Aria: it is a good thing we suggested that you wear your hairband. You're still in, so don't worry. You also still have Maurine (who is doing really well I must add).

For now, jump away from this dude, and Rocket Blast towards Mina and slash her hairbands as she is falling to finish her off, and gain some distance away from the lizard dude.

tier 1 battle

>They're tier rules! Have you guys been listening at all? Tier 1 is just two layers of normal clothes, up to like six items and accessories don't count, Tier 2 is anything but only up to like twelve things. Tier 3 is pretty much anything goes! Jeez!

It's a team battle, Aria. Get out of the way, let Maurine finish him off. Also, that was our bad. He definitely was showing signs of having fire breath. We could've warned you in time.

Also damn Maurine you got some GREAT form there. But look at what that bastard did to Aria! Go get some revenge. Look out for his fire breath, and don't let him regain use of his forcefield weapon.

Consistency note: Aria is supposed to have her flash mark in the last image. The fact that she's missing it is an oversight on my part. I really need a checklist or something.

Aria: Don't despair. This was an experience to learn from, Besides, wasn't the risk of this part of the fun?

Also, if you can think of anything that will help her calm down after this, it would be fantastic. I suspect she didn't find this very fun after all..

Maurine: This isn't some mean prank: Its a game with friends. The King couldn't want his people, who can't truly hurt one another, to suffer from it.

You have a sharp, creative mind, steady hands, and a strong, solid form. In fact, being as small and light as they are, they're at a bit of a disadvantage once they're in reach.

You have the power to end this match. You can choose to call an end to it with no consequences, if you truly don't want to play any longer.. your friends will understand.

... or you can easily pin mister pompadour down and take his shoes.
Your blades, or your ice, can get around his wall. You can use your hands to block his fire breath with ice.. and bring up something hooked from your feet to slice through his laces and pull his shoes right off.

No, you didn't lose. You're out. You haven't really lost until your teammate has been knocked out, too.

And, uh, don't feel bad about that. Team games sometimes require sacrificial moves. You still did good.

All you can really do at this point is hope you hold fire-butt's attention long enough for Maurine to finish him by wiping out his shoes.

>Don't despair. This was an experience to learn from, Besides, wasn't the risk of this part of the fun?

*sigh* Yeah, I guess…

I really do gotta train more, huh?

On my way to the sidelines, I see Mina heading there too. Jeez… did Maurine do that?

When we get to the edge of the arena, Mina looks at me and says, "I gotta give your friend some props, those were totally sicknasty moves for a first-timer. One moment she's freakin' the fuck out, then BAM, she's got me up to my knees in ice and she's hitting me with a wicked uppercut! And that was after she got my whole outfit in like… one shot!"

"That sounds awesome! Too bad I too busy fighting your brother to see it…"

"Yeah, sure hope he pulls through! If your friend hits him as hard as he hit me, we're gonna be stuck doing whatever you say all day! In the nude!"

"Uh, I never said-"

"Lou, you got this! C'mon, kick her butt"

>Also, if you can think of anything that will help her calm down after this, it would be fantastic.

C'mon, there's gotta be something I can do… I got nothing. Guys?

>I suspect she didn't find this very fun after all...

This isn't fun for her at all, is it?

Jeez, This was kind of a giant jerk move making her do this, huh… I wouldn't blame her if she held it against me…

*sigh* I can always get more stuff. It'd be okay if we just called off the match.

Oh don't get to bummed out Aria, that guy just had powers that kind trumped yours. I mean the way you've been building yourself up you're more of a hit and run fast attacker. With his shield bullshit he was able to bog you down... and thinking back on it telling you to try and block that one chick's attack instead of dodge was probably a bad call on our part. Oh well you learn more with each loss then with each victory.

-Maurine-
You're doing great kid. Just make sure you have your ice powers ready to protect you at a moments notice because this guy uses fire for his offensive ability so your ice should be able to cancel it out. he can also make shields so direct attacks might be tricky on this guy. maybe try to ice the floor and just have blades come out your feet so you won't slip and he will. turn the terrain into something that benefits you. You don't have to ice the whole floor just where you walk. and if you can stick this guy to the floor like you did to his sister that would also probably help a lot.

Hmm. Think you can make a path of ice in front of you? You can possibly protrude some blades from your feet and "skate" around him. If you manage to get behind him, those horns would make great hooks to pull upon in order to slam him down to get at his shoes and socks, and if you happen to jab your feet-claws into them as you toss him, they'll either pull or tear right off, too.

ARIA: ask Mina in a friendly way how her weapon works, we will relay the instructions to Maurine when she uses Mina's weapon on the ground. Don't sound too suspicious though

Maurine: Pick up that weapon Mina dropped. I am going to try to get Aria to get instructions on using that thing from Mina, then we will tell you how to use it.

Yeah, but I never said anything about ordering her around! She just kinda… decided that was a dare she was gonna do if she lost.

>I have an idea
>ARIA: ask Mina in a friendly way how her weapon works, we will relay the instructions to Maurine when she uses Mina's weapon on the ground. Don't sound too suspicious though

We gotta do this!

"Hey Mina! That sword-hammer-weapon-thingy you've got is awesome! How's it work?"

She stops cheering a Lou for a second a beams at me. "Oh, it's rad! I had to save up for it for a long time for it, but my offensive power's made of suck so I had to.

