>DISCUSS

This area for MADE discussion thread.

Friends from old threads I've done will be appearing in this series!

also, submitting characters/objects HERE is allowed, drawing a picture or describing the character might get them in the quest.

Is that Naut?!

Yep. That's naut.

On an unrelated note, I'm not sure this quest is exactly 'popular', so I might discontinue it. Maybe. Not sure yet.

Dude give it time, quests take a while to get a following

problem is it looks cute but no one has any idea what to DO. is the problem with being obtuse about the rules.

I figured as much, but the idea was for people to try to figure things out as they went along. I'll give a brief summary of what CAN be done.

It's important to note that for prisoners 1-3, you can only interact with them via floating Camera Bots that follow them around. This is what you're viewing those 3 prisoners through.

>[VIEW]

Viewing relates to viewing a character. While viewing a character, you know where they are what they're currently doing, and can converse with them (or anyone else in the room WITH them) while viewing them. [VIEW]ing a character locks the camera bot in place, making it so it no longer hovers after them. Thus, if they leave the vision of the Viewbot (The panel) You have to either select [SHIFT] or [MAKE] to allow it to catch back up.

>[SHIFT]
Though WARDEN wants you to think this is malfunctioning, it's really not. The [SHIFT] brings you to a world map. From there you can either A: shift views to a more close up view (I.E. going from world map to Glowform Caves map) or you can shift the map itself around, which also affects the real world map. Certain areas can't be moved, but most can. You could shift Glowform Caves directly next to the Confection Desert, but you can't shift The Tower around. Notably, whenever you shift something, whatever was previously in the place you're shifting a landmass TO takes it's place. Thusly, you have to be aware of both where you're shifting to and shifting from. Moving yourself closer to the goal is all fine and dandy, but if in the process you shift a volcano next to an ice cap... It's not gonna be fun.

>[MAKE]

A sort of freeform voting system for creating characters, vehicles, objects, weapons, so on. Right now it's limited, but as the characters explore, they'll be able to unlock more 'selections' for example, the choice to place the object directly on a location on the map, being able to assign multiple qualities to an object, and the choice to instantly make an object WITHOUT the voting process, as per the [GAIN] command from previous quests. But right now it's... limited.

Pro-tip: Prisoner No 4 is the most useful when it comes to upgrading the system

that SHIFT one is important, we had no reason to attempt to use something that was potentially broken. could have easily meant "shift character's internal organs around"

I will patronize your quest. In every sense of the word.

Well I mean abandoning the first chapter isn't exactly encouraging.
>>

I Know, I'm aware that the 'first chapter'(AKA SAVE) was abandoned. In reality, I did want to continue it, but At the time there seemed little interest, taking up to 3 days to get a single response, where previously it had taken mere hours. Additionally, this was right around a tumultuous period of time, So continuing the quest without support seemed like time that could be better spent elsewhere, such as college studies.

it's usually better to call thread ends when that happens and pick up later, I was (and am) still pretty invested in nautquest & the previous incarnation of Superjail Simulator 2K16.
Suggestions do wax and wane, usually dependant on how much momentum or direction there is.

iirc didn't we drop off the previous thread right after we told a mirror ghost to fuck off our dicks?

>up to 3 days to get a single response
...where? Towards the end of the thread, there was one update that took 3 days to get a second response, but the first response was generally pretty quick.

Really though what you should've done is ended the thread (with an END OF CHAPTER update, even an abrupt one) after you got back and decided to make a second thread. I mean it's still sitting there, unarchived.

>>101110

Correct. You will be meeting 'the Mirror Ghost' who is actually a bounty hunter, in this thread.

>>101112

I don't really enjoy doing things abruptly, and I'm a little surprised that it hasn't been archived. it's been half a year after all.

If you don't mark threads as finished to one of the moderators they assume that the thread is "dead" and it goes to the ghost house instead of to the quest archive.
good ol' bureaucracy!

It's been two months since the last update!

Oh, by the way, don't worry about having to make prisoner 4, or about any prizes gained during creation

You can switch to them at any time

they're a surprise~

So we didn't lose our present when we reset? That's good.
>>
No. 101187 ID: bf22e8

>>101186

You did not lose the Present, no.
>>
No. 101220 ID: f8482c

and this is where that obtuseness is getting in the way, going to be trying to make this second character forever like this.
>>
No. 101224 ID: bf22e8

>>101220

Au contrare.

You'd be stuck making a second character 'forever' because you're never satisfied with what you've made. You successfully made one character, didn't like it, and decided to try again.

You're successfully making characters. The question is whether you'll like them.
>>
No. 101226 ID: bf22e8

>>101224

And, uh, to keep things simple, if you guys don't like a character by tomorrow, I'm gonna have a thing happen. You'll get your present then.
>>
No. 101231 ID: 398fe1

Still another prisoner to pick a shape for after this one, too...
>>
No. 101262 ID: bf22e8

Since making the second prisoner took so long, I'm instead going to allow YOU guys to design the third prisoner from scratch. Designs can either be submitted here OR in the quest thread, and any design goes. It can be sfw, nsfw, thick, thin, tall, small, whatever. Just keep in mind that the more complex it is to draw, the more likely I am to simplify the design if it's picked.

Have fun!

So I got around to translating the blue warden texts. That's some heavy shit.

Are you okay, bro? Are you getting help?
>>
No. 101358 ID: bf22e8

>>101357

It's a good way of venting. I had to leave college due to family troubles, and am now searching for a job. I'm doing fine, though, don't worry about it.
>>
No. 101359 ID: 398fe1

Alright, well, I got the SAVE thread archived for you, now it won't fall into the graveyard.
>>
No. 101445 ID: 398fe1

Did you actually make this font yourself or is it just esoteric enough that I can't find it via google?
>>
No. 101523 ID: bf22e8

>>101445

There's a Madoka Magica font I use, but it's not made by me.

Also, I'll be taking a short break from MAKE. Some things have come up, but don't worry, this one will definitely be finished unlike the others.
>>
No. 101525 ID: 398fe1

AH, there it is. Now I don't have to keep writing down new symbols!

It looks like the font you're using is broken and doesn't have a symbol for v. There is a symbol for v in the show, apparently, it's a kind of diagonal baton looking thing.
