told you to not bring her near the cancer mage?

Contact Kass's order. Tell them a cancer mage showed up and you need them to find you a Plague Doctor.

This is why we always scan all characters automatically. This should be like breathing for people as genre savvy as us.
>>
No. 384885 ID: fa9f7e

>>384883
If we're so genre savvy, we should know that trying to defy a preordained fate, aka the Goldeon Watch, always brings about a worse fate. It was either let this moment of stupidity pass or be screwed over worse and have a Retcon from "only activates when she eats" to "activates once every hour" or some such shit.
>>
No. 384886 ID: fa9f7e

But yeah, in the future always scan all people if we're not destined to be fucked over.
>>
No. 384890 ID: b6edd6

We should say to Fuffy: "I wouldn't poison my own people. Do you know what the girl with you is? These are the effects of a cancer mage. We need to keep everyone away from her until that power of hers goes inactive again. You can leave your golem friend with her if you are concerned about her; we are going to travel to seek a plague doctor before it is too late. You could choose not to come with us, but I would advise against it."

If we had kept doing everything right we probably could have gotten out of it entirely. Note that this doom doesn't even hurt us directly unlike what screwing things up with Lilith might have done. I think that might have been the last try for fate at fucking us over.

Seems like it is at least possible. If all the dangers had been avoided the watch would have simply stopped. Or maybe have moved one to an even lesser doom.

>Also, I don't think Fluffy is conscious atm.
Well that would make the sword easier to get, but I don't want to worry about that golem of hers causing any problems.

>doom is inevitable
>There are also tales of the clock randomly stopping for people and nothing bad happening to them..

I think this reinforces my theory that the watch detects problems/major plot points and warns the bearer of possible disaster related to them. If Tracey was the disaster, why would the clock tick faster for an unrelated issue with Lilith? We stopped the Lilith issue, and the new one immediately appeared, not giving the watch a chance to stop. Funny enough, the last line spoken before the watch ticked faster again was Tracey saying:
>"And to get your food!"

Hm, true. Although that "can't get rid of it while ticking" would seem that it causes/attracts trouble somehow. Possibly it's just a warning and we've had this coming anyways, possibly it attracts trouble somehow. Time to experiment after we fix this?
>>
No. 384926 ID: 6a5a08

>>384915
You can get rid of it. It just finds its way back to you. Somehow. After if we solve all our problems, it'll probably move on to warn some other poor sap that he's got a case of Terminal Destiny-itis.
>>
No. 384927 ID: 3947e9

alright so... step 1, keep cancer mage locked up somewhere, only golems may interact with her. Explain to her that we magically scanned her and her eating causes disease... but we will find a cure, until then we can't let her run.

Claim your other eye from the sword, powerup might help.

And then quest to abel's lands to find the cure because there is no way in fucking hell we are losing styx!
>>
No. 385073 ID: a46ec6

Locking up the cancer mage might be a bit much- and fluffy certainly won't think any better of us for locking up a friend/ally. We just need to make sure she's isolated from non-constructs until the effect wears off. If they end up staying, we can probably manage to find somewhere to feed her where she won't harm anyone.

And let's not grab our eye right now, we've got bigger issues to deal with, and we don't want to like, black out for several hours or whatever grabbing the eye is bound to do to us.

Time to pay the good doctor a visit.
>>
No. 385079 ID: 6a5a08

>>385073
I agree actually, don't go for the eye. For all we know it'll turn us back into Badass Overlord, and now isn't really the time to deal with that.
>>
No. 385081 ID: c4a1fc

>>385079
Aye, but we may need more power. I suggest we have a minion store it securely in a box or sack. We can take it out if we really need to. If we don't cross the Godzilla Threshold, the eye shouldn't affect us just by being near us, given that it was already near us in the sword.

this, but take off the mask. we can probly charm them all we want to no ill effect.
>>
No. 385496 ID: fcf88e

Alright, first off, we need to act casual. Keep the mask up and show our face. Be polite and respectful. They may be able to detect evil, but good aligned actions and desires may throw that off.

Keep your reasons simplistic. Say you came so you can get help for your friends who are sick and you need to see a doctor so they can be treated.

We are technically a golem, not a demon so we shouldn't be detected by those means either. Just take it calmly and act like an adventurer or someone simply trying to help his friends.

Another method is to say you are an acquaintance of Kass' church and mention one of the sisters who visited us. Should make things easier if we have someone inside to vouch for us.
