This is not How Do I Shot. Nope. Nuh-uh. Not making my own plug thread. Nope.

Well, I'll discuss the quest with ya, even though I'm the only one playing... ;)

It reminds me a lot of Metroid Fusion. Especially with the Simuhalls.

Also, a little advice (you don't have to take it if you don't want)... but you might want to make the characters a bit more relatable; they seem rather flat. You use 'simply' a lot to describe how the characters speak, but 'simply' conveys absolutely 0 emotion. It makes the characters seem more like plot utilities than actual people.

I'd recommend putting a bit more effort into showing what the characters are feeling. Even if they're shellshocked, describe the hopelessly flat tone and disturbing lack of facial expressions. I understand the need for expediency, but I think the slight delays'd be worth the much higher quality product.

Aye.
That's a good point. I'll work on that.

I gotta say, you're doin' a much better job of it this section. I was coming here to take that comment back, not knowing whether you'd read it or not. The characters are so much more relatable and come to life more just by changing a few words to show how they react.

I'm quite enjoying it. =)

I also second the need of drawfags. Maybe I'll try drawing something, even though I'm terrible. It'll be really basic, plus I only have a touchpad, so I'll need to hook up my scanner.

Anything at this point is better than a clumsy program that can't even adjust line size. >.<

Also, the only thing I'd like drawn is the main characters and Ergo 4. The monsters need to remain undetailed, only in the mind... they're more frightening that way.

I would just like to say... damn you for giving John a daughter, and damn me for not being able to act out of character and thus be genre savvy.

I knew that was a bad idea, but I also knew it's what the character would do and thus had to do it.

I knew it would work.

Appaerently that's all this paint program is really good for, though.

This quest no longer reminds me of Metroid. Now it reminds me of Metroid meets Animorphs. :P

I gotta admit though... I'm finding it hard to roleplay having a daughter, since I don't have any kids in real life. =/

Animorphs was some pretty hardcore stuff for a kid's book series.
And don't worry, you're doing fine.

Cosigned, but I really didn't like the last 5-10 books of the series. Seemed like Applegate (or whoever was ghostwriting for her at the time) just kind of gave up.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Or like she just realized, 'oh hey, I gotta end this thing at some point!' and crammed it all into the last few books to sum it up. I think it had to do with the popularity dying down, plus she was probably running out of ideas.

You DO know that she only wrote like the first and last books, right? That was the biggest shock ever when I found out.

(Also her other book series blew. Like Everworld.)

I knew that somewhere in the back of my head, but I've been kinda ignoring it. Presumably she read over and approved 'em, so they're still hers-ish.

Back on topic... and I thought RPing a father was hard. I guess I shoulda waited till I had to play an enraged psychic father... -_-

You are not making this easy for me, hehe. That's fine by me, I don't mind a challenge. I just don't know how much more dramatic I can get.

Was it supposed to be Ness? The figurine thing made me think of the statues from super smash bros.

Odd that she'd have one of those on her though...

And I'm still waiting for that Shyamalan twist. o_o

Okay, seriously... what's this about John's wife? I probably should've been told about that so I could properly roleplaying it rather than having no idea what he's talking about...

You played it right: it'll be revealed later what Achilles meant.

Okay... well... now I have no idea what's going on, haha. I had several ideas about how John might react, and I tried one of them. If it's horribly inappropriate, let me know and I'll delete it and go a different route.

Hmm... okay end? I think I'm alright with that.

What were the requirements for a better end? a worse end?

WORSTEND means that either a) you die, b) you allowed the satellite to crash onto Mars, or c) Elaine dies.

BESTEND means you shut down Achilles permanently.

I hope you guys don't mind playing as Achilles.

It's an interesting situation. Might also wanna post a link back to Operator Quest if you want to make the backstory more clear. Or not, up to you.

Funny how jpg artifacts work for me half the time, like how Achille's eyes and smoke blend by accident.
