So hey we should totally get a group of people who know something about garry's mod to make a GMOD QUEST.
If you have no idea how to gmod, who cares? It's easy enough to learn and it's fun.

Pic related, it's me and my bitch.

I fully support the idea of a GMOD Quest. Sounds like a recipe for epic lulz. Somebody get on this shit yo!

I'm totally game, and I'm pretty sure The Littlest Emo from #rubyquest is too.

My gmod skills are fairly modest, but I did make the OP image, plus this one.

I would certainly love to see a GMOD QUEST, I actually toyed with the idea for a bit before deciding that I'd love interest quickly due to the work in both A. Making it exciting without going crazy, and B. Posing ragdolls, finicky bastards take forever to get right.

Exactly how stupid a quest are we talking?

Not sure yet. It could vary between Full Life Consequences and semi-serious shit, depending on how we want to do it and the skill of all involved.
No LOL SO RANDUMB allowed of course, due to the limitations of the engine we're working with and how I personally detest the concept.

I will also participate if we can get a good group and update rotation.

I'm gonna respectfully point out, as a reader, that if you're going to do a collaborative quest, you need to a) keep the roster small, and b) make sure people will follow through. The last collaborative quest just kind of died, and I'd hate to see another one do the same.

's a good point, but imposing a window of time on when the next update is "due" and then falling back on a backup updater would act as a sort of safety net for those kinds of issues. Given the medium, "style differences" won't really be as jarring an issue as they would in a quest proper.

It's not like this is likely to be epic questing, anyway.

You mean multiplayer, or no?

I'd totally be down for it, either way.

I don't use ragdolls much but I know of a lot of good maps and model packs, and I can build some moderately cool-looking stuff out of props. If I felt like loading GMod right now I'd have a pic related reactor core to show you but fuck that it takes years.

Also, we'll need to figure out a setting. In GMod, there is really only post-apochalyptic content, cyberpunk content, and scifi content.

Actually, we could probably find a way to lift the Age of Chivalry maps/models and add "gritty/shitty European feudalism" to the settings list.

Keep in mind we have additional models we can snag from the 'net, like Renamon~

I've called in some of my fellow Gmodders off a site we frequent to have a look at this thread. All going well, they'll be glad to participate.

I'd be more interested in a Stephen Colbert quest now, >>314591.

A gmod/TF2 quest is fine too.

Awesome. It seems like there's a lot of interest in this. I suppose I could coordinate it, but I don't have that kind of brain or that kind of time on my hands. Would anyone else like to volunteer for leader?

If you guys would like a place to discuss this quest, on rizon's irc server join the channel #multiquest which was made for a multi-artist quest. I'll make a bunch of people admins so they can change up the subject and notify people what's going on or who's next to make a quest frame.

I vote for Full Life Consequences style bad ragdolling no matter how it goes down, however.

OK, how many of us have Portal? It would probably be the best environment for labs.

Voting for Lab setting as well. Post apocalyptic will just look junky and cluttered, plus I'm not really a big fan. :P

You've just sold me on the Lab Dramedy idea. Another vote here.

Let's organize more on the IRC tomorrow. I'll pop in when I have the time, but I won't for a bit because I'm going to be knee deep in Shakespeare.
