So as some folks likely noticed, brainstorming for plot ideas happened in Theta's thread, and then it turned out he didn't want such a thing in the first place. The ideas that sprung up are too great to waste though, so I reckon we should run with them in their own quest.

If someone who has run quests that didn't fail almost immediately would like to run this, that would be splendid. Otherwise, I'll do it once I'm done with my finals.

In the meanwhile, let's continue with the brainstorming!

Thus far, the ideas:
The game starts with the protagonist having been turned into a dragon by lusting for the horde of a dragon who no longer lives. Dark Paladins served the old dragon, and soon return, seeing the protagonist as his reincarnation. They (with or without the consent of the protagonist, to be determined depending on how it's played, I guess) take the protagonist's wife from his primitive village and turn her into a sacrificial vampire. She fills up with the blood of mortals, and the dragon may drink blood from her to empower himself in the same dark magics that his paladins use.
That's as far post-starting as we've got in terms of plot, which is probably enough.
Now we can strike backwards in time, discussing how things came to pass as they did, and we can cast our view wider, inventing a setting beyond the little implied by what we've got so far.

Here's a bit of fluff!

"..The dragons were always there, a power given form on the face of [insert world's name here], One was far worse, an avatar of disaster, for untold millennium he was a cancer gnawing away at the world. Nidhogg the Dark Dragon. None could stand against him, six of the most powerful paladins came against him, and became his marauders pillaging for his hidden hoard. Countless Paladins and Knights fell to his darkness!

But as his Fallen heroes and heroines swept across the land, something happened. Nidhogg's power deserted them. What had happened?

Nidhogg had died of old age, It was thought that dragons were Immortal, in truth they live only for Ten thousand years. So Nidhogg reign of terror ended, and the world was at peace...

But there was a prophecy that he would return.

And the hour of our doom would begin..."

"Hey old man, don't you have anything better than that?, I've heard it more times than I can count! You'll have to try better than that to get some beer!"

Baulos Harken, the first paladin to fall to Nidhogg, sighed and hobbled off, an old man, with bones that pained him in cold weather, and a leg that was as twisted as a corkscrew.

He sighed.
"Oh master, where are your promises now...? the world you said you would create?"

I say a world that is a tree, with various lands on the ludicrously huge branches! That would be cool.

Some ideas for Knights.
The Six
Baulos Harken; Now a broken old man.

Farlo Caphais; Elegant lightening bruiser, he is evil urbane, polite even while he ruins your world. Magnificent Bastard, since the death of Nidhogg he is setting his own empire up, doing quite well for himself. Weapon: Spirit eating Rapier. Name given by the peoples: The Dark Lord

Yad Ronne; Undead, Skeleton in massive black armour. A complete and utter battle maniac, a blood knight. Since the death of Nidhogg has been wandering the tree, looking for strong fighters, destroying every place he passes through. Weapon: everything around him. Name Given by the peoples:

Beatrix "Tricks" Var Huiwyr; She is cursed with the wer! She becomes a slavering huge dire dark wolf when enraged or embarrassed. Loved Nidhogg and was always wanting his children. Since his death she changed into the Black Beast and roamed the land looking for a way to revive Nidhogg and taking vengeance on the world that stole her Nidhogg (Who was infact quite apathetic towards her). She is Yandere, Yan to everyone, and dere to Nidhogg. Weapon: When not a wolf she wears obsidian jaws, with serrated fangs, they are set up in such a way that turning into a wolf does not make them fall off.

Dasar Petswucth: Died a dogs death, though there are rumours of him being chained away somewhere...

Luffia Xamearth: The Full armoured lady, she now works as an assassin and one woman army. She likes treasure almost as much as Nidhogg did. She loves cooking and watching the moon. That and crushing all before her to get them to acknowledge her beauty. She is quite beautiful... when not covered in gore. Weapon: A massive armory upon her back. How she stays up with the weight of both racks is a mystery.

None of these have had a hand in reviving Nidhogg (Turning you into a dragon).
