I was once the greatest.

I once lead the armies of Hell itself, purging its lands of the weak and slow. I once held the great sword Durance, and once, the greatest of warriors followed my call. Many feared me. Many admired me. Many wanted what I had, what I held.

But they did not see the future. That these wars that I once exulted in were going to destroy us. And when I made my opinion clear, they made theirs as well. As great as I was in battle, I was weak in the realms of scheming and manipulation. The snakes, the bastards, pointed at my sword, and it was stolen. They pointed at my titles, and they were stripped away. They pointed at my very honour...

and they took that as well.

Bereft of all that made me a Lord, they threw me away, into the pits. They chained me and took my might, my equipment. They took everything I ever had!

But there was one thing they never stole from me.

I am the great lo-

The petty Demon known as Harumda. What friends I had, call me 'Big H'. I once hailed from the tribe of Demons known as the Warriors. When I was casted out, I was branded, with a mark of The Lost. It allows me to hear the souls of the dead that wander here, numberless and infinite. My strength knows no equal, though some would say I am not the wisest or smartest.

Souls of the dead... that'd be us.

So, demon. You say the cuffs are unbreakable. But is the wall? Tear that restraint from the flimsy stone and make your escape... so that we might lead you to take revenge upon the living.

Depends on the ward.
For instance, an Alarm would go off with a preditermined signal as soon as I broke the barrier. But a Sending is activated by hand and sends a message to a predetermined place.

I am no magician or sorceror. My powers are limited: I can fly short distances, and I am incredibly strong. When I was a Lord, I had some control over Earth as well... but without my title and blade, I am reduced to this.

A good plan. I wait for the one watching from the window, then land as carefully as possible on the roof. Opening the hatch, I look inside.

>"Why would we execute him? He's not going to escape."
>"The Undead and the Seducers want his head. Their magical ability combined will be our undoing unless we submit to them."
>"I don't know..."
>"Would you like to talk to them instead, Brizzel?"

And then I hear the snap of forces coming to an end. I drop through the hatch and into the room, and Brizzel takes a step back.

>"Y-you escaped!"

The demon looks undecided...

>"Oh? I was chained for weeks, Brizzel. Were you too frightened to help me? I understand your position perfectly: You work for the winning side."
>"I-it's not like that..."

>"Well, sir, the warriors have split into three factions. Those that wish to see you in power again, those that follow Lord Raeve, and those that just go out and fight without an overarching plan."
>"Dammit! I knew it. And the other tribes?"
>"...Are taking advantage of our division by becoming more overt. In the last few days, we lost two fortresses to the Undead and several generals to the Seducers."
>"Son of a bitch! Fine, fine. I can fix this mess... will you be with me? Or will you work covertly? Or maybe you'd perfer to work for Raeve?"

There is a long pause.

>"I apologize, sir. I cannot work beside you, nor can I subvert him. If a chance arises, a moment of weakness, maybe... but I'm worthless except as an informant."

>"And you'll report my escape?"

well, that's because you're angry now.

I bet you could punch through that wall if you wanted to- but you don't. it's a nice wall, and it'll be yours one day.

Now grab your weapons. Grab their weapons. Grab all the weapons you could desire. From there, you are free to maim and destroy in whichever direction you choose.

My sword is not here.

But there is a multitude of weapons!

1: It's a simple sword.

2: A sharply cruved blade with a broken handle.

3: the largest. Clearly meant to weilded by somethign twice my size.

4: seven small blades, good for throwing and stabbing, but not for defence.

5: A long, thin blade, good at slicing but not much else.

take the small blades, never know when you need to stab someone at a distance.

Take the large blade, you may need an axe. unless you can just... chop things... with your hands.

And finally, take whichever blade you're best at fighting with, to kill things deader.

I can only carry one blade in my hands, having nowhere to put the others. These things on my arms ain't sleeves, they're rock growths from heavy use of Earth Magic. Same with my face.

The big one would take a very long time to swing and would limit my flight, but it couyld probaby withstand a great deal more impact than the smaller ones...

The curved blade with the broken handle has history behind it. I sense might unbridled, waiting to be claimed.

My skin is covered in a loose layer of sand, pebble, and earth. If I lived above, they would call me a gargoyle.

The broken handle is no issue for me, as I take the simple sword from its handle and switch the blades. If a weapon is magical, the enchantment only extends along the striking area of the weapon. The same goes for acquired enchantments (steeped in the blood of a thousand virgins, beheaded a hundred innocents, impaled ten priests, and violated one angel. That's the list that the greatest blade in Hell has, and it's one mother of a doozy, greater than even Durance)

BLADE ALDRIC ACQUIRED!

Magical properties:
Aldric can break enchantments and magical spells.
Aldric can turn spells aside.
Aldric bolsters magical defense.

Remember that map I drew? This guy is the Lord of the Hunter clan. As such, he's the best archer, marksman, assassin, tracker, finder, and all around badass when it comes to hunting. His black leather outfit is stronger than most steels, but counts as beast hide. The Warriors, on principle, are Allied with the Hunters. He doesn't need ammo for that bow, either. He only launches one magical arrow from it... and thern they clone in midair, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and finally, a hail of sixty-four arrows from one shot. And he can fire five times a second. Last guy you want to piss off, especially here, because the arrows bass through trees and vegetation and walls.

Agh! No worries. J-just a dislocation. I switch to my other hand and land behind the bank of fog.

>"Haaaaaaaaaah.... Haaaaaaaaaaah.... Haaaaaaaah. Yoooooooour Weeeapoooon Betraaaaays Yooooooou...."

I think he's laughing at me. He's really slow, though. I don't think I'll be in reach for a while. Any plans?

It's trying to taunt you. Time to turn the tables on him:

"No, you fool. My weapon reveals to me deeper truths through the gentle reminder of sacred pain. And if it's loving embrace causes its wielder this much damage, imagine how much pain it will inflict upon its enemies as our will becomes one."

"You don't stand a chance."

It's dyan, at the least. Struggling for every gasp o' life.

Fog lashes at me as I inspect it, then it fades away. I knew it! Nothing's gonna stop me now. I only have two more domains to pass through until I reach my goal, so I'd best hurry. Beast land is dangerous.

But how am I supposed to keep my bearings in this accursed fog!?

No deal! Stay on the 'ground'; I think he may have a hard time seeing you with his eyes on the floor like that. Make a cut and check for a reaction. I find it hard to believe he's really this big; he must be increasing his mass with the fog. Keep moving though. Or... can you hover slightly above the ground so he can't track you via your steps?

Feels good to be alive, eh? Sorry but we had to use the alarmstick to take out the big bug. You should be able to retrieve your sword now.

I'd just like to point out that Dreanin came by. There was even going to be a party for you. A big party that all your friends were invited to. I invited your best friend Brizzel. Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either because you don't have any other friends. Because of how unlikeable you are. It says so here in your personnel file: Unlikeable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikeable loner whose passing shall not be mourned. 'Shall not be mourned.' That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted. So that's funny, too.
