oh goddammit I'm going to have to miss my updates this week because I'm sick and I have a thousand things that are due like monday

So I guess I'll use this instance to ask this question:

do you guys want some honest to god fetch quest puzzles or do you guys want to skip this and get on with more plot?
>>

Depends. If the fetch quest puzzles don't take too long, then they might be fun.

But if like five months from now we're still in the middle of a fetch quest puzzle then, y'know.

Adult Hatch and Ikar are not going to appear in this quest, they'll appear in a sequel quest if I ever get around to it.

Also, I'm going to try to have this quest done by December, but I dunno how that's going to happen at this rate.

could, despite our paranoid little birdy thinking it means her and Liam, well refer to Rain and this Radou character.

I'd just like to point out that there are plenty of pairs in Hatchquest. Liam and Hatch, Liam and Aruuchi, Hatch and Ikar, Jingles and Tienaye, Radou and Dekustir, Rain and Lord Zyn, Shigu and the insurgents or whatever you want to call Dekustir's group, just to name a few.

You can always ask people in the quest as Liam or ITQ here to get some answers, too.

I don't get you, tgchan. You find a brightly colored girly bird man with purple stockings and you SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD?
>>

He wanted to hurt sergals. Off course it'd bring tgchan in an uproar.

Brightly colored girly genocidal bird man with purple stockings. I'm sure some people would have tied up Sexy Hitler if there was a chance, but he was armed.

Now the problem is going to be steering /quest/ away from their natural desire to explore mysterious underground facilities and focus on getting the doors open and beating their messenger to Rain. I'm guessing Nevreans can cover ground faster than Sergals over distance, so that pretty much means it's up to Liam, against a head start.

I think the uproar was more over that he wanted to hurt Aruuchi, in particular. And by extension his entire family, including Ikar.
>>
No. 27283 ID: 15c32f

So is Aruuchi worth the lives of the thousands they would save by killing Rain?

Hatch's village was tiny, it looks like it barely has a hundred people in the first thread.
>>
No. 27284 ID: 620bfb

>>337083
But it was OUR hundred people, man! Everyone knows that if the end justifies the means, you're officially Evil. And then later you get destroyed by a bunch of people crowing about love and friendship and you wonder just where the hell it all went wrong.
>>
No. 27285 ID: 14a040

i want to know exactly how his plan saves lives. they piss off the sergals, they strike back really fucking hard, killing not just liam's village but all the villages in like... let's say 500 miles. how many birds is that? and it will leave them without the goal of CONQUEST and the hundreads of tribes will then switch to full on 'do whatever the fuck we want' mode and just kill and loot as they please. just cause they are not unified doesn't mean they aren't dangerous.

The most charitable interpretation I can think of is that the sharkwolves may actually despite Queen Rapealot and would be notably more chill when out from under the grip of her iron crotchtendril.

Yeah...no.
>>
No. 27289 ID: e3f578

That red bird guy was a stupid overidealistic shitfuck. Queen Rapealot will get what's coming to her someday since apparently she's a normal tactical general and shit and will probably fall on her own.

All are overly aggressive shitfucks, we keeps our friends and family alive and not become aggressive shitfucks, the overly aggressive shitfucks will all kill each other or weaken each other enough that the weaker and less aggressive fucks have an actual chance.

It's all fucked anyway. Fuck it.

It was also established Dekustir was young. Barely an adult, and it's also established he was the follower of someone else. You don't think it's possible he could have been misled, as many young late high school/early college age folk are?

Anywho, in more actually quest related stuff, I think this chapter will be the last time we follow Hatch and Ikar, the plan is to do this chapter, one more with Liam and company, and then maybe an epilogue. It may stretch further than that depending on how things go.

So yeah. Two and a half chapters and the quest should be wrapped up pretty nicely.

Okay, my analysis is this. Mr. Jingles has had a vision in which the possible events transpire. In a Shrodinger's Cat moment he (I think it's a "he") has spotted Hatch and Ikar as being involved in the chain of events. Both of them are easily recognized by the fun-loving plant guy because Ikar's feather-pattern is as distinctive as any male nevrean and Hatch has her characteristic hair-clip. If he doesn't know who the two who have to die are, shouldn't he be able to give a description of them? At least such simple things as species and gender? Is it possible to pin him down on these kind of important specifics, or am I taking the "vision" part of this too literally?
>>
No. 30421 ID: 9cb4b3

>>340206
He saw Hatch and Liam and recognized them. Nobody else. Jingles sort of lived near the outskirts of Hatch's town for a while, as you can see on the shitty map from the very first thread.

The two who have to die aren't known. One of them could be himself, for all he knows. No gender, no description, no nothing.

There's a LOT of pairs in this quest, as discussed a little earlier in this very thread. Figuring out who those two are is something you guys are going to have to do.

Dekustir might have been one of them, and if he was, you only have to kill one more, if he wasn't, then you might have killed someone unnecessarily, though it's really too late for Liam to turn back now.

I'm also not going to say if both of the "required" deaths will happen on Hatch's side, Liam's side or one on each. There's no telling if only one is required, though the vision did say both must die, and that's rather ambiguous.

Oh, and the fort is not the ruins. The fort is an actual fort on a river. The ruins are an old agudner bunker from before they fucked themselves over.

>you might have killed someone unnecessarily
I can say killing a dumb shithead faction leader (or whatever he qualifies as) that was a viable threat doesn't fall under the category of "unnecessary death". The guy just screamed douchebag throughout that entire part anyway. No loss.
>>
No. 30425 ID: 9cb4b3

>>340224
Unnecessary in that "you didn't have to, and you could have gotten away with not doing it overall" but the way things turned out, it was either him or Liam, so you guys did really good. I really thought you guys were going to get Liam killed there.

Unnecessary also as in not one of the necessary deaths for the good end, not actually completely unnecessary.

Welp, by the time most of you read this I'll be on my way to Orlando, leaving my home town of Houston at around six in the morning. I'm not sure when I'll have a non-iphone form of internet connection next, so until then, have a blast guys.

Not to be a Rules Lawyer, but...isn't that info that Hatch doesn't have? All her father told her was that this was a camping trip, unless I'm losing my mind, again.
>>

She doesn't know about the surrendering part, no. She knows her dad is a messenger though, and that they were attacked followed by the Nira tribe scouts being attacked.

The Nira tribe scouts being Aruuchi and co, who are all members of the Shigu Clan. And just to clarify this, the fort they are all trying to get to is a shigu fort, and this is a shigu army before them.