It's fitted with an outward-facing projection stone on one side, and a sundering stone on the other! I just think about what I want it to be and it projects my offensive barriers into whatever weapon I want! The sundering stone on the other side makes it deconstruct any clothes it touches. Too mad I can't make it do something with my teleport, but you win some you lose some!"

Oh King that's so awesome! I need one!

"Wow, that's pretty cool!"

Maurine kinda growls a little and uses her free hand to scoop up Mina's weapon.

…I reach down pick up Mina's weapon… oh king everyone's staring… I j-just need to focus. He ruined the dress I made for Aria…!

Lou's still standing there with his palms out… I… I think he's waiting for me to make the first move…

The palms-out thing is also what he did to project that wall.

Mina seems to imply that her weapon might work with defensive powers as well.. so here's an idea. get to about half-court, then try to project your ice through the weapon, holding it so the 'blade' is more or less aiming right up.. make it as long as possible, then bring it down on him. His wall seemed to have a top when Aria er.. tested it, earlier.

It should make him stumble, stagger, or otherwise break his composure, giving you a chance to get in close and strip his sneakers. Heck, if you can keep his head from facing you, you might not even need to use a weapon at that point.

Maurine: Projection stone on one side, sundering stone on the other. You just have to think about a type of weapon, and the projection is created. Might I suggest a sickle? It could curve around any shield he tries to make. Make sure the projection stone is on the side you think it is.

Ooooh if you want to be super badass you could project one half of a pair of giant scissors, and create the other half using your weapon-creation ability.

Sorry. Inter-dimensional communications magic isn't always the most reliable thing.

Congrats on your win, by the way. Tell Maurine we said she did good. We're proud of her for coming through, and sticking with it.

...be nice to her, by the way. She's probably got a massive crush on you. Would have just let things take their course, but we're probably not gonna get the chance to see it. So I'll take the chance to be a busybody, now.

I think you can win your battles, although you're going to have to work harder to look for opportunities yourself. You'll have to see the next nipple to bite when it presents itself. Fight smart.

And don't take it too hard when you do lose. Every journey has setbacks, and no one can win every fight.

While it may be something I don't quite understand, I theorize that he perhaps sees you as a prodigy of something great and enlisted us to prepare you for your future. Final advice? Well, from what I've seen a lot of your intangibility tricks rely on momentum. Get good at moving fast, or pick up some equipment that lets you move faster. Something to extend your reach so you can tear clothes off enemies would be good too, but it's worth noting that with the way damage seems to work in your world grabbing stuff might only be needed for extremities or for smaller, hardier items. Otherwise you can use fire and/or vicious sword slices. I bet you can use intangibility to steal equipment from your enemies, not just clothes. I'm also wondering if you can get enough fine control over it to allow you to dive under the ground and pop up wherever you want. Like an attack from below?

Don't forget your defensive fire powers were defined as "fireballs" so you will eventually want to learn how to start creating actual balls of fire. I doubt you'll be able to throw them since that's a strictly offensive technique, but you might be able to place them down for area denial, or figure out how to block attacks outright with fire. Maybe with the force of the explosion? If you can figure out how to direct the explosion in only one direction you could use that without damaging yourself.

It occurs to me a possible ultimate technique could be an EXPLOSIVE BUMRUSH. Phase through someone then trigger an explosion when you're inside them. Their body might even protect your clothes from the explosion!

>This sucks!
that's life for you

But yeah, some times all you can do when the times get hard is just to roll with punches as they come and keep moving forward until things get better. Besides, I know you'll do great on your own, and thinking about it your not really alone, you have friends who will help you out and two mothers who can give you experienced advice if you need it. Not sure how much time we have left but I know it's not much so just going to take this time and say... well goodbye, it's been fun and that I wish we could have sticked around longer but sometimes things just don't work out like you wanted them to. Oh and if anyone else ask about us tell them we said bye to them as well. Don't want to seem rude.

Metaphorically! Well, literally too, if that's what it takes, but all silly unconventional opportunities won't be nipples. Probably.

Oh jeez, I gotta try some of that stuff! EXPLOSIVE BUMRUSH!

>honestly I wanna say something sappy and emotional but all I can think about is how if this was a story somewhere the mere mention of the bad king earlier would assure his arrival later in the story.
>like if that happens kickum his buttock

No way, he's totally fake. I'll kick him in the butt for you if he isn't though!

>>I'll bite as many nipples as I have to so I can get to the top!
>Metaphorically! Well, literally too, if that's what it takes, but all silly unconventional opportunities won't be nipples. Probably.

Nipples or not, I'll do what I gotta do! They won't see… whatever I'm going to do coming!

>>First you guys disappear on me, and now you're leaving forever?!
>Well, not necessarily forever. It's possible we might find our way back in some more limited capacity, someday. Don't hold out on that, but maybe not forever.

If you guys come back, you're gonna be so impressed with all the stuff I did in the meantime! It's gonna be awesome!

>eh we'll probably be back so don't fuck up till then.

Ha! Like I'll do that! When have I ever messed anything up?!

>>It's been really fun, guys!
>Knock 'em dead, girl.

Gotcha! I'll make you proud, Tgchan!

…You're getting f u z z y again. I guess it's really time for you to go, huh?

Bye... I really, really hope I get to see you again. It's been awesome.
